パサデナの街に古くからある伝統あるホテル。しかしその内装は全く古さを感じず、幾何学と単色系を巧みに組み合わせた、スタイリッシュな内装になっています。
このホテルで何よりも印象に残っているのが、常に清潔であることと、従業員の欠かさぬ挨拶。宿泊者とコミュニケーションを図って、快適に過ごしてもらうという姿勢がホテル全体から伝わります。
室内のアメニティはオーソドックスではありますが、これもまた清潔に整っていて使いやすい。転落防止のためか、ブラインドを折りたたむことは出来ず、窓は開けられませんでした。快適ではあるものの、立地などから「部屋の中でのんびり過ごす」ホテルではないため、そこを拠点に、街中の散策やバーやレストランでのひと時を過ごすのにピッタリかもしれません。

カウンター席は10席前後、座席テーブルは2つといった、小ぢんまりとしたお寿司屋さんです。最寄りの駅から少し距離がありますが、逆にその適度な距離感が、ゆっくりと寿司を食べながら話をすることが出来る、落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出しているのかもしれません。
このお店は、近所からのお馴染みのお客さんも多く、色々な楽しい話を、ご店主と交えて話すことも出来ます。
お寿司はもはや言わずもがなですが、お勧めは海鮮料理。生牡蠣や蛤の味噌焼きなど、味は勿論、ご主人の料理の独創性を楽しむことが出来ます。

近隣にあるホテルが立派なだけに、外観および内装が少しみすぼらしく見えてしまいます。その分、価格は安めに設定されています。しかし、エアコンも付けていないにも関わらず諸々の駆動音が煩く眠りにくいのが難点。疲れがとれない可能性もあります。
近隣のホテルも同様のことが言えるのですが、大阪空港から道路をまたいで直接アクセスできる通路等がなく、回り道を強いられます。ホテルの周辺には飲食店が少なく、自動的に大阪空港内のレストランの利用になってしまいますが、それも夜遅くまで営業していないため、自然に飲食できる場所が限られてしまいます。大阪市内にホテルが取れず、致し方なく空港近辺のホテルになったとしても、こちらのホテルはあまりお勧めできません。

リーズナブルな価格設定であるにも関わらず、部屋の中は清潔、ロビーにフリードリンクコーナーが設置されているなど、サービスは充実しています。フロントの対応も丁寧で申し分がありません。難点があるとすれば、1階の大浴場は、一般的な銭湯の浴槽と同じで、シャワーの数も多くないため、大人数で行くと身体を洗うのに待たされる可能性があります。典型的な『温泉旅館の浴場』を期待しない方が無難です。また、駅からやや距離があり、周辺に飲食店はあるものの、数は少ないように思います（休日には、予約で埋まってしまうこともしばしば）。それらを差し引いても、近江八幡の建造物群や琵琶湖の周遊などの観光の拠点に最適かもしれません。

Another one is that it is a bit far from the station, and there are not much restaurants around of it. However, even with these shortcomings, the hotel is a great base for sightseeing tourism of Omi-Hachiman and the around the Lake Biwa.

言わずと知れた目黒の名スポット。人によってはかなりゾワゾワしてしまいそうですが、展示は至ってシンプルで学術的、そしてお子さんにも分かりやすい形式になっています。寄生虫だけでなく寄生生物の標本もあります。
もっと広い展示スペースを想像していましたが、意外とこぢんまりとしていました。無料であることを差し引いても、カップルや親子連れで来館している人が多い、というのもビックリ。かつての日本に比べれば衛生状態は格段と高まったものの、根絶したわけではありませんから、寄生虫の存在、及び罹った時の状況・対処方法を知るにはいい施設だと思います。
海外からの観光客もちらほら見られましたが、展示物はおおむね日本語。英語での紹介もあればいいのかもしれません。

大阪といえば串揚げ。このお店もトンカツが中心のメニューが撮り揃えられています。柔らかく丁寧に仕上げた肉であるにも関わらず、噛み応えがあり、衣もさっくりで、ご飯も進みます。ランチはボリューム満点、そしてディナーでは、夜の肴のアテにも最適なメニューを取りそろえたお店です。

