平塚駅北口から徒歩10分程度のところにある神社である。いわゆる町の中心的でありながら静かに町を見守っているかのような存在で、単に参拝するためだけでなく、市民の憩いの場や散策ルートの一つにもなっている。
神社の敷地の南側には、『東海道』の名を持つ国道一号線の道路があり、平日・休日、昼夜問わず車が走行している。加えて周辺には公共機関が多くあることから、特に昼間、神社の周囲は喧騒が絶えない。とは言え、不愉快に感じる程の騒がしさではなく、典型的な大きな町の神社と言えよう。
神社の境内には公園が隣接されている。敷地を周遊するだけであれば1時間程度で済むほどの広さである。
この神社ならではの特徴的、あるいは目を見張るような建築物や装飾は見られないが、境内の敷地面積と比較すると、豊富に水を湛えている神社であるように感じるかもしれない。一の鳥居をくぐればすぐに東御池と西御池があり、浄銭池の龍の像から勢いよく水が噴き出ている。それ以外にも境内にはそこはかとなく水の気配を感じるだろう。幾度と災害や戦火に見舞われ、その都度立て直してきた神社であるだけに、水に対する感謝の念があるのかもしれない。

This Shinto shrine is located about a 10-minute walk from the north exit of Hiratsuka Station. While situated near the town center, it feels as though it quietly watches over the city, serving not only as a place of worship but also as a relaxing space and part of a local walking route for residents.
On the southern edge of the shrine grounds runs National Route 1, also known as the Tokaido Road, which carries steady traffic day and night on both weekdays and weekends. In addition, many public institutions are located nearby, so the area around the shrine is rarely completely quiet during the daytime. That said, the level of noise is not unpleasant, and the atmosphere is typical of a shrine located in a larger city.
A public park is adjacent to the shrine grounds, and the entire area can be comfortably explored in about an hour. While there are no particularly striking or unique buildings or decorations that stand out visually, visitors may notice that the shrine feels unusually rich in water features relative to its size. Immediately after passing through the first torii gate, you will find the Higashi-Mioike and Nishi-Mioike ponds, as well as a dragon statue at the purification pond from which water flows vigorously. Elsewhere on the grounds, the presence of water can be subtly felt throughout.
Having been repeatedly damaged by natural disasters and warfare over the centuries and rebuilt each time, the shrine may reflect a deep sense of gratitude and reverence toward water as a sustaining and protective force.

北新地駅の西側にある雑居ビルの3階にあるカレー専門のレストランで、毎日のように行列が出来る程の人気店です。店内はあまり広くなく、席数も20席程度です。少ないスタッフの数で切り盛りしているため、大人数での利用は控えた方がいいでしょう。
鯛と鶏の出汁とスリランカ産のスパイスを活用したカレーで、比較的クセが強い香りが印象的です。それは味も勿論で、一口・二口分を口に含んだだけであれば賛否が分かれそうですが、食べれば食べる程、味わい・香り共に「クセになる」感覚で満たされていくのを感じました。シャバシャバしてとろみが全くと言っていい程ないルウと、水分をしっかり抜けさせ、食感もしっかりあるドライカレーの2種類があり、いずれもトッピングにしっかりマッチしています。標準ではパクチーがトッピングされていますが、苦手な人はパクチー抜きで注文することも出来ます。
前述の通り少ないスタッフの数で切り盛りしているものの、それをわきまえているからか、どのスタッフも必要以上にあたふたすることなく、確実で丁寧な接客対応で非常に好印象でした。

This is a curry-focused restaurant located on the third floor of a small multi-tenant building on the west side of Kitashinchi Station. It's extremely popular, with long lines forming almost every day. The interior is compact, with seating for around 20 guests, and it's operated by a small team, so visiting in large groups is best avoided.
The curries are made using sea bream and chicken stock combined with Sri Lankan spices, resulting in a distinctive and fairly strong aroma. The flavor is equally bold: after just one or two bites, opinions may be divided, but the more you eat, the more the taste and aroma become deeply addictive. There are two main styles available—one is a very thin, almost soup-like curry with virtually no thickness, and the other is a well-dried curry with a firm, textured bite. Both pair exceptionally well with the available toppings. Cilantro is included by default, but it can be omitted upon request for those who dislike it.
Despite being run by a small staff, the team appears well aware of their capacity and works calmly and efficiently. Their service is consistently polite and reliable, leaving a very positive impression overall.

宇治駅周辺にあるビジネスホテルの1つです。但し、宇治駅周辺にはホテルは少なく、そのため宿泊場所も自然と限られてしまいます。
しかしこのホテルは、周辺に飲食店が非常に少ないことを除けば、申し分ないホテルだと思います。駅に近いものの周辺は住宅街であるため、夜間はとても静かです。エレベーター等のホテルの設備のモーター等の騒音も極めて少なく（各客室内のバスルーム内の換気扇の電源は自由にコントロール出来ます）、そのため夜は静かにひと時を過ごせると思います。各客室間の壁も薄くはないように感じられ、きちんとプライベート空間を維持できていると思います。
客室が清潔に保たれているのは言うまでもありません。バスルームはやや狭いですが、客室の広さは充分で、大きめのスーツケースを広げられるだけの充分な広さはあると思います。内装も華美な装飾は一切なく落ち着いた色合いとなっています。ホテルの機能面として「ホテルそのものを楽しむ」というには物足りないものの、京都や宇治の観光やビジネスの拠点の一つとして活用するには充分なホテルだと思います。
スタッフの接客対応もとても丁寧で申し分ありませんでした。再度利用したくなるホテルの一つだと感じました。

This is one of the business hotels located near Uji Station. However, there are very few hotels in the Uji Station area, so accommodation options are naturally limited.
That said, aside from the very limited number of nearby restaurants, this hotel is excellent. Although it's close to the station, it's surrounded by a residential neighborhood, making the area very quiet at night. Mechanical noise from hotel facilities such as elevators is minimal, and the bathroom ventilation fan in each room can be freely controlled, allowing for a peaceful stay in the evening. The walls between rooms also do not feel thin, and privacy appears to be well maintained.
The guest rooms are, of course, kept very clean. While the bathroom is somewhat compact, the room itself is spacious enough to comfortably open a large suitcase. The interior design is simple and calm, with no excessive or flashy decoration. While the hotel may feel modest if you are looking to "Enjoy the hotel itself", it's more than sufficient as a base for sightseeing in Kyoto and Uji or for business travel.
The staff's service was consistently polite and professional, leaving a very positive impression. This is a hotel I would be happy to stay at again.

