城ヶ島の東側に位置する公園です。芝生が敷き詰められた広場がある高台と、海を間近で見ることが出来る岩礁エリアの2つで構成されており、周囲には高い建物が一切無いため景色が素晴らしく海風を一身に感じ取ることが出来る絶好の公園だと思います。
但し、一年を通して風が強いため、帽子など飛ばされないよう注意が必要です。芝生公園には柵があるものの高さは低く、岩礁エリアにおいては柵そのものがありません。海水浴が出来るエリアではありませんので、転落には充分注意が必要です。ボールやフリスビー等で遊ぶことは特に禁止されていませんが、海に落としてしまったら回収することはまず不可能です。このような状況から、この公園には遊具類が存在しません。そのためこの公園は、犬の散歩を含め散策したり、ピクニックや芝生で寝転がるなど、のんびり過ごすのに最適な場所だと思います。
基本的に車で来る公園ですが、三崎口駅からのバスの本数も決して少なくはなく、また駐車場の広さも充分にあるため、アクセスしやすい公園だと思います。

This park is located on the eastern side of Jogashima Island. It features two main areas: an elevated grassy field offering panoramic views and a rocky shore area where you can experience the sea up close. With no tall buildings around, the park boasts stunning scenery and the refreshing ocean breeze.
However, be aware that it is windy year-round, so ensure your hats or other loose items won’t get blown away. While the grassy area has low fences, the rocky shore area lacks barriers entirely. Swimming is not allowed here, so be cautious to avoid any accidents. Activities like playing with balls or frisbees are not explicitly prohibited, but retrieving items that fall into the sea is nearly impossible. As a result, the park doesn’t have playground equipment.
Instead, it’s an ideal spot for relaxing activities like picnicking, strolling (including walking dogs), or simply lying on the grass and enjoying the view.
The park is primarily accessed by car, but there are frequent bus services from Misakiguchi Station, and the parking lot is spacious, making it a convenient destination for visitors.

福島駅西口から徒歩1〜2分と近く、周囲に飲食店はやや少ないもののホテルの1階にコンビニエンスストアが併設されているため少なくとも食料調達は不自由しないでしょう。
客室だけでなくロビー内も、清潔さを維持していることはさることながら、シンプルでありながら各調度品が品よくさっぱりとまとめられており、落ち着いた雰囲気で滞在できると思います。各客室の広さは標準的なビジネスホテルと同等ですが、調度品やアメニティもあまり多くを置かず効率的な配置にしているからか、窮屈という印象は全くありませんでした。特にバスルームは比較的広めに設計されており、しかも（古いホテルなどによく見られるような）落ちにくい汚れも全くと言っていい程見られず、快適に利用できると思います。前述の通りホテルの周囲に飲食店はやや少ないですが、その分夜間は静かに過ごせると思います。
周囲にはマンションが何棟か建っている関係上、上層階の客室でも窓からの夜景の鑑賞は過度な期待はしない方がいいかもしれません。
スタッフの接客対応の質も申し分ないと思います。アメニティなどを必要以上に客室等におかず、すっきりした空間設計にしているからか、価格もリーズナブルであるため、何度も利用したくなるホテルの1つだと思います。

Located just a 1-2 minute walk from the west exit of Fukushima Station, this hotel offers excellent convenience. While the surrounding area has relatively few dining options, the hotel features a convenience store on its ground floor, making it easy to purchase food and other necessities.
Both the guest rooms and the lobby are not only impeccably clean but also thoughtfully designed. The furnishings are simple yet elegant, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere for your stay. Although the size of the guest rooms is comparable to that of a standard business hotel, the efficient layout and minimalistic use of furnishings and amenities ensure that the space does not feel cramped. The bathroom, in particular, is relatively spacious and exceptionally well-maintained, with no noticeable stains or signs of wear often seen in older hotels.
As mentioned earlier, the number of nearby restaurants is limited, but this contributes to a peaceful and quiet environment at night. Due to several residential buildings in the vicinity, you may not have an extensive night view even from the upper floors.
The staff provide excellent service, and the streamlined design of the rooms, along with the minimal use of unnecessary amenities, helps keep the prices reasonable. This makes it a hotel you’d likely want to stay at again.

水俣市に立ち寄る機会があれば、必ず訪れるべき資料館、と言っても過言ではないと思う。
水俣病とは何か、水俣病の原因、対応の遅れ、謂れのない差別や誹謗中傷とそれに市民が立ち向かっていくプロセス、多数の被害者の声、二度とこのような被害が出ないようにするための官民一体となった取り組み、そう言った要素が体系的に分かりやすく展示されている。全ての展示を隅々まで観て回っても1時間程度で済み、しかも誰もが無料で利用できる。
展示の内容も、決して被害を受けた患者の、感情的に偏ったものばかりではない。原因となった廃液を排水した新日本窒素肥料（現：チッソ）も、水俣市の経済発展に寄与した側面も少なからずあり、完全な悪役としての展示ではない。いずれの展示も事実及び科学的根拠をベースとしている。
工業用廃液の基準の厳格化や徹底した排水管理を経て、2000年代に入れば新規に水俣病患者として認定された人は皆無となった。しかしそれでも存命の水俣病患者は多数おり、今も尚水俣病は完全に収束していないことが分かる。この資料館は、風化させてはいけない過去と、二度と水俣病のような公害病を出さないためにどのように取り組んでいけばいいかの未来を提示していると思う。

If you have the opportunity to visit Minamata City, this museum is a must-see. It provides a comprehensive and clear explanation of Minamata disease, including its causes, the delays in addressing the issue, the baseless discrimination and slander faced by victims, and how citizens stood up against these challenges. The museum also highlights the voices of numerous victims and the collaborative efforts by the government and private sectors to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
The exhibits are thoughtfully organized and easy to understand. You can explore the entire museum in about an hour, and admission is free for everyone.
The content is not merely emotionally charged from the victims’ perspective. It also acknowledges the contributions of the company responsible, Shin Nihon Chisso Hiryo (now Chisso Corporation), to the economic development of Minamata City. The exhibits are based on facts and scientific evidence rather than casting any party as a complete villain.
Thanks to stricter regulations on industrial wastewater and thorough water management, no new cases of Minamata disease have been officially recognized since the 2000s. However, many patients are still living with the condition today, showing that the disease is not entirely a thing of the past.
This museum serves as a reminder of a history we must not let fade and offers insights into how we can prevent environmental disasters like Minamata disease in the future.

