『芸術と文化の集合体』と言っても過言ではない程に魅力の詰まった公園。科学・美術・舞台・神社仏閣・路上パフォーマンス等、古今東西問わずありとあらゆる芸術や文化がこの公園に集っている。特に何らかのイベントがなくても散策するだけで充分に楽しめる広さを誇る。公園に植えられている桜並木は春の東京の名所の代名詞で、花見のために国内外から多くの観光客が訪れる。
東京観光において最も有名なスポットの一つであるだけに、桜が満開の時期を始めイベントが開催されている時は多くの観光客が詰めかけ、時に静かな公園の風情が台無しになることがある。また一部の心無い客によりゴミが散乱し、とても汚い時がある。そのゴミの中の食べ物を狙ってカラスなどが集まり、糞を撒き散らすから余計に汚くなる。混雑している時期や時間帯を避け、マナーを守りながら散策すれば、素晴らしい時間を過ごすことが出来る。

箱根湯本駅周辺にはいくつか喫茶店がありますが、駅と直結する喫茶店はここのみであるため、店内には充分な席数があるにもかかわらず毎日のように混雑します。特に目的のロマンスカーを待つ乗客が待ち時間調整に利用することが多く、客の回転もあまりよくはありません。加えて大人数での利用が多いことが、着席して一息つくことをより難しくしています。箱根からの帰路で、小田原からJRを利用する場合、ここより小田原駅の喫茶店を利用した方がいいかもしれません。
ここで販売されるパンはいずれも美味しく、様々な食感を楽しむことが出来ます。やや高めなのが少し気になりますが、箱根ならではの造形のパンもあるので、見た目でも楽しむことが出来ます。

There are several cafe around Hakone-Yumoto Station, but this is the only one directly connected to the station, so even though there are enough seats inside, it gets crowded every day. The turnover of customers is not very good, especially since passengers waiting for their desired Romance car often use this cafe to adjust their waiting time. In addition, the fact that the train is often used by large groups of people makes it more difficult to take a seat and catch your breath. If you are returning from Hakone by JR from Odawara, you might want to use the coffee shop at Odawara Station instead of this place.
The breads sold here are all delicious and offer a variety of textures. The price is a little high, but you can also enjoy the appearance of the bread as it is shaped in a way that is unique to Hakone.

明治神宮鎮座百年を記念して設けられた美術館です。非常にスタイリッシュでありながら明治神宮の雰囲気に溶け込むような外観です。鬱蒼として森の暗さを象徴するような外観の色とは対照的に、中はとても広く且つ明るく、ホールや休憩スペース等では外の光をふんだんに取り入れるような造りになっています。
1階は、明治神宮の1年を通して行われる行事の紹介や参拝のマナー、明治神宮が如何に今の姿になり、そしてどのように維持されているのかが紹介されています。展示の合間に明治天皇や昭憲皇太后の1年を通した和歌が飾られており、歌を通して1年の営みの変遷を窺い知ることができます。2階は明治天皇や昭憲皇太后のゆかりの品々が展示されており、一部は特別企画ごとに展示の内容を変えています。
展示の数や規模を見る上では、1,000円と言う拝観料はやや高いように思います。英語での説明も併記されておりますが、特に2階の展示はその量が少なく、明治神宮自体は海外からの観光客は多いですが、この美術館は敬遠さえる可能性があります。少なくとも後者は今後の工夫が必要だと思います。

The exterior of the museum is very stylish and seems to blend in with the atmosphere of Meiji Shrine. In contrast to the dense color of the exterior, which symbolizes the darkness of the forest, the inside of the museum is very spacious and bright, and the halls and rest areas are designed to let in plenty of light from the outside.
On the first floor, you can learn about the events that take place at Meiji Shrine throughout the year, the etiquette of visiting the shrine, how Meiji Shrine became what it is today, and how it is maintained. The second floor displays items related to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, and some of the exhibits are changed for special events.
In terms of the number and scale of the exhibits, I think the 1,000 yen fee is a bit high. Although there are explanations in English, the amount of information on display, especially on the second floor, is small. Although Meiji Shrine itself attracts many tourists from overseas, some tourists may be avoided this museum. At the very least, the latter needs to be improved in the future.

東京を代表する神社の一つ。伊勢神宮のように鬱蒼とした森に囲まれ、晴れた日には燦燦と降り注ぐ木漏れ日が気持ちいい。これが人工の森だとは思わせない程に、自然環境のサイクルに委ねられ、人の手は最小限しか入っていない。神社の参拝をしなくても、散歩コースとしてピッタリなスポットだと思う。
山手線を挟んですぐ東側が原宿の商店街であるため、神社の境内の東側はやや人の喧騒が感じられる。しかし社殿に進むにつれてその喧騒は薄れ、本当に都内なのかと思うくらいに自然の音で満たされる。休日や年末年始は多くの人が訪れるため、明治神宮の静寂な雰囲気を味わうには平日の早朝がお勧めだ。
社殿をはじめ、鳥居などの様々な建物は、質素であり典型的な神社の建築構造であるが、それゆえに過度な主張をすることなく神社という聖域に見事に溶け込んでいるように見える。東京を代表するスポットではあるが、あまり固くなりすぎず肩の力を抜きゆったりと境内を歩いてみるといいかもしれない。