中津市のシンボルであり、中津川の河口の水を堀に引き入れた水城として有名な城の一つである。天守の存在は史料からは確認されず、1964年に模擬天守として再建されたものの、黒塗りの城壁の堂々とした構えは、開けた土地にあるからか遠くからでもよく見え、特に青空の元であれば非常によく映える。
1588年に黒田孝高によって築城が開始されたが、完成したのは大坂の陣直後の1621年で、その時の城主は細川氏であった。1717年に奥平昌成が入封した後、廃城令に伴い破却されるまで、奥平氏が当主を務めた。そのため天守内も多くが奥平氏縁の品が展示されており、天守は『奥平家歴史資料館』とも呼ばれる。
模擬天守とは言え前述の通り中津市のシンボル的存在であるため、天守内は隅々まで綺麗で、清掃もくまなく行き届いている（その代わり、冬は床下が非常に冷たいと感じるかもしれない）。一方で天守を始め城郭の維持目的、民間企業所有の史跡であることの理由からか、大人で入館料1,000円というのは、展示の規模からすると高いように感じる。最上階から中津川の河口や市街地を眺めることが出来るが、大阪城や名古屋城等と比較すると高さがやや低く、特段他にランドマーク等もないことから、やや殺風景に感じるかもしれない。
中津城周辺には様々な史跡が残されているため、中津川河口の散策の過程で訪れてみるといいだろう。

Nakatsu Castle is one of the best-known symbols of Nakatsu City and is famous as a "Water Castle", with its moats fed by water drawn from the mouth of the Nakatsu River. Historical records do not confirm the existence of an original main keep, and the current tenshu was reconstructed in 1964 as a replica. Even so, the castle’s imposing appearance, with its black-lacquered walls, stands out clearly from a distance due to its location on open land, and it looks particularly striking against a clear blue sky.
Construction of the castle began in 1588 under Kuroda Kanbei (Yoshitaka), but it was not completed until 1621, shortly after the Siege of Osaka, when the Hosokawa clan was in control. In 1717, Okudaira Masanari became the lord of the castle, and the Okudaira clan remained in charge until the castle was dismantled following the Meiji-era abolition of castles. As a result, many of the items exhibited inside the keep are closely associated with the Okudaira family, and the tenshu is also known as the "Okudaira Clan Historical Museum".
Although it's a replica keep, Nakatsu Castle remains a symbolic landmark of the city. The interior is well maintained, clean, and carefully preserved throughout (although visitors may find the floors quite cold in winter). On the other hand, possibly due to the costs of maintaining the castle grounds and the fact that it's a privately owned historic site, the adult admission fee of 1,000 yen may feel relatively expensive considering the modest scale of the exhibitions. From the top floor, visitors can enjoy views of the Nakatsu River estuary and the city, but compared with castles such as Osaka Castle or Nagoya Castle, the height is lower, and the scenery may feel somewhat plain due to the lack of prominent landmarks.
As there are various historical sites scattered around the area, Nakatsu Castle is well worth visiting as part of a leisurely walk around the Nakatsu River estuary.

蒲田駅西口の商店街沿いにある小さなうどんの食堂です。客席はあるもののどちらかと言えば立ち食いうどん食堂に近く、店内はかなり狭く、通路も人がすれ違うのもやっとの幅しかありません。建物の1階にありますが、車椅子等の障碍を持った方やスーツケースなどの大きな荷物を持った方の利用はお勧めできません。
ところどころに段ボール箱が雑多に積まれているのに加え、店内もあまり清潔ではありません。それに加えてスタッフの接客対応はよくありません。入店・退店時は勿論、券売機で注文した料理を受け取る際もほぼ無言でやり取りをし、しかも終始仏頂面であるため、あまりいい気分で食事することは出来ませんでした。
一方で、提供されるうどんの食感、汁の味付けは素晴らしいです（盛り付けは雑ですが）。うどんはコシがあり弾力も程よく噛み応えがあります。汁も決して刺激が強すぎず、すっきりとしながらも豊かに口の中に広がる味付けのように感じました。
料理は素晴らしいのですが、店としての環境面・衛生面では利用しづらい食堂のように感じるでしょう。

This is a small udon eatery located along the shopping street near the west exit of Kamata Station. Although there are seats, it feels closer to a standing udon shop. The interior is extremely cramped, with aisles barely wide enough for two people to pass. The shop is on the ground floor, but it's not recommended for wheelchair users or for those carrying large luggage such as suitcases.
Cardboard boxes are piled up in various places, and overall cleanliness is not well maintained. In addition, the staff’s service is poor. From entering and leaving the shop to receiving food ordered via the ticket machine, interactions are almost entirely wordless, and the staff remain expressionless throughout, making the dining experience rather unpleasant.
On the other hand, the quality of the udon itself is excellent. The noodles have good firmness and elasticity, offering a satisfying chew, while the broth is well balanced - clean and mild, yet flavorful and lingering on the palate. The presentation is rough, but the taste stands out.
While the food itself is very good, the shop's environment and hygiene make it a difficult place to recommend for most visitors.