コシのある麺と、盛り付けられた麺が見えなくなるくらいにたっぷりと盛り付けられたチャーシューなどのトッピングが特徴的なラーメン店です。指宿駅周辺にはいくつか飲食店があるものの、駅に近く気軽に立ち寄れるため、目的の電車を待つ間の食事目的として利用するといいかもしれません。気軽に立ち寄れるからか、特に休日の昼食時間帯は待ち客の列が出来ることがあります（とは言え、客の回転は決して悪くはなく、それ程待たずに店内に入り食事をすることが出来ます）。
スタッフの接客対応は概ね良好ですが、オープンテラス席の場合、注文のためにスタッフを呼ぶのに時間がかかる場合があることに注意が必要です。
鹿児島産の甘めの醤油を使っているため、スープは勿論チャーシューもその醤油でじっくり漬け込んでいるからかやや甘めです。勿論、その甘さは決してキツいものではなく、料理のアクセントとして味わい深いものになっていると思います。見た目こそコッテリした味付けのように思いますが、決してそうではなく、くどさもなく最後まで美味しくいただけると思います。

The staff’s service is generally good, though it’s worth noting that if you choose to sit at the outdoor terrace, it might take some time to catch a staff member’s attention when placing your order.
The soup and chashu are flavored with Kagoshima’s sweet soy sauce, giving them a slightly sweet taste. This sweetness is well-balanced and serves as a delightful accent to the dish. Although the ramen may appear rich and heavy, the flavor is surprisingly light and not overly greasy, allowing you to enjoy it fully without feeling overwhelmed.

新宿駅東口の繁華街からやや離れているとはいえ、この神社の境内を出れば車や人の往来が多く大きな喧騒を感じるにも関わらず、境内の内側は比較的静か、という、新宿の街中であることを一瞬忘れてしまうくらいの雰囲気の雰囲気に包まれています。とは言え、周囲を中層〜高層ビルに囲まれているため、それらを目にするとやはり都心にある神社、という印象は否めません。
拝殿と社務所は、境内の高台に設けられているものの、境内のそれ以外の摂社をはじめとする建物については、鳥居から段差等無く参拝に訪れることが出来ます（ところどころで参道がデコボコしていますが、車椅子等の通行が困難、というわけではありません）。加えて社務所へ向かう参道にはスロープが設置されているため、誰もが境内全てのスポットにアクセス出来ます。
普段は新宿の繁華街の喧騒もどこか遠くに聞こえるかのような環境ですが、祭事が多く、祭事の日には打って変わって活気に満ち溢れます。但し、境内自体はそれ程広くなく（境内を周遊するだけであれば30分も要しません）、その中を露店が隙間なく建ち並び、しかも常時の何倍もの人が訪れます。特に小さな子供は迷子になりやすくなることに注意が必要です。

Although this shrine is located slightly away from the bustling area near Shinjuku Station’s East Exit, once you step inside the grounds, you’ll find a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere that makes you momentarily forget you’re in the heart of Shinjuku. However, since the shrine is surrounded by mid- to high-rise buildings, their presence reminds you that it’s indeed a shrine in the middle of the city.
The main shrine building and office are situated on an elevated part of the grounds, but the other structures, including auxiliary shrines, are easily accessible without steps from the main torii gate. While parts of the pathways are uneven, they are not so rough as to make wheelchair access impossible. Additionally, a ramp leads to the shrine office, ensuring that all areas of the grounds are accessible to everyone.
On most days, the shrine offers a calm retreat, with the noise of Shinjuku’s busy streets fading into the distance. However, on festival days, the atmosphere completely changes, becoming lively and energetic. The shrine grounds are not very large (it takes less than 30 minutes to walk around), and during festivals, the space fills up with rows of food stalls and a much larger crowd than usual. Visitors with small children should be cautious, as it’s easy for them to get lost in the crowd.

国道139号線（横町バイパス）沿いにあるホテルです。富士山駅から徒歩20分程あり、徒歩でのアクセスが難しい程の距離ではないものの、基本的にこのホテルの利用者のほとんどがアクセスに車を利用しています。駐車場スペースも広く、紅葉などの観光シーズンの真っ只中であっても僅かに駐車できる余裕は確保されているように思います。
ホテル内及び客室自体は細かく清掃されているものの、古いホテルであるからか設備自体もところどころで古く、掃除しても落ちきれない汚れがいくつか見られます。とは言え、客室滞在時にそれらが不愉快に感じることはまずありません。（部屋によるかもしれませんが）大浴場がある関係上、客室内の浴室には浴槽が無く、シャワーのみとなります。
大浴場は日帰り温泉サービスとしても併せ持っているため、特に紅葉シーズン等の夕方〜夜の時間帯は、入場規制される程に混雑しています。宿泊者を優先させる、ということはありませんので、大浴場利用の際は注意が必要です。
難点もあり、その最たる例が、チェックイン・チェックアウトに場合によってかなりもたつかれることです。チェックイン・チェックアウト専用の機会があるのですが、パネルに表示される情報があまりにも複雑で画面いっぱいに文字情報がみっちりと書かれており、シンプルな表示とは程遠いと感じるでしょう。利用客は、たとえ複数回宿泊した上で慣れても手間取る可能性があるでしょう。さらに、大浴場の更衣室には狭い通路にもロッカーが設置されており、通路を通ろうにも着替え客で詰まってしまうこともしばしばあり、やや利用しづらいと感じるかもしれません。それでも、紅葉シーズンなど他のホテルの宿泊料が軒並み高額であっても比較的リーズナブルな価格で宿泊できるところに魅力があると思います。
建物自体が3階分の構造であるため、富士山が眺望できる客室であっても、木々や周辺の建物が景色の一部を遮ってしまっています。富士山の眺望には大きな期待を寄せるのは禁物かもしれません。