Even if you don't visit the shrine, it is a perfect spot for a walk.
As the east side of the shrine is the shopping district of Harajuku, you will feel a bit of the hustle and bustle of people as you walk along the east side of the shrine grounds. However, the hustle and bustle fades away as you proceed to the shrine building in the center of the grounds. You will feel so filled with the sounds of nature that you will wonder if you are really in Tokyo. Since many people visit the shrine on holidays and during the year-end and New Year holidays, early mornings on weekdays are recommended to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of Meiji Shrine.
The shrine main hall, torii gates, and various other buildings are simple and typical of the architectural structure of a shrine, but because of this, they seem to blend in perfectly with the sanctuary of the shrine without being overly assertive. Although it is one of the most popular spots in Tokyo, it would be a good idea to walk around the shrine grounds in a relaxed manner without being too rigid.

ミサが行われている時などを除き、基本的に門戸が開かれている教会。建物自体は新しく、中は誰かがいるわけでもなく何かが行われているわけでもなく、常に厳かな雰囲気で満たされている。色鮮やかな教会のステンドグラスは、島原でのキリシタンの歩みと残酷な運命が描かれている。簡単な説明のみが記述されているのみで、あとは拝観した者の想像に委ねられるが、歩んできた苦労と培われてきた信仰が伝わってくる。
教会内の撮影は基本的に禁止である。

This is a church that doors are basically open except when mass or some events are being held. The building itself is new, although there is no one or anything going on inside, but the atmosphere is always solemn. The brightly colored stained glass windows of the church depict the progress and cruel fate of the Christians in Shimabara. Only a brief description is given, and the rest is left to the imagination of the visitor, but you can feel the hardships they went through and the faith they cultivated.
Taking pictures inside the church is basically prohibited.

島原城周辺は飲食店が少ないため、平日にもかかわらず昼食を利用する客がこのレストランに集中します。14時過ぎでも駐車場が満車の状態で、列を成していることが多く、その人気ぶりがうかがえます。
店内は広く、焦げ茶色の落ち着いた色合いのテーブルや椅子が、純和風の食堂の雰囲気を漂わせます。スタッフの多くは地元の女性で構成され、テキパキと動きながらも丁寧さは損なわれていません。ほぼ全ての席に客が居ても、注文から給仕までの時間はそれほど遅くはなく、だからと言って料理も手を抜いた感じは見られません。盛り付け・味付け共に素晴らしい料理を堪能できます。
島原の郷土料理でもある『具雑煮』をいただきました。餅を小さくまとめていながらもしっかりとした歯ごたえで美味しかったです。島原におけるお勧めのレストランの一つです。

There are not many restaurants around Shimabara Castle, so even on weekdays, many people come to this restaurant for lunch. Even after 2:00 p.m., the parking lot is full and there is often a line of people waiting to get in, which shows how popular the restaurant is.
The interior of the restaurant is spacious, with tables and chairs in subdued shades of dark brown, creating the atmosphere of a pure Japanese diner. The staff, mostly made up of local women, move quickly but without losing their politeness. Even though there are customers in almost every seat, the time from ordering to serving is not too long, and the food does not seem to have been skimped on. The food is excellent in both arrangement and flavor.
I had "Gusozani", a local dish of Shimabara. The rice cakes were small in size, but had a firm crunchy texture and were delicious. This is one of the best restaurants in Shimabara.

長崎駅へ徒歩でも行けるほどに近く、安価に宿泊できる、という点のみが評価できるホテル。いずれの設備も古く、一見すると清潔に保たれているように見えるが、ところどころで清掃の手抜きが見受けられる。ビジネスホテルに一様に見られるバスルームの狭さは言うまでもない。
入り口は階段となっており、車椅子などの身体の不自由な方、大きな荷物を持っている方は利用しづらいように感じる（地下の駐車場からのエレベーターがあるだろうが）。
海外の安いホテルであればこの程度のサービスの質だろうと思うだろうが、日本のホテルの中では質は良くない。長崎観光の拠点としては不向きで、夜遅くにチェックインし朝早くに出発するための宿泊所として利用する方がいいだろう。

It is a hotel that can only be appreciated for two things: it is close enough to Nagasaki Station to be reached on foot, and it is an inexpensive place to stay. All of the facilities are old, and although at first glance they appear to be kept clean, there are signs that cleaning has been cut corners in some places. Needless to say, the bathrooms are small, which is common among business hotels.
The entrance is a staircase, which I feel it is difficult to use for people with physical disabilities such as wheelchairs or people with large luggage (although there may be an elevator from the underground parking lot).
You would think that this would be the quality of service at a cheap hotel outside of Japan, but the quality is not as good as it is in Japan. It is not suitable as a base for sightseeing in Nagasaki, and would be better used as a place to check in late at night and leave early in the morning.