非常に狭いレストランで、客席もカウンター席のみで10席もありません。しかも店の最も奥の席に着席すると、事実上お手洗いの扉が塞がれてしまうことにも注意が必要です（その場合、客同士の譲り合いで利用するしかありません）。カウンター後ろの通路も狭いため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方にはお勧めできません。スーツケースなどの大きな荷物も、あらかじめコインロッカー等に預けた上で利用した方がいいと思います。
立地上、外国人観光客の利用も見かけますが、メニュー始め店内の掲示物は全て日本語のみです。とは言え、各メニューに番号が割り振ってあるので、番号で注文するとスタッフも快く対応してくれます。なお、会計は現金のみです。
各客席も狭苦しく、ゆったりとくつろげる環境ではありませんが、提供されるオムライスは、味付け・食感・盛り付け、いずれも絶品です。ライスを包むオムレツは、トロトロになり過ぎず固くなり過ぎず絶妙な柔らかさで、しっかりとライスと調和のとれた味付けになっています。オムライスにトッピングされた各種ソースや具材も決して濃い味付けにならず、時間が経過してもコクやまろやかさを失っておらず、最後まで美味しくいただけると思います。値段は高めに設定されているものの、いずれのソース・具材もとても美味しそうに見えるため、コンプリート目的で何度も足繁く訪れる人も少なくありません。
とは言え、グループでワイワイ食事を楽しむところではありませんので、比較的空いている時間を狙い、1人もしくは気心の知れた2人で、プチ贅沢の食事に丁度いいかもしれません。

This is a Western-style restaurant mainly specializing in omelets with rice (omurice), located just a short walk from Kanda Station's North Exit.
The restaurant is very small, with fewer than 10 counter seats. If you sit at the innermost seat, you may block the restroom door, so you will need to coordinate with other customers if someone needs to use it. The passageway behind the counter is also very narrow, making the restaurant unsuitable for wheelchair users. Travelers with large luggage, such as suitcases, should store them in a coin locker beforehand.
Due to its central location in Tokyo, foreign visitors are often seen here, but all menus and signs are written only in Japanese. However, each menu item has a number, so you can order easily by using the numbers, and the staff will respond kindly. Payment is cash only.
The seating is cramped and not designed for a leisurely stay, but the omurice is truly outstanding in flavor, texture, and presentation. The omelet wrapping the rice is cooked to perfection - not too runny and not too firm - blending harmoniously with the seasoned rice. The various sauces and toppings are well-balanced, never overly salty, and retain their richness and smoothness until the very last bite. While the prices are somewhat high, each sauce and topping looks delicious, and many regular customers return repeatedly to try all the variations.
That said, this is not a place for lively group gatherings. Instead, it's best enjoyed alone or with one close companion during off-peak hours, making it an excellent choice for a little indulgent meal.

スープの表面に黒マー油（揚げ分けたニンニクに揚げ油とごま油を調合して作られた真っ黒なマー油）が浮かび、香ばしい香りを楽しむことが出来ることで定評なラーメン店の本店です。その一方で必要以上に油っこくなく、スープもギトギトしておらずむしろスッキリな味わいに仕上がっており、麺のコシやトッピングの具材の食感を全く失わせていないように思います。たっぷりと盛り付けられているため、ガッツリと食べたい人に丁度いいかもしれません。
人気店のためランチタイムは平日休日問わず混雑しますが、平日のディナータイムは混雑することはほとんどありません。また、混雑するとはいえ全ての客席がカウンター席で単身者もしくは2人等の少人数で利用する客が多く、おしゃべりもせず黙々と味を楽しむ客が多いため、客の回転も悪くない、という印象です。
店の立地上、車を利用して来店する客が多いように見受けられますが、渋沢駅から徒歩5分程度のところにあることから、駅からのアクセスも良く、仕事帰りの小腹を満たす目的で利用するのもいいかもしれません。
スタッフの接客対応は概ね良好でした。多くの客に対し接客と調理・給仕をするため、一部の食器は油汚れが取り切れていない場合があります。ただ少なくとも、不愉快に感じる程のものでは無いと思います。

Because the restaurant is popular, it becomes crowded during lunch on both weekdays and weekends. However, weekday dinner hours are rarely busy. Even during peak times, the turnover is steady, as all seating consists of counter seats and most guests dine alone or in pairs, focusing quietly on their meal rather than engaging in conversation.
Many customers seem to visit by car, but the restaurant is only about a five-minute walk from Shibusawa Station, making it easily accessible on foot. It can be a convenient stop for a light meal on the way home from work.
Staff service is generally good. Because they serve and cook for a large number of guests, some dishes may occasionally have slight residual oil, but nothing to the extent that would cause discomfort.

熊本駅周辺の（大衆居酒屋を除く）飲食店は、21時に閉店するところが多い中で、数少ない22時まで営業しているレストランです。飛行機や新幹線で夜遅くに熊本駅に到着せざるを得ず、小腹を満たしたい時には丁度いいレストランの選択肢になると思います。
店名に『そば』とある通り、天ぷらそばやとろろそば等の蕎麦料理のメニューが豊富ですが、蕎麦に限らず、うどんや丼物など、いわゆる日本の食堂に見られるような料理も豊富にあります。トッピング、味付け、盛り付け共に奇を衒ったものやこの店ならではの特徴的なものは少なく、典型的な料理が多い、という印象を持つかもしれません。同時に一品料理やお酒の種類も豊富であるため、居酒屋の側面も持ち合わせるレストランであるように思います。店内の照明はやや薄暗く、多くの客席は個室で設えられているため、野卑な騒がしさは少なく仲間内でお喋りをしながら食事をするのにピッタリかもしれません。

This restaurant is one of the few places around Kumamoto Station - excluding casual izakaya-style pubs - that stays open until 10:00 p.m., while many others close at 9:00 p.m. If you arrive at Kumamoto Station late at night by plane or Shinkansen and want a light meal, this can be a very convenient option.
As the name suggests, the restaurant offers a wide variety of soba dishes, such as tempura soba and grated yam soba. In addition to soba, they also serve udon and various rice bowl dishes, similar to what you would find in a typical Japanese diner. The toppings, flavors, and presentation are straightforward and not particularly unique to this restaurant, so you may find the dishes familiar and traditional rather than creative. At the same time, they have a good selection of small side dishes and alcoholic beverages, giving the place a partial izakaya atmosphere.
The lighting inside is somewhat dim, and most of the seating consists of private rooms or semi-private spaces. As a result, the environment is relatively quiet and free from rowdy noise, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a relaxed meal and conversation with friends.