This hotel is located along National Route 139 (Yokomachi Bypass). It’s about a 20-minute walk from Fujisan Station. While the distance is not excessively far, most guests use cars to access the hotel. The parking lot is spacious, and even during peak tourist seasons, such as the autumn foliage period, there seems to be a little space available for parking.
The hotel and rooms are clean, but as the building is older, some areas show signs of wear that cannot be fully removed despite regular cleaning. However, these do not detract from the comfort of staying in the rooms. (This might depend on the room, though.) Since the hotel has a large public bath, guest room bathrooms only come with a shower, not a bathtub.
The public bath also serves as a day-use hot spring facility, so it can get very crowded, especially in the evenings during the autumn foliage season, sometimes to the point of entry restrictions. Guests are not given priority access, so keep this in mind when planning to use the facility.
There are some downsides, the most notable being the check-in and check-out process, which can occasionally take a lot of time. While there are dedicated self-service machines for this, the information displayed on the panels is overly detailed and crowded with text, making it far from user-friendly. Even experienced visitors who’ve stayed here multiple times may find the process cumbersome.
Additionally, in the changing area of the public bath, lockers are placed in narrow hallways, often causing congestion when people are changing. This can make the experience a bit inconvenient.
That said, the hotel is attractive because it offers relatively affordable rates even during peak seasons like the autumn foliage period, when other hotels tend to charge significantly higher prices.
The building is only three stories tall, so even in rooms advertised as having a view of Mt.Fuji, trees or nearby buildings may partially block the scenery. It might be best not to have overly high expectations for the Mt.Fuji view.

国道139号線（横町バイパス）沿いにある、和食主体のファミリーレストランです。入口で靴を脱いで下駄箱に入れてから入店する必要があります。ほぼ全ての客席は掘りごたつ形式で（一部テーブル席もあります）、且つほぼ全ての客席が4人用に構成されています。店舗自体も大きく客席も充分にあり、大人数で利用する客も見受けられますが、多くの客席では柱や簡単な仕切りがあるため、大人数の利用でも小グループに分かれて利用する必要があります。それもあってか、賑わっているものの不愉快に感じるような大声でしゃべるような客はいませんでした（少なくとも私が利用した時は）。
各テーブルに設置されているブザーを押してスタッフを呼び、注文するスタイルを採っています。給仕される料理の質や種類、スタッフの接客対応の質は、他の藍屋と遜色ないように思います。外国人観光客（特に中国人）の利用客が多いように思いますが、既に彼らの接客に慣れているからか、英語などの多言語にも特に問題ないように感じました。

This is a Japanese-style family restaurant located along National Route 139 (Yokomachi Bypass). To enter the restaurant, you need to take off your shoes at the entrance and place them in a shoe box. Most seating is in the Horigotatsu style (sunken seating with a footwell), although some table seating is available. Nearly all seating is designed for groups of four.
The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating, and large groups of customers are often seen dining here. However, because many tables are separated by pillars or partitions, large groups may need to divide into smaller groups when seated. Perhaps because of this, even though the restaurant was lively, there were no customers speaking loudly or behaving disruptively during my visit.
To order, press the call button installed on each table to summon a staff member. The quality and variety of the dishes, as well as the staff’s service, seemed consistent with other branches of Aiya.
The restaurant appears to have many foreign visitors, particularly Chinese tourists. The staff seemed accustomed to serving such guests, and there didn’t appear to be any significant issues with communicating in English or other languages.

かつて小諸城があり、江戸時代には小諸藩の藩庁が置かれ、藩の政治の中心部として機能していた史跡。現在は公園として整備され、有料で一般公開されている。
公園として整備されているものの、現在に至るまで城として機能していた時代の発掘調査が至る所で行われているため、敷地の全ての領域に立ち入れるわけではない。その一方で、明確にゾーニングされた上で、敷地内には小規模な遊園地や動物園、博物館、神社があり、しばしば訪れる人を驚かせる。しかし、ゾーニングされているからか、遊園地は色とりどりのアトラクションがあるものの、それ以外のスポットは派手な装飾はあまりなく、あまり景観を損ねていないような設計になっている。
立ち入れる範囲内だけであればそれ程広くは無いのだが、このようにスポットが多岐に渡っているため、敷地周遊するだけでも1時間は簡単に過ぎてしまう。城自体が天然の要害を巧みに利用して設計されたからか、千曲川をはじめ城からの眺望が素晴らしい。また、城跡としての見どころは、現存する石垣も勿論だが、城内に張り巡らされたように造られた空堀だろう。あまりにも大きく深く、簡単に敵を寄せ付けない造りが目を見張らせるだろう。動物園、遊園地、神社に立ち寄らなくても、往年の城の造りを充分に堪能できる史跡であると思う。

This is a historic site where there used to be Komoro Castle, and during the Edo period, the Komoro clan's clan office was located here, functioning as the political center of the clan. It has now been developed as a park and is open to the public for a fee.
Although it has been developed as a park, excavation surveys are still being carried out in various places from the period when it was still functioning as a castle, so it’s not possible to enter all areas of the grounds. On the other hand, the site is clearly zoned, and there is a small amusement park, zoo, museum and shrine on the grounds, which often surprises visitors. However, perhaps because of the zoning, although the amusement park has a variety of colorful attractions, the other spots do not have much flashy decoration, and the design does not seem to spoil the scenery too much.
If you only go as far as you can walk, it's not that big, but because there are so many different spots like this, it's easy to spend an hour just walking around the grounds. Perhaps because the castle itself was designed to make good use of the natural defences, the views from the castle, including the Chikumagawa River, are wonderful. Also, as a castle ruin, the highlight is of course the stone walls that still exist, but it's probably the dry moat that was built to encircle the castle grounds. The size and depth of the moat are so great that it would be hard for enemies to get close, and the structure is truly impressive. Even if you don't stop by the zoo, amusement park or shrine, I think this is a historic site where you can fully enjoy the structure of the castle from long ago.