道玄坂から少し脇道に入ったところに店舗を構える、魚料理が中心の居酒屋。薄暗く落ち着いた雰囲気で、大衆居酒屋のような喧騒と、静かなバーの中間くらいの店内。魚料理に箸をつつきながら、話に花を咲かせるにはピッタリです。給仕のタイミングもよく、注文してからあまり待たされる、という印象はありません。
鍋物や焼き物など、魚料理は非常に豊富。料理の質・量ともに良好で、3人で来ましたが2人前のあんこう鍋でも充分にいただくことが出来ました。焼き物も種類が豊富で、決して飽きさせない居酒屋だと思います。

内装、サービス共に可もなく不可もなく。ホテルと言うより旅館風で、アメニティのフロントで渡されるのみで部屋にはほとんどありません。とは言え、周囲はレストランや居酒屋も多く、コンビニエンスストアもありますし、京都観光の拠点として、宿泊のみの利用がベストでしょう。

尾道の商店街から少し歩いたところに店を構える、ワッフルの専門店。やや暗めの照明で落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出し、甘いワッフルの香りとコーヒーの香りが、尾道の坂を登ったりと疲れた身体を癒します。
このお店のワッフルは全て焼きたて。ホクホクのワッフルにバターを塗り、その上にシロップをかけるのが定石。シロップはお好みですので、自分で甘さを調節出来るのも特徴です。
やや難を言えば、ドリンクとのセットが『バターワッフル』しか無いこと。ホイップクリームやジャムをトッピングしたメニューは選り取り見取りなだけに、これはちょっと残念でした。

甲府駅の前にある甲州夢小路の2階にあるフレンチレストラン。夢小路に軒を連ねるお店は夜になると閉店になる中で、夜になっても開いている店で、甲府の夜をフレンチに舌鼓を打ちながら堪能することが出来ます。
フレンチとありますが、店内及び料理は至ってカジュアル。気負いせず料理とお酒を楽しむことが出来るのもいいですね。さらにこのお店の特徴として、山梨県産の野菜やビーフ、チキン、ワインなどを使ったメニューがふんだんに取り揃えられていること。山梨の魅力を存分に味わいながら夜を過ごせそうです。

少し暗めで店内も狭く、昼間でもバーの雰囲気が漂うラーメン屋さん。それでも厨房は景気よく料理を作っている音や声が飛び交い、ラーメン屋ならではの喧騒を感じることが出来ます。
このお店のお勧めは『酒粕拉麺』。日本酒の街・伏見よろしく、日本酒の酒粕をスープに使っています。ベースは鶏ガラと豚骨。もちろん、アルコールはしっかりと飛ばされていますので、子供でも安心して食べられます。
酒粕がスープに使われているラーメン自体初めてですから、まずはスープを。酒粕が引き立てているからか、鶏ガラとも豚骨とも違う、独特の味が広がります。あっさりしていてクセも無く、最後まで美味しくいただけました。このほか、辛味のラーメンもあるので、お好みで選ぶのもいいでしょう。

山陰本線を跨いで東側、水門の手前にあるホテル。中規模程度の大きさではあるものの、城崎温泉のホテルや旅館、温泉宿は山陰本線の西側に集中しているだけに、夜になると暗く、一人や少人数である国は少し怖さを感じる。加えて、ホテルの前の道の側に流れる水路には、ガードレールなどが無いため、暗いと転落の恐れがあるので、注意して歩いた方がいい。
このようにホテルの周辺は不安要素があるものの、ホテルの各室のアメニティは充実している。ユニットバスが狭いのと、壁が薄いため隣の部屋の話し声などが聞こえやすのが難点であるが、温泉に浸かり、ゆっくりと身体を休めるには充分だと思う。家族経営のホテルだからか、深夜・早朝のフロント対応は無い。その代り、入口は24時間開いているので、出入りは自由である。
少なくとも、駐車場界隈の街灯を改善すれば、より一層客を惹き込めると思う。

ドイツビールは勿論のこと、ジャガイモやソーセージのボイル・グリルのメニューがふんだんにあるお店。やや値段は高めではありますが、その分、取り皿に料理を分けてみんなで楽しむ、というメニューが豊富に揃っています。 新橋駅から歩いてすぐの所にありながら、駅周辺の喧騒から少し離れた地下階に店を構えているため、落ち着いた雰囲気で食事とおしゃべりを楽しむことが出来る環境です。