『鶏ガラとんこつ』のスープは、まろやかでコクのある味わいであるのがほとんどですが、一方で（人に依っては）クセが強く後味がくどい、と感じることがあります。このラーメン店は、そのようなまろやかさ・コクはやや控えめで、醤油・白湯・赤辛のいずれかをブレンドしたスープであってもさっぱり目な味わいとなっています。ややこの店ならではの特徴的に欠ける部分があるものの、誰もが食べやすい味に仕上がっていると感じました。
真っ先にお勧めするレストラン、と言う程ではないものの、もし食事処に迷った場合の一つの選択肢として押さえるのもいいかもしれません。

金沢駅至近のホテルで、金沢の観光やビジネスの拠点の一つとしては最適なホテルの1つと言えます。桜や紅葉の季節を始め、金沢の街全体が大いに賑わう時期やイベント開催の時は（他のホテルも同様に）宿泊費が高くなりますが、それ以外は比較的リーズナブルな価格で宿泊できるのも魅力の1つです。
ホテルの外観からも（何回か改修工事がなされているもの）比較的年数を経たような、やや古めかしいホテルであると感じるかもしれません。ロビーや各客室も、綺麗に整えられているものの、ところどころで古さを感じ、清掃では取り切れない汚れも散見されます。そのあたりは宿泊時に特段不愉快に感じる要素にはならないと思いますが、防音についてはやや心許なさを覚えます。廊下や隣室の音はやや聞こえてしまう程度ですが、換気扇をはじめとする駆動音が（部屋にも依るかもしれませんが）耳障りに感じるかもしれません。加えてホテルの目の前は金沢市街の幹線道路であるため、車の往来も多く、特に夜はバイクの音がうるさく鳴り響くことがあります（流石に深夜にはそれらの喧騒は静まりますが）。
意外にもこのホテルは周辺のコンビニエンスストアからやや距離があります。天候が悪い日の食料の調達等は、億劫に感じるかもしれません。
スタッフの接客対応は、特段不愉快に感じるものではなく、一定の距離を保ちながらの接客だと感じました。

This hotel is located very close to Kanazawa Station, making it one of the most convenient bases for sightseeing or business in the city. During peak travel seasons - such as cherry blossom or autumn foliage periods - or during major events when the entire city becomes busy, room rates increase (as is common with other hotels as well). Outside those times, however, the hotel offers relatively reasonable prices, which is one of its appealing points.
From the exterior - which has undergone several renovations - you may feel that the building is somewhat old. Although the lobby and guestrooms are kept clean and orderly, signs of age are noticeable in various places, and some stains remain that regular cleaning can no longer remove. While these aspects are unlikely to significantly detract from your stay, the soundproofing may feel somewhat insufficient. Sounds from the hallway and neighboring rooms can be heard to a degree, and mechanical noises such as the ventilation fan may be bothersome depending on the room. Additionally, the hotel faces one of Kanazawa's main roads, where traffic is heavy; motorcycle noise in particular can be loud at night (though it usually becomes quiet by late night).
Surprisingly, convenience stores are not located very close to the hotel. On days with bad weather, going out to buy food or other necessities may feel inconvenient.
The staff's service is polite and satisfactory, maintaining an appropriate professional distance without being unfriendly.

少なくともこのホテルは、小さな子供連れでの利用はお勧めしません。
博多駅から徒歩5分程度のところにあり、このホテル周辺にも複数のホテルがありますが、その中でも比較的リーズナブルな価格で宿泊出来ると思います。客室やホテルのロビーを含め、清潔に保たれているものの設備的に古さが目立ち、清掃しても落としきれない汚れがいくつか散見されます。部屋はやや狭く、大きめのスーツケースを床に広げるのはかなり心許ないと感じるかもしれません。
それ以上に、このホテルの客室間の壁はかなり薄いのでは？ と訝ってしまうくらいに、廊下や隣室からの音がよく聞こえてしまいます。成人向けの動画をイヤホン等無しで視聴している音声がそのまま聴こえることも少なくありません。人によっては不眠を訴えるかもしれません。
宿泊プランによって、1階のロビーで朝食を食べることが出来ますが、かなり狭苦しいテーブル配置で、あまり落ち着いて食事を摂ることができないと感じるかもしれません。いずれのテーブルも1〜2人向けの構成で、大人数での利用には全くの不向きです。
基本的に滞在を楽しむためのホテル、ではなく、観光やビジネスの拠点としての利用、と考えた方がいいでしょう。

I would not recommend this hotel for families with small children.
The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station and surrounded by several other hotels in the area. Among them, this one is relatively affordable. The lobby and guest rooms are generally clean, but the facilities are quite dated, and there are some stains that seem impossible to remove despite cleaning efforts. The rooms are also on the small side - opening a large suitcase on the floor may be a real challenge.
More concerning, however, is the noise. The walls between rooms seem very thin, and sounds from the hallway and neighboring rooms are often clearly audible. It’s not uncommon to hear adult videos being played without headphones, which can be quite uncomfortable. Light sleepers may find it hard to rest here.
Depending on your plan, breakfast is served in the lobby on the first floor, but the tables are tightly packed and not ideal for a relaxing meal. Most tables are for one or two people, so it’s not suitable for larger groups.
Overall, this is not a hotel for enjoying your stay or relaxing with family, but rather a convenient base for sightseeing or business purposes.