館山駅西口にあるレストランの一つです。駅周辺には飲食店が多いのですが、その多くが夜間営業の居酒屋であること、昼営業のレストランやカフェが駅よりやや遠いところにあることから、特に休日の昼食時間帯は待ち客が出る程混雑します。
建物の1階にあり、出入口に段差は無いものの、扉は手動式であるため車椅子等の障碍を持つ方はやや利用しづらいと感じるかもしれません。
店内は小ぢんまりとしており、客席も30席程度です。多くの客席が4人向けの構成ですが、カウンター席もあるため、単身者でも気軽に利用できます。
店名に『グリル』という名前がある通り、ハンバーグやステーキのメニューが多数あります。一方で、ステーキ単品のメニューはあるものの、丼物やサンドウィッチなど、洋食レストランに見られる料理が豊富、といった印象です。色とりどりの野菜を使い、鮮やかな見た目を演出しており、ステーキやハンバーグも中まで充分に火を通しているものの、柔らかく拵えられていて最後まで美味しくいただけます。
少ないスタッフの数で注文・調理・配膳・会計を遣り繰りしているため、注文から給仕までに時間を要する場合があります。とても忙しなく動いているものの、特に失礼な対応をされることはありませんでした。

This is one of the restaurants located at the west exit of Tateyama Station. There are many restaurants in the area around the station, but many of them are izakaya (Japanese-style pubs) that are open at night, and the restaurants and cafes that are open during the day are located a little further away from the station, so it can get very busy, especially during lunchtime on weekends, with people waiting to get in.
Although there are no steps at the entrance, the door is manual, so people with disabilities such as wheelchair users may find it a little difficult to use.
The restaurant is small and has about 30 seats. Although most of the seats are for four people, there are also counter seats, so single people can also use it casually.
As the name of the restaurant includes the word "grill", there are many hamburgers and steaks on the menu. On the other hand, although there are steaks on the menu, there is also a wide range of dishes that you would expect to find in a Western-style restaurant, such as rice bowls and sandwiches. They use a variety of colorful vegetables to create a bright appearance, and although the steaks and hamburgers are cooked thoroughly, they are prepared to be soft and delicious right to the last bite.
As they handle ordering, cooking, serving and paying with a small number of staff, it may take some time from ordering to serving. Although they are very busy, they did not give us a rude impression.

富士山をゆったり寛ぎながら眺めるために設けられた展望施設です。高さは13mですが、それは施設の入口から展望台までの高さで合って、設備自体は小高い丘の上に建てられているため、『ハーブ庭園』を含む敷地内の最も低いところからでは、20mくらいの高さになると思います。
眼下や周辺には高い建物が一切なく、展望台から見る富士山の景色は本当に素晴らしいの一言です（但し、天候が悪かったり富士山に雲がかかりすぎていると、だいぶこの施設の魅力が下がってしまいますが）。加えて、眼下にはハーブ園があり、秋は紅葉、冬は（降雪後の晴れの日の）雪化粧の景色を愛でることができ、それらと組み合わせた富士山の景色はさらに素晴らしいと感じるでしょう。
展望フロアは2か所に分かれ、1つは屋外、もう1つは屋内で、屋外にはソファの他ハンモックも数基設置されています。屋内はカフェになっており、富士山や樹海を模したパフェを食べながら富士山の景色を眺めることが出来ます。施設内には、写真や切り絵等、富士山そのもの、もしくは富士山にまつわるイラストやアートなどを楽しめるコーナーもあります。
この施設に入らなくても、入口前にも富士山を愛でるスポットがいくつかあります。しかもこのエリアは無料で利用できます。このエリアは、どちらかと言えば富士山をゆっくり眺めるよりも、様々なオブジェと組み合わせた思い思いの写真を撮るエリアに特化しているように思います。逆にソファやベンチなどの数はそれ程多くないため、譲り合いながら利用するといいでしょう。
施設内は有料で、入口の券売機でチケットを購入直後、専用のボックスにチケットを入れてエスカレーターで階上に上がる、という独特なシステムを採用しています。

This is a viewing facility that was built so that visitors can relax and enjoy a view of Mt.Fuji. Although it’s 13 meters high, this is the height from the entrance to the viewing platform, and the facility itself is built on a small hill, so from the lowest point on the grounds, including the herb garden, it’s probably about 20 meters high.
There are no tall buildings in the area below or around the observatory, and the view of Mt.Fuji from the observatory is truly wonderful (although if the weather is bad or Mt.Fuji is too covered in clouds, the attraction of the facility will be reduced considerably). In addition, there is a herb garden below, and in autumn you can admire the changing leaves, and in winter (on a clear day after it has snowed) you can admire the snow-covered view, and the view of Mt.Fuji combined with these other views is even more wonderful.
The observation floor is divided into two areas: one is outdoors, and the other is indoors. There are also several hammocks set up outdoors, as well as sofas. The indoor area is a cafe, where you can enjoy a view of Mt.Fuji while eating a parfait modeled on Mt.Fuji or the Sea of Trees. There is also a corner in the facility where you can enjoy photos, cutouts, and other illustrations and art related to Mt.Fuji itself or Mt.Fuji.
Even if you don't enter the facility, there are several spots in front of the entrance where you can admire Mt.Fuji. What's more, this area is free to use. This area is more specialized for taking photos of your own choosing, combined with various objects, rather than for taking your time to admire Mt.Fuji. On the other hand, there are not that many sofas or benches, so it's a good idea to share them with others.
There is a unique system in place at this facility: you buy a ticket from a ticket machine at the entrance, then put the ticket in a special box and take the escalator upstairs.