松浦川が唐津湾に注ぐ河口の左岸、唐津湾に突き出た満島山の山の上に築城された城である。現在の天守閣は昭和中期に建造された模擬天守。記録上では江戸時代初期に築城された、とされているが、発掘調査でより古い時代の石垣が発見され、本来の築城年代について現在議論されている。
天守閣まで約200段の階段を登る必要があるが、幸い勾配はそれ程大きくはなく、比較的登りやすい。その一方で有料で利用できるエレベーターもある。
唐津城は別名『舞鶴城』と呼ばれ、満島山一帯が『舞鶴公園』として整備されている。城の内部や周辺だけでなく公園一帯も綺麗に整えられており、地域住民に長く愛されている城であり、公園であることが窺える。春になると山頂の桜が一斉に花開き、地域住民だけでなく多くの観光客が花見に訪れる。
満島山山頂まではエレベーターで昇降できるが、唐津城内部にはエレベーターは無く階段のみである。唐津藩主に代々伝わる甲冑や薙刀、絵図等が展示されているが、多くが唐津藩の藩主を勤めた一族についての説明であり、しかもほとんどが日本語での説明であるため、外国人観光客にはやや物足りないと感じるかもしれない。展示物がある2階と3階のフロアは撮影禁止であるものの、各展示の補足説明をスマートフォンで見るためのQRコードが数か所設置されているところに、違和感を感じるかもしれない。
天守閣の最上階の展望スペースは是非とも訪れてほしい。唐津湾の素晴らしい風景を眺めることが出来る。転落防止の柵はあるものの成人の胸の高さ程度であるため、落とし物や風が強い日の帽子等の吹き飛ばされには注意されたい。

This castle stands atop Mt.Mitsushima, a hill that juts into Karatsu Bay at the left bank where the Matsuura River flows into the sea. The current keep is a reconstruction built in the mid-Showa era; although records suggest the original castle was constructed in the early Edo period, archaeological excavations have uncovered older stone walls, and the true date of its founding is still being debated.
Reaching the keep requires climbing roughly 200 steps. Fortunately, the slope is moderate and manageable, and there is also a paid elevator available as an alternative.
Karatsu Castle is also known as "Maizuru Castle", and the entire Mt.Mitsushima area has been developed into Maizuru Park. Both the interior of the castle and the surrounding park are well maintained, clearly reflecting how long the site has been loved by local residents. In spring, the cherry blossoms around the hilltop bloom spectacularly, attracting both locals and many visitors for hanami.
Although an elevator can take you up to the summit of Mt.Mitsushima, the interior of the castle itself has no elevators - only stairs. The displays inside include armor, polearms, maps, and other items passed down through generations of the Karatsu domain's ruling families. However, most explanations focus on the clans that governed the area and are presented almost entirely in Japanese, which may feel insufficient for international visitors. Photography is prohibited on the second and third floors where the exhibits are located, yet QR codes for supplementary information are installed in several spots - something that may feel slightly inconsistent.
The observation deck on the top floor of the keep is a must-visit. It offers a stunning panoramic view of Karatsu Bay. While there is a safety railing, it reaches only about chest height for an adult, so be careful with loose items - especially hats on windy days - to avoid them being blown away.

新山口駅の新幹線口から徒歩2分程度のところにあるビジネスホテルです。
客室の多さ、ホテルとしての機能面は、全国にある東横INNと同程度で、客室は勿論ロビーに至るまで清潔に保たれており、客室の広さも、大き目のスーツケースを床に開いても尚幾分かのスペースがある程度に広く設定されているため、ビジネスや観光の拠点としての利用に最適なホテルの一つ、と言えると思います。
客室の防音状態は、廊下や隣室の話し声がやや聞こえてしまうものの、特段気になる程の音量では無いように思います。就寝時にはバスルームの換気扇の電源もOFFにすればかなり静かになります。ホテルの目の前の幹線道路も、夜間は車の行き交いもそれ程多くはなく、また外部からの防音もしっかりしているため、ぐっすり眠れると思います。
1階では宿泊者のみに無料で朝食を摂れるサービスがありますが、チェックイン/チェックアウトのロビーとの境界が曖昧で、宿泊者が多い休日等ではロビーにも食事用のテーブルや椅子が配置されていることがあり、出入口と受付との行き交いでやや邪魔に感じることがあるかもしれません。

This business hotel is located about a two-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit of Shin-Yamaguchi Station. The facilities and overall functionality are comparable to other Toyoko Inn properties across Japan. Both the guest rooms and the lobby are kept very clean, and the rooms are spacious enough to open a large suitcase on the floor while still having some room to move around. It's a highly suitable option for both business and sightseeing.
Soundproofing in the rooms is decent - voices from the hallway or neighboring rooms can be faintly heard, but not to an extent that feels disruptive. Turning off the bathroom ventilation fan before bedtime makes the room quite quiet. Even though the hotel faces a major road, nighttime traffic is light, and the exterior soundproofing is effective enough to allow for a good night's sleep.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast on the first floor. However, the boundary between the breakfast area and the check-in/check-out lobby is somewhat unclear. On busy weekends or holidays, extra tables and chairs are placed in the lobby, which can make movement around the entrance and front desk feel a bit cramped.