尾道駅から5分程度と近く、比較的リーズナブルな価格で宿泊できるビジネスホテルです。周辺にはコンビニエンスストアがいくつかあり、駅周辺には飲食店も複数あるため、ホテル滞在時の飲食及び食料調達に困ることはないでしょう。
他のホテル同様に清潔に保たれていますが、各客室は狭めで、客席内の床やバスルームの浴槽・洗面台を中心に古さが目立ち、加えて、これまでの宿泊者の利用による落ちない汚れの跡がところどころで目立ちます。非常に不愉快、というわけではありませんが、尾道の観光の拠点として活用し、ホテルそのものを楽しむことは考えない方がいいかもしれません。
出入口にスロープが設置されているものの、固定されているものではなく且つ少なからず段差もあるため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方はやや利用しづらいと感じるかもしれません。私が宿泊した時点では、客室の出入りと施錠は金属製のカギであるため、セキュリティ面でやや心許ないと感じるかもしれません。スタッフの対応はやや距離感を保ったものであるものの概ね丁寧でした。
台数はそれ程多くないですが、レンタサイクルのサービスもあるため、尾道観光に活用するといいでしょう。

This business hotel is located close to Onomichi Station (about 5 minutes away) and offers relatively reasonable accommodation. There are several convenience stores in the area, and there are also several restaurants around the station, so you shouldn't have any problems finding food or supplies while staying at the hotel.
Like other hotels, it's kept clean, but the rooms are small, and the floors, bathtubs and washbasins in the bathrooms are old and remain dirt that has already been caused by previous guests and can no longer be removed. It's not that it's unpleasant, but you might not want to use it as a base for sightseeing in Onomichi and enjoy the hotel itself.
Although there is a ramp at the entrance, it's not fixed in place and there are also a few steps, so people with disabilities such as wheelchair users may find it a little difficult to use. At the time I stayed there, the guest rooms were locked and unlocked with a metal key, so you may feel a little uneasy about the security. The staff were generally polite, although they kept a little distance.
There are not many bicycles, but there is also a rental bicycle service, so you might want to use it for sightseeing in Onomichi.

総社駅と総社宮をつなぐ『商店街通り』沿いにある、焙煎した珈琲豆を販売するお店です。カフェとしての客席もありますが、5席もなく、店内は焙煎用の豆の袋やコーヒーミルが所狭しと置かれているため、席はあるものの店内でくつろぐための環境ではないと思った方がいいでしょう。スタッフの方々は、口数は少なくどちらかと言えば淡々とした接客対応ですが、注文や会計の際はとても穏やかに対応してくださいました。
焙煎している珈琲豆は南米やアフリカから取り寄せたものが中心で、オリジナルブレンドのものも販売されています。コクが深めで舌触りもまろやかなものが多く、香りも決して強すぎず程よいと感じました。カフェオレやレモン汁を加えたメニューもありますが、決してコーヒーの味を損なわせるものではないように思います。
珈琲豆の購入だけでなく、ドリンクをテイクアウトで注文し、総社の街中を探索するのもいいかもしれません。

This is a shop selling roasted coffee beans, located along the Shotengai Dori street that connects Soja Station and Soja Shrine. Although there are seats for customers, there are less than five, and the shop is crammed with bags of roasted beans and coffee mills, so it's probably best to think of it as a place to relax with a cup of coffee rather than a place to sit down and relax. The staff are rather quiet and unassuming, but they were very calm and polite when taking orders and handling payments.
The coffee beans they roast are mainly from South America and Africa, and they also sell their own original blends. Many of the coffees have a rich, mellow flavor and aroma that isn't too strong. There are also drinks that include café au lait or lemon juice, but I don't think they detract from the taste of the coffee.
As well as buying coffee beans, you could also order a drink to take away and explore the streets of Soja.

総社駅と総社宮をつなぐ『商店街通り』沿いにある、江戸時代から明治時代にかけてこの地の豪商であった堀家の長屋造りの古民家を活用した商業施設です。名前に『カフェ』とあるものの、むしろこれは施設としての名称で、施設内には日替わりでオーナーが入れ替わり、その都度様々なコンセプトに沿ったドリンクや料理が給仕されます。典型的なカフェのようにドリンクとデザートに絞ったものから、田舎の食堂でいただけるような素朴な味わいの定食まで様々で、ホームページでどのような料理が提供されるかを確認することも出来ますが、敢えて確認せずその日のサプライズとして料理を楽しむのもいいかもしれません。料理だけでなくグッズの販売も行っている場合もあります。
カフェとして施設内を利用する際は、玄関で靴を脱ぐ必要があります。店内は胡坐や正座でくつろぐための座卓だけでなく、テーブルと椅子もあります。これらの調度品は新しいものが多いですが、いずれも木調で古民家内部の雰囲気を崩さず調和が取れており、心地よい雰囲気を醸し出していると思います。
私が利用した時は、近隣にお住いと思われる高齢のご婦人方が調理・接客を担当していました。所作はゆっくりめであるもののとても丁寧な対応で、給仕される料理は見た目は全く典型的なところはなく味も素朴ですが、しっかりと拵えられており丁寧に作られた料理だと感じました。
総社市の散策中、あるいは総社宮参拝後の一休憩目的で利用するといいかもしれません。

This is a commercial facility that makes use of the old row houses of the Hori family, who were wealthy merchants in this area from the Edo period to the Meiji period, and is located along the Shotengai Dori street that connects Soja Station and Soja Shrine. Although the name of the facility includes the word "cafe", this is more of a name for the facility, and the owners change on a daily basis, serving drinks and dishes in line with various concepts each time. The menu varies from drinks and desserts like a typical cafe to simple set meals like those you can get at a country restaurant, and you can check what kind of food is served on the website, but you might also want to enjoy the food as a surprise for the day without checking. In some cases, they also sell goods as well as dishes.
When using the facility as a cafe, you will need to take off your shoes at the entrance. Inside the cafe, there are tables and chairs as well as low tables for sitting cross-legged or sitting on the floor. Although many of these furnishings are new, they are all made of wood and blend in with the atmosphere of the old-style house, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
When I visited, elderly ladies who seemed to live nearby were in charge of cooking and serving the customers. Although their movements were a little slow, they were very polite, and the dishes they served were not at all typical in appearance, and although the taste was simple, I felt that it was well-prepared and carefully made.
You might want to use it for a break while strolling around Soja City or after visiting Soja Shrine.