その名の通り、境内の至る処に紅葉が植えられている神社です。秋が深まる頃には境内の紅葉が燃えるように赤く染まり、毎年のように、地元の人だけでなく多くの観光客も魅了しています。
『紅葉八幡宮』という名は、まるで通称のように感じてしまいますが、神社本庁にも正式名称としてこの名前が登録されているようです。
住宅街に囲まれた場所にあるため、祭事などを除き普段は静かな神社ですが、近隣住民の憩いの場・交流の場の一つ、という側面もあるため、地方の神社でよく見かけるようなさびれた雰囲気は全く感じられません。むしろ常にきれいに保たれ、地域の人たちによって大切に守られ続けてきた、というのが分かります。
高台にあるため、拝殿に至るまで階段を登る必要がありますが、昇降に苦労するほどの段数でも勾配でもないと思います。周辺地域の散策ルートとして、最適な場所の一つだと思います。

This shrine truly lives up to its name, with maple trees planted throughout the precincts. As autumn deepens, the entire shrine turns a fiery red, captivating not only local residents but also many visiting tourists every year.
Although the name "Momiji Hachiman-gu" might sound like a nickname, it's actually the official registered name of the shrine according to the Association of Shinto Shrines.
Located in a quiet residential area, the shrine is generally peaceful except during festivals. It also serves as a place of rest and casual gathering for local residents, so it never feels abandoned or neglected like some rural shrines might. On the contrary, it's always well maintained, clearly cared for and preserved by the community.
Because the shrine sits on elevated ground, visitors need to climb a set of stairs to reach the main hall, but the number of steps and steepness are not particularly challenging. It's an excellent spot to include in a walking route when exploring the surrounding neighborhood.

カウンター席と完全個室で構成されている、質の高い調度品や設えでありながらも気軽に利用しやすい雰囲気も同時に漂わせている鉄板焼きレストランです。コース料理の価格帯もリーズナブルなものからやや高めのものまで幅広く、ちょっとしたプチ贅沢や歓送別会、接待に至るまで、幅広いニーズに対応できるレストランの一つだと思います。名古屋駅に近いためアクセスも良く、周辺は繁華街であるものの店内はその喧騒をほとんど感じず、会話を楽しみながら食事が出来る環境であるのも魅力の一つだと思います。
スタッフは、見た目こそカジュアルであるものの決して不愉快な接客対応はせず、程よい距離感で接客してくれるところに好印象を持ちました。
給仕された料理は、全て美味しく仕上がっているのは言わずもがな、味付けも盛り付けも決して拘り過ぎず、品を高く保ちながらもシンプルである、という印象でした。あくまで主役は客で、料理は質の高いひと時を過ごしてもらうための素材であることを徹底する（≒ 拘り過ぎたり主張し過ぎたりしない）、という印象を持ちました。
気心の知れた仲間内で、特別なひと時を過ごすのにピッタリなレストランだと思います。

The course menu ranges from reasonably priced to more upscale options, making it suitable for a variety of occasions - from a little casual indulgence to farewell parties and even business dinners.
Located near Nagoya Station, the restaurant is easily accessible. Despite being in a bustling downtown area, the interior remains calm and quiet, allowing guests to enjoy their meals and conversations comfortably.
The staff appear casual in style but are consistently polite and professional, maintaining just the right balance of attentiveness without being intrusive - something I found particularly pleasant.
Every dish served was not only delicious but also elegantly simple. Both the seasoning and presentation struck a fine balance - refined yet unpretentious. The restaurant seems to value creating an experience where the guest remains the true centerpiece, with the dishes serving to enhance that quality time rather than overpower it.

予約必須ではありませんが、可能な限り予約をお勧めする洋食レストランです。
秋葉原と上野の中間に位置しますが、御徒町駅からもやや離れているため、昼夜問わず（特に夜は）比較的閑静な場所にあります。周辺に騒がしい居酒屋もほとんど無いため、静かな環境で食事をすることが出来ると思います。
上述の予約推奨の最大の理由は、オーナーお一人で注文・調理・会計を遣り繰りしているためです。そのため予約なしで入店すると、ややぶっきらぼうな対応になりがちです（それでも席に通されれば、距離を保ちつつやや素っ気無いながらも終始確実でテキパキとした接客対応してくれます）。明らかに空席がある場合でも、これ以上対応出来ないと判断された場合は入店を断られる可能性もあります。一品一品丁寧に調理するため、給仕にも時間を要します。席に通されてから会計を済ませ退店するまで、1時間超となることも珍しくありません。
オムライスやタンシチュー、ポークソテーなど、洋食レストランならではの料理が給仕されますが、このレストランならではの目玉料理の一つに、『白いオムライス』があります。オムレツもソースも真っ白で、オムレツはトロトロの半熟状態ではありませんが、ふわふわの食感を保ちつつ形はきちんと整えられています。オムライスの真ん中には半熟卵が入っており、外見からは全く気づきません。オムレツ・ライス・ソースだけでもとても美味しいのですが、そこに半熟卵のトロトロとした食感と風味が加わることでも、素晴らしい体験を得ることが出来ると思います。
このレストランならではのもう一つの特徴が、テーブルだけでなく天井の梁にもビッシリ並べられた、アニメキャラクターのフィギュアです。注文した料理の給仕を待つ間、店内のフィギュアを愛でながら、アニメなどの談議に花を咲かせるのもいいかもしれません。
出入口の扉は手動で、且つ段差があります。上述の通りオーナーお一人で遣り繰りしているため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方の利用はお勧めできません。また支払いも現金もしくはpaypayのみで、クレジットカードは対応していないことにも注意が必要です。