『道の駅なるさわ』に併設されている博物館で、無料で入場出来ますが、1階にある鉱石で作ったジュエリーもしくはアクセサリーのギフトショップのついでのような施設で、博物館としての主題が目的が何なのかがはっきりしない（もしくはぼやけている）ように感じました。
建物内に入るとすぐに目に入るのはギフトショップで、フロアの脇に博物館の入口があります。入口を入ると僅かな灯りしかないくらいに暗く、巨大なT-Rexの頭の模型が展示されています。ループ状になっているスロープを下ると、真ん中に富士山の模型が据えられたフロアに到着します（このフロアには充分な照明があります）。このフロアでは、水晶を主に様々な鉱物・鉱石が展示されていますが、全てが山梨県（あるいは日本国内）で産出された鉱物というわけではありません。産出された水晶の研磨、これまでの（研究や史料等で）分かっている範囲の富士山の噴火、及び溶岩や噴煙の噴出量・方角等も展示されていますが、いずれも概要程度で詳細まで展示されておらず、それこそ鉱物の展示に少し要素を加えた程度のように見受けられました。
博物館としての期待はあまりせず、ギフトショップにある鉱物について紹介している展示スペース、程度に思った方がいいでしょう。

This is a museum attached to the "Roadside Station Narusawa", and admission is free, but it seems like a facility that was tacked on to the gift shop selling jewelry or accessories made from minerals on the first floor, and I felt that the theme and purpose of the museum were unclear (or blurred).
As soon as you enter the building, you will see the gift shop, and the entrance to the museum is on the side of the floor. Once you enter, it's so dark that there is only a little light, and a huge model of a T-Rex head is on display. If you go down the looped ramp, you will arrive at a floor with a model of Mt. Fuji in the center (this floor has sufficient lighting). On this floor, various minerals and ores are on display, with a focus on quartz, but not all of them are minerals that are produced in Yamanashi Prefecture (or in Japan). The exhibition also includes information on the polishing of the crystals that were produced, the eruptions of Mt. Fuji that are known about so far (from research and historical records, etc.), and the amount and direction of the lava and volcanic smoke that was emitted, but all of this is only outlined and not detailed, and it seems that the exhibition of minerals is just a little bit more than that.
You shouldn't have too high expectations of it as a museum, and it's probably best to think of it as a display space in the gift shop that introduces minerals.

武里駅から徒歩7〜8分の場所と駅からやや距離があり、周辺は住宅街でこのレストラン自体もマンションの1階にあることから、レストラン周辺に住む地域住民、とりわけマダム御用達のレストランのように思います。かと言って地域住民の方で客席フロアが埋め尽くされる程混雑しているわけではなく、各席共に程よい距離感を保っているからか、誰でも気軽に気兼ねなく利用できるレストランであるように思います。
赤の椅子と白の壁の基調に、他の調度品も色とりどりであるものの決して過度な色合いではなくシンプルにまとめられ、品のよい雰囲気に包まれています。ランチタイムはやや混雑するものの、レストランの雰囲気や給仕される料理の見た目・味付け、スタッフのサービスの細やかさも相乗して、騒々しい環境になることはほとんど無いでしょう。柱や壁がやや多めでスタッフを見つけづらい・呼びづらい側面があるものの、（少なくとも空いている時間帯は）接客対応はとても丁寧で、不愉快に感じることはまずありません。
店名に『イタリアン』とあるため、パスタやピザの料理もあるものの、カフェの側面がやや大きいからか、一品料理、特に野菜をふんだんに活用した料理が多いように思います。味付けの良さは勿論盛り付けも美しく、見た目としても楽しめます。この店の一番の見どころは、デザートが盛り付けられたプレートのデコレーションです。チョコレートや飴細工を駆使し、様々なキャラクターを模してデコレーションされたプレートは、見るだけでも楽しめ、食べるのが勿体ないと思うかもしれません。
気の合う友人と、ゆったりと寛ぎながらのランチやディナーに最適のお店だと思います。

It's a little way from the station, about 7 or 8 minutes on foot from Takesato Station, and the area around it is a residential area, so it seems to be a restaurant that is popular with the local residents, especially the ladies. However, it's not so crowded that the seating area is full of customers, and because there is a good sense of distance between each seat, it seems to be a restaurant that anyone can use without feeling self-conscious.
The red chairs and white walls are the main colors, and although the other furnishings are also colorful, they are not overly so, and the restaurant is wrapped in a refined atmosphere. Although it can get a little crowded at lunchtime, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the appearance and seasoning of the dishes served, and the attentiveness of the staff all work together to ensure that it rarely becomes a noisy environment. Although there are a lot of pillars and walls, making it a little difficult to find and call the staff, the service is very polite (at least during the quieter times), and you are unlikely to feel uncomfortable.
The name of the restaurant is “Italian”, so there are pasta and pizza dishes, but perhaps because the cafe aspect is a little bigger, there are many single dishes, especially dishes that make good use of vegetables. The dishes are delicious and the presentations are beautiful, so you can enjoy it just by looking at it. The highlight of this restaurant is the decoration of the plates on which the desserts are served. The plates, which are decorated with various characters using chocolate and candy, are fun to look at, and you might think it a shame to eat them.
I think this is the perfect place for a relaxed lunch or dinner with friends.