This Western-style restaurant doesn’t require reservations basically, but reservation in advance is highly recommended.
It's located between Akihabara and Ueno, though slightly away from Okachimachi Station, making it a relatively quiet area day and night - especially in the evening. There are few noisy izakayas nearby, so guests can enjoy their meals in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
The main reason for recommending reservations is that the owner single-handedly handles everything - from taking orders and cooking to serving and payment. Because of this, walk-in customers may occasionally find the service a bit curt at first. However, once seated, you'll find the owner’s service efficient, precise, and quietly attentive. Even if there are vacant tables, you might be politely refused entry if the owner judges that he cannot accommodate more guests. Each dish is carefully prepared, so serving takes time; it's not unusual for the entire dining experience to last over an hour from seating to payment.
The menu features classic Western-style Japanese dishes such as omelet rice (omurice), beef tongue stew, and pork sauté. However, the restaurant's signature dish is the "White Omurice". Both the omelet and its sauce are completely white. The omelet isn’t the runny type commonly found in popular omurice restaurants; instead, it has a fluffy yet well-shaped texture. Hidden in the center is a soft-boiled egg-completely invisible from the outside. The harmony of the omelet, rice, and sauce alone is delightful, but when combined with the rich, velvety texture of the soft-boiled egg, it becomes an exceptional culinary experience.
Another charming feature of this restaurant is its décor: anime character figurines line not only the shelves but even the ceiling beams. While waiting for your meal, you can enjoy admiring the collection or chatting about anime with your companions.
Please note that the entrance door is manual and has a step. Because the owner operates the restaurant alone, it's not easily accessible for wheelchair users. Payment is accepted only in cash or via PayPay, credit cards are not accepted.

ひばりヶ丘駅から徒歩2〜3分程度のところにあり、店名にもある通り味噌ラーメンが定評のラーメン店です。
味噌のスープは濃厚でコクがありやや甘め、人によってはややくどく後味が引きやすいと感じるかもしれませんが、一方でクセは強くないように感じました。この店のもう一つの特徴として、トッピングの大きな豚の角煮があります。こちらもじっくりと煮込まれているため柔らかく仕上がっています。豚の角煮も味噌のスープと同様に濃厚な味付けであり、味噌のスープと比較すると甘めの味もやや強め。食べるタイミングが遅くなると角煮が冷えはじめ味もやや鈍くなるように感じるため、温かいうちに食べた方がよさそうです。
テーブル席はあるものの個数は少なく、基本的にカウンター席のみ、と考えた方がよさそうです。そのため大人数での利用は不向きです。加えて店内は（特にカウンター席の後ろの通路は）狭く、出入口には段差もあるため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方の利用は不向きです。スーツケースなどの大きな荷物を持ったままでの利用も控えた方がいいでしょう。
スタッフは一様に元気にハキハキと接客対応しており、非常に好感を持つことが出来ました。

This ramen shop, located about a 2-3 minute walk from Hibari-gaoka Station, is well known for its miso ramen, as the name suggests.
The miso-based soup is thick, rich, and slightly sweet. Some people might find it a bit heavy with a lingering aftertaste, but it doesn't have an overly strong or unusual flavor. Another highlight of this restaurant is the large piece of Buta-Kakuni (braised pork belly) served as a topping. It's slowly simmered to a tender texture and has a deep, flavorful seasoning. The pork is also richly flavored and somewhat sweeter compared to the soup. It's best enjoyed while it's still warm.
Although there are a few table seats, the shop mainly consists of counter seating, so it's better suited for solo diners or pairs rather than large groups. The interior is quite narrow - especially the aisle behind the counter - and there's a small step at the entrance, making it difficult to access for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues. It’s also not ideal to bring large luggage such as suitcases.
The staff are energetic, friendly, and attentive, creating a very positive impression overall.

地蔵川の清流と川底に生い茂る梅花藻を、今も変わらず愛でることが出来る宿場町です。
中世・近世の宿場町の面影を残す家屋はほとんど残されておらず、そのほとんどが昭和以降のノスタルジックな雰囲気を醸し出す家屋となっています。とは言え、それらの家屋には今も生活している住民がおり、清流の水を利用して野菜を洗っていたりなどしています。また夏には川沿いを中心に虫取りで遊ぶ子供たちの姿も見かけるため、ここは宿場町そのもの、というより昭和の原風景を楽しむスポットとして訪れるといいかもしれません。
宿場町自体の規模はそれ程大きくはなく、通り沿いの資料館等を利用せず単に周遊するだけであれば1時間と要しません。前述の通りほとんどが一般の家屋であるため、飲食できるカフェやレストラン等はかなり限られています。とは言え、飲食可能なお店もコーヒーやお茶、軽食がメインで、そもそも休日でも観光に訪れる人は少ないため、特段並ぶなど待ち時間等もほとんどなく利用できると思います。
鉄道利用の場合、醒ヶ井駅から徒歩3〜4分程度でアクセス出来ますが、一方で駐車場は皆無に等しいです（あっても銀行の支店専用のため、観光客向けではありません）。車で来る場合、醒ヶ井駅隣接の駐車場を利用するといいでしょう。

The town remains one of the few places where visitors can still admire the crystal-clear Jizogawa River and the delicate baikamo (water buttercups) swaying beneath its surface.
Most of the old post town houses from the medieval and early modern periods no longer exist. Instead, the streets are now lined with nostalgic homes built during and after the Showa era (mid-20th century). These are not just preserved buildings - many are still inhabited, and you may see locals washing vegetables in the river's clear water. In summer, children can often be seen catching insects along the riverbanks, creating a peaceful, nostalgic atmosphere.
Rather than visiting it as a fully preserved post town, travelers may find it more rewarding to enjoy it as a place that captures the idyllic rural scenery of Showa-era Japan.
The area itself is not very large; if you simply stroll around without entering the small local museum or exhibits, you can see most of it in under an hour. As most of the buildings are private homes, cafes and restaurants are quite limited. However, the few available offer light meals, coffee, or tea, and since the area rarely gets crowded - even on weekends - you can usually relax without waiting.
If you're coming by train, the town is only a 3-4 minute walk from Samegai Station. However, parking is very limited - the few spots nearby are reserved for bank customers. If you're visiting by car, it's best to use the parking lot adjacent to Samegai Station.