塩山駅から徒歩2分程度の、甘草屋敷の前に店を構えている、街中の中華料理店です。外観・内装ともに、典型的且つ古き良き時代の雰囲気を醸し出す街中の食堂で、こういったスタイルの食堂は概ね利用者のほとんどが地域住民ですが、塩山駅、甘草屋敷に近い場所にあるためか、観光客の利用も多く見受けられます。そのため、特に休日の昼食時間帯は混雑し、場合により店外に待ち行列が出来る程です。駐車場もありますがスペースはかなり少ないことに注意が必要です。
ご夫婦で店の経営を遣り繰りしているように見受けられます。そのためご夫婦ともに非常に忙しなく動き回り、やや接客対応はぞんざいになっているように感じます。とは言え、長年経営を続けているからか、料理の注文から給仕まで時間がかかるものの、基本的に注文ミスや給仕ミス等は見られません。一方で店内はあまり広くなく、建物の1階にあるものの出入口の扉は手動開閉式であるため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方はやや不便に感じるかもしれません。
少ない人数のスタッフで遣り繰りされているにもかかわらず、料理の種類は非常に豊富です。ラーメンや炒飯等の麺や米を使用した料理が多数あり、その他にも街中の中華料理ならではの大皿料理もあります。お酒もありますが、ラインナップは大衆居酒屋とほぼ同じで、ビールや焼酎が主体です。日本人好みの、辛味や濃い味を抑えた味付けではありますが、リーズナブルな価格で、しかもボリュームたっぷりです。ハイキングの帰り等で利用すると、疲れた身体に多幸感が染み渡るかもしれません。

This Chinese diner is located in front of the Licorice Residence, about a 2-minute walk from Enzan Station. Both the exterior and interior of this diner give off a typical, old-fashioned atmosphere, generally, most of the customers at this kind of diner are local residents, but because it's close to Enzan Station and the Licorice Residence, it's also popular with tourists. For this reason, it's particularly busy at lunchtime on weekends, and there are even times when there is a queue outside the diner. There is a parking lot, but please note that there is very little space.
It seems that the husband and wife are running the diner together. As a result, both husband and wife are very busy moving around, and the service seems a little careless. However, perhaps because they have been running the diner for many years, although it takes time from ordering to serving your dish, there are no basic mistakes in ordering or serving. On the other hand, the diner is not very large, and although it's on the first floor of the building, the entrance door is a manual opening and closing type, so people with disabilities such as wheelchair users may find it a little inconvenient.
Despite being run by a small staff, the diner offers a huge variety of dishes. There are many noodle and rice dishes such as ramen and fried rice, as well as large dishes that are typical of Chinese cuisine in town. There is also a selection of alcohol, but the lineup is almost the same as that of a popular izakaya, with beer and shochu as the main offerings. The dishes are seasoned with less spicy and less strong flavors that Japanese people like, but they are reasonably priced and very filling. If you use them after a hike, you may feel a sense of euphoria spread through your tired body.

かつて塩山の地で長百姓を務めた高野家の屋敷。江戸時代初期より薬草である『甘草』の栽培をしており、その甘草が徳川幕府の御用達に指定されたことから、『甘草屋敷』の呼び名がつけられた。
塩山駅から徒歩1分と非常にアクセスがよく、また塩山駅に停車する電車の本数も決して少なくはなく、都心から気軽にアクセス出来る重要文化財である。駅に近いにも関わらず鉄道の通過時などの音はどこか遠くに聞こえる、と感じる程にのどかで、ゆったりと江戸時代の家屋を鑑賞しつつ周遊するにはピッタリの場所と言える。
屋敷内はもちろん、敷地としても格別に広い、というわけではないため、全てを周遊するのに1時間は要しない。屋敷は3階構造になっているものの、公開されているのは1階のみで、複雑な造りにはなっていないため、屋敷内で迷う機会はまず無い。2月中旬から4月中旬にかけて、この屋敷に江戸時代から伝わる（あるいは寄贈された）ひな人形が所狭しと飾られ、屋敷内が一層豪華に映える。但し、休日でも混雑するほど人が訪れるわけではないため、ほぼいつでもゆったり屋敷を鑑賞できる、と言ってもいいだろう。
また、敷地内ではいまでも甘草を栽培しており、敷地内の蔵では甘草についての展示もされている。屋敷そのものの鑑賞ではなく、甘草そのものを知る上でも勉強になる施設だと思う。

The Takano family's residence, which was once the home of a wealthy farmer in Enzan. The family has been cultivating licorice, a medicinal herb, since the early Edo period, and the residence was given the name "Licorice Residence" because the Tokugawa shogunate designated the family as its official supplier of licorice.
It's an important cultural property that is easily accessible from the center of Tokyo, as it's only a one-minute walk from Enzan Station and there are also not a few trains that stop at Enzan Station. Despite its proximity to the station, the sounds of passing trains are a little distant, and it's a peaceful place that is perfect for taking a leisurely stroll while admiring the Edo-period house.
The grounds are not exceptionally large, so it doesn't take more than an hour to see everything. Although the house has three floors, only the first floor is open to the public, and as it's not a complicated structure, there is no chance of getting lost in the house. From mid-February to mid-April, the house is filled with hina dolls that have been handed down (or donated) from the Edo period, making the house even more luxurious. It's not so crowded that you can't see the house even on holidays, so you can almost always enjoy a leisurely visit.
In addition, licorice is still cultivated on the grounds, and there is also an exhibition about licorice in the storehouse on the grounds. I think this is a facility that is also educational for learning about licorice itself, rather than just appreciating the house itself.

小諸駅の近くにあるカフェです。駅に近いところにあるものの、小諸駅の改札は東側にしかないため、小諸駅からは歩道橋もしくは踏切を利用して行かなければなりません。駅からのアクセスにやや煩わしいと感じるかもしれませんが、あくせくしながら利用するカフェでもないため、ゆったりとした心持で目的の電車を待つまでの一休憩目的で利用するといいでしょう。
建物の同じフロアにコインランドリーがあり、このカフェとの明確な仕切りがないため、コインランドリーの洗剤の香りがほのかに漂うことがあります。
注文カウンターであらかじめ注文と支払いを済ませ、ドリンクや料理の出来上がり次第、カウンターで受け取ります。退店の際は食器やトレイを返却する必要があります。
サイドメニューのサラダを除くと、メインとなる料理はトースト、ホットサンド、ハンバーガーと、パンを使用した料理となりますが、特にトーストはトッピングの種類が豊富で、しかも盛り付けもかなり極端です。非常にシンプルにまとめられている料理もあれば、ボリューム満点で食べ応えがある料理など様々です。あっさりとした軽めの味付けから、やや脂っこく満腹感を味わえるものもあるため、複数種類の料理を注文して互いに一口ずつ交換しながら食べる、というのもいいかもしれません。
席数は20〜30席程度で、ほぼ全ての席が4人向けの構成であるため、大人数でのイートインの利用には向かないと思います。少ない人数のスタッフで、注文・調理・会計等を遣り繰りしているため、注文後の料理の完成にやや時間を要する場合があります。