上空から見ると堀の形がほぼ正方形、という堀の造形が非常に美しいことで有名な城址である。平山城ではあるが、周辺との高低差はほぼ皆無に等しい平城のようなもので、堀にはなみなみと水が湛えられている。堀の周囲にしろ石垣の上にしろ、転落防止の柵は無いかあるいは低い柵しかない場合があるため、城址の散策中は充分に注意したい。
明治時代の廃城令により城は破却されたものの、前述の堀以外にも石垣が遺構として残されている。石垣は、大阪城や熊本城等で見られるような、隙間なく整然と石が詰まれたものではないが、それでも遠目で見ると石垣全体として整っており、美しい造形を見せている。
大書院を含めても、1〜2時間程度で散策できると思う。ほとんどの展示物は日本語のみで書かれていることもあり、海外からの観光客からするとやや退屈に思うかもしれないが、日本の城跡好きであれば、（少なくとも城址内には）余計とも思える観光スポットが無いからこそ、遺構を様々な確度で観察することに時間を費やせることが出来るかもしれない。天守台の高さも堀から20mも無く、登りやすいこともこの城の魅力の一つだと思う。
堀の内側に小学校があるのは非常に珍しい。当然、小学校敷地内への（観光客含む）関係者以外の立ち入りは厳しく制限されているため、天守等から小学校敷地への落とし物等には充分に注意したい。

This castle ruin is renowned for the beauty of its moat, which forms an almost perfect square when viewed from above. Although classified as a hirayamajiro (a castle built on slightly elevated ground), the terrain around it's nearly flat, giving it the appearance of a hirajiro (flatland castle). The moat remains filled with water. Visitors should take care when walking around the site, as there are few safety fences along the moat and stone walls - some areas have none or only low barriers.
The castle itself was dismantled following the Meiji government's Haijorei (Castle Abolition Order), yet several features such as the moat and sections of the stone walls still remain. Unlike the precisely fitted stones of Osaka Castle or Kumamoto Castle, these walls were built with more irregular stones; however, when viewed from a distance, their overall structure retains an elegant and harmonious appearance.
Exploring the grounds, including the reconstructed Oshoin (main hall), typically takes about one to two hours. Most of the informational displays are written only in Japanese, so international visitors might find the exhibits somewhat difficult to follow. Nevertheless, for those interested in Japanese castle architecture and history, this simplicity can be refreshing - there are few unnecessary tourist distractions, allowing more time to observe and appreciate the remaining structures from various angles.
The tenshudai (main keep foundation) rises less than 20 meters above the moat, making it relatively easy to climb compared to many other castles. This accessibility is one of the site’s understated charms.
An unusual feature of this castle ruin is that an elementary school stands within the inner moat area. Naturally, entry into the school grounds is strictly prohibited to all non-affiliated visitors, so please be careful not to drop personal belongings from elevated areas such as the tenshudai.

『白鬚明神』の異名を持つ猿田彦命を祭神として祀る、全国の白鬚神社の総本社である。琵琶湖畔に鳥居を浮かべ、風光明媚な風景を愛でることができることから、国内外で人気の観光スポットの一つとなっている。
基本的には車で訪れる場所である。観光バス用の駐車スペースもあるが、神社の前を通る国道161号線は平日・休日・昼夜問わずひっきりなしに車が行き交っているため、駐車場に入るタイミングの見計らい等、難しいと感じるかもしれない（特に境内とは反対の車線）。
境内そのものは、階段による昇降があるもののそれ程広くはなく、周遊するだけであれば30分程度で済む。一方でこの神社には、紫式部、松尾芭蕉、与謝野鉄幹・晶子夫妻など、日本を代表する歌人の歌碑が至るところに設置されている。和歌や俳句、古典好きとしては垂涎の神社の一つと言えよう。
もう一つのこの神社の見どころは、琵琶湖畔の鳥居であるが、対岸へ行くための横断歩道や地下道が無い。無理な横断による事故や大挙して対岸に観光客が押し寄せること、対岸は柵等で固く閉ざされていることから、少なくともこの神社の境内から直接行く方法は存在しない（対岸に行く方法が全く無いわけではないが、かなりの遠回りを強いられる）。鳥居の鑑賞は、境内の高台等からの眺望を楽しむ方がよさそうだ。

Shirahige Shrine, dedicated to Sarutahiko-no-Mikoto - also known as "Shirahige Myojin" - is the head shrine of all Shirahige Shrines across Japan. With its iconic torii gate standing in the waters of Lake Biwa, the site has become a popular attraction both domestically and internationally for its scenic beauty.
Access is primarily by car. While there is parking available, including spaces for tour buses, National Route 161 that runs directly in front of the shrine is constantly busy with traffic regardless of weekday, weekend, day, or night. Entering or exiting the parking area can be difficult, especially for cars coming from the opposite lane of traffic.
The shrine grounds themselves are not very large. Although there are some stairways to climb, a full circuit of the precinct can be completed in about 30 minutes. However, what makes this shrine especially appealing to lovers of Japanese literature is the large number of monuments inscribed with poems by some of Japan’s most celebrated poets, such as Murasaki Shikibu, Matsuo Bashō, and the poet couple Tekkan and Akiko Yosano. For those with an interest in waka, haiku, or classical literature, this shrine is a true delight.
Another highlight is the torii gate standing in Lake Biwa. However, there is no pedestrian crossing or underpass that allows direct access to the lakeside opposite the shrine. Attempting to cross the busy road is dangerous, and the lakeshore directly across is fenced off to prevent large crowds from gathering. While it's technically possible to reach the opposite shore by taking a long detour, there is no direct route from the shrine grounds. Therefore, the best way to enjoy the torii is to admire the view from within the shrine grounds, especially from higher vantage points.