This is a cafe located near Komoro Station. Although it's close to the station, Komoro Station only has a ticket gate on the east side, so you must use the pedestrian bridge or the level crossing to get there from the station. It may seem a little troublesome to access from the station, but as this is not a cafe you would use in a rush, you could use it as a place to relax and take a break while waiting for your train.
There is a laundromat on the same floor as the cafe, and as there is no clear separation between the two, the faint scent of the detergent from the laundromat may drift over to the cafe.
You can place your order and pay at the counter in advance, and then pick up your food and drink when it's ready. When you leave, you need to return the dishes and trays.
With the exception of the side dishes, the main dishes are all bread-based, such as toast, hot sandwiches and hamburgers, and the toppings for the toast are particularly varied and some of the presentations are quite extreme. Some dishes are very simple, while others are very filling and hearty. Some are lightly seasoned, while others are a little greasy and filling, so it might be a good idea to order a few different dishes and take turns sharing bites with each other.
With around 20 to 30 seats, almost all of which are for four people, it is not suitable for eating in with a large group. As the staff are few in number, they juggle taking orders, cooking, and doing the accounts, so it may take a little time for your food to be ready after you have ordered.

懐古園のほぼ中央に位置し、かつて小諸城の本丸があったところに建立された神社です。本丸自体が小諸城の石垣で張り巡らされていることから、この神社は懐古園の中で最も高いところに位置することになります。とは言え、勾配も緩やかで決して登りづらいところ、というわけではありません。
境内はそれ程広くなく、周遊するだけであれば30分と要しません。境内には小さな庭園がありますが、いわゆる古刹にあるようなこれ見よがしの『日本庭園』然とした庭園ではないものの、美しく手入れされており、特に秋の紅葉や冬の雪化粧は参拝客を楽しませてくれるでしょう。
神社そのものとしては、いわゆる街中によく見られる神社と同じような印象で、少なくとも拝殿等において、この神社ならではの目を見張る特徴はありません。

This shrine is located almost in the center of Kaikoen, and was built on the site of the former main keep of Komoro Castle. As the main keep itself is surrounded by the stone walls of Komoro Castle, this shrine is the highest point in Kaikoen. However, the slope is gentle, so it is not a difficult place to climb.
The precincts are not very large, and it takes less than 30 minutes to walk around them. There is a small garden in the precincts, and although it's not a showy 'Japanese garden' like those you might find at an old temple, it's beautifully maintained and the autumnal foliage and winter snow will delight visitors.
As a shrine itself, it has the same kind of impression as the shrines you often find in the city, and at least in the worship hall, there are no striking features unique to this shrine.

初代富山県知事であった国重正文氏の、在任中に住宅として使用していた建物。元は富山市にあったものだが、1891年（明治24年）に現在地に移築、その後1931年（昭和6年）に天真寺が庭園を含め敷地ごと購入し、現在に至る。
北陸新幹線の黒部宇奈月温泉駅、及び富山地方鉄道の新黒部駅より5分も満たずに到着出来るほど、アクセスがよい。但し、庭園のみ周遊するだけの料金と、松桜閣内を拝観するための料金が異なるが、松桜閣内において別途チケットを確認する係員がいるわけではない。しっかりと指定した料金を回収するために、拝観場所に係員を置くか、庭園周遊の料金と統一した方がいいように思う。
比較的小ぢんまりとした造りで、いずれの部屋もかなり質素な構成となっている。ところどころに調度品があるが、部屋の『侘び寂び』の雰囲気を一切破壊せず、素朴ながら静謐な雰囲気を醸し出している。2階からの庭園の眺めも素晴らしく、季節によってその様相の移り変わりを楽しむことが出来るだろう。新幹線の駅や県道から近い場所にあるにも関わらず、新幹線や車の喧騒があまり聞こえないのも魅力の一つだと思う。
鴨居がかなり低い箇所があり、拝観時には頭をぶつけないように注意が必要である。また廊下も狭いため、すれ違う際は互いに譲り合いながら通行するといいだろう。定期的にメンテナンスはされているものの、古い建物であるため、ところどころで板の軋む音がする。2階へ上がるための階段は、狭くまたやや急であるため、小学生以下は2階へ上がることが出来ない。

This is the building that was used as a residence by the first governor of Toyama Prefecture, Kunishige Masafumi, during his term of office. It was originally located in Toyama City, but was moved to its current location in 1891 (Meiji 24), and then in 1931 (Showa 6), Tenshinji Temple purchased the entire site, including the garden, and it has been there ever since.
It's very easy to get to, being less than 5 minutes from both Kurobe Unazuki Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line and Shin-Kurobe Station on the Toyama Chiho Railway Line. However, there is a difference between the price for just walking around the garden and the price for visiting the Shoushoukaku building, but there is no staff member checking tickets separately inside the Shoushoukaku building. In order to collect the designated fee properly, I think it would be better to have staff at the viewing area or to unify the fee with the fee for walking around the garden.
The building is relatively small, and all the rooms are quite simple in their layout. There are some antiques on display here and there, but they don't destroy the atmosphere of wabi-sabi in the rooms at all, and they create a simple but tranquil atmosphere. The view of the garden from the second floor is also wonderful, and you can enjoy the changing scenery depending on the season. Despite its proximity to the Shinkansen station and the prefectural road, you won't hear much of the hustle and bustle of the Shinkansen or cars, which is one of its charms.
On the other hand, there are some areas with very low door frames, so be careful not to bump your head when visiting. Also, the corridors are narrow, so it's a good idea to give way to each other when passing each other. Although the building is regularly maintained, it's an old building, so you can hear the creaking of the boards in some places. The stairs to the second floor are narrow and rather steep, so children under 12 years of age are not allowed to go upstairs.