長崎の江戸の歴史の象徴の一つと言うべき観光スポットです。とは言え総面積は約1万5千平方メートルと東京ドームの約3分の1にすぎず、展示を吟味せず周回するだけなら1時間とかかりません。施設内は展示がほとんどであり体験コーナーに類するアトラクションが少ないため、小さな子供は退屈してしまうかもしれません。それでも、江戸時代で唯一欧米に対し開かれた場所がここであるため、当時の欧米の文化や日本との関りを知る上で貴重な史料が多く存在することは間違いなく、歴史好きの人は必ず訪れるべきところだと思います。
観光客を呼び込むための無駄にゴテゴテした派手な演出は無く、淡々と往年の様相を今に伝えようとしているため、味気無さは感じるかもしれませんが想像を掻き立てさせられます。海外からの観光客にも知ってもらうための工夫もあり、多言語による展示も充実しています。

It is a tourist spot that should be called one of the symbols of the history of Edo period in Nagasaki. However, The total area of the facility is only about 15,000 square meters, about one-third the size of Tokyo Dome, and it will take you less than an hour just to go around without examining the exhibits. Since the facility is mostly exhibitions and there are few attractions similar to hands-on corners, small children may get bored. Even so, Dejima was the only place in the Edo period that was open to the Europe, so there are undoubtedly many valuable historical documents that can be used to understand the culture of the West at that time and its relationship with Japan, making it a must-visit for history buffs.
There is no needlessly flashy staging to attract tourists, but rather a simple attempt to tell the story of the past in the present. There is also an effort to make the museum more accessible to tourists from overseas, and there is a full range of exhibits in various languages.

長崎港に面した開放感のある公園。起伏は少なく、木々はあるものの鬱蒼と生い茂るほどの本数が植えられていない。周囲には高層の建物のないため、子供からお年寄りまで広々した開放的な空間を楽しみながら散策することが出来る。
一方で子供が遊べるような遊具は基本的にない。また水辺には転落防止用の柵はあるものの成人の腰くらいの高さであるため、ボールやフリスビーなど遠くへ飛ばして遊ぶことは基本的に出来ない（海に落ちたら回収不可能と思った方がいい）。ウォーキングやジョギング、芝生の上で昼寝など、日ごろの疲れを癒すための場として利用するといいだろう。

It's a park with a sense of openness facing Nagasaki Port. There are few ups and downs, and although there are some trees, they are not so many that they become dense and overgrown. There are no high-rise buildings around, so everyone from children to the elderly can stroll around with enjoying the spacious and open space.
On the other hand, there is basically no playground equipment for children to play on. There are fences along the water's edge to prevent people from falling in, but they are waist-high, so it is basically impossible to play with balls or Frisbees (if they fall into the sea, you should assume that they cannot be recovered).
You can use this park for walking, jogging, or just taking a nap on the grass.

晴れた日には長崎港の爽快な空気を感じることが出来るレストランです。19世紀のアメリカ西部を彷彿させるような内装ですが、雑多な装飾は少なくスタイリッシュで、子供からお年寄りまで幅広く利用できます。
混雑が予想される昼食時を少しずらした時間帯に利用したこともあるかもしれませんが、スタッフの接客態度は概ね良好で、配置されている人数も程よく、無駄に待たされるようなことはありませんでした。長崎と言えば名物のトルコライスで、一つのプレートに様々な料理が盛り付けられているため、盛り付け方次第では味が混ざってしまいますが、それを巧みに避けた盛り付け方であるため、最後まで美味しくいただくことができました。
長崎港散策において是非立ち寄りたいレストランの一つです。

On a clear day, you can feel the fresh air of Nagasaki Port in this restaurant. The interior is reminiscent of the American West in the 19th century, but with less clutter and more style, making it suitable for both children and the elderly.
The staff's attitude toward customers was generally good, although it may have been because we used the restaurant at a slightly different time of the day from the lunch time when crowds are expected. The number of staff assigned to the restaurant was just right, so I did not have to wait unnecessarily for our orders or service.
This is one of the best restaurants to stop by when exploring Nagasaki Port.

金沢を代表する神社の一つであるが、建立自体は明治時代と比較的新しい。社殿などの境内の建立物は典型的だが慎ましい雰囲気の漂うが、この神社の最も特徴的な建物が擬洋風建築の神門だろう。門の上に配置されている搭にはめ込まれたステンドグラスは良く目立ち、観光客の写真撮影スポットの一つとして今も尚人気が高い。一方で門を形作る煉瓦は、まるで中国の楼閣のようであり、それでも神社内の建物として違和感なく、また主張しすぎることなく見事に景観を作り上げている。
境内はそれほど広いわけではないが、兼六園や金沢21世紀美術館とは異なり人もそれほど多くなく静かな雰囲気に包まれている。金沢の歴史に触れつつ少し足を止めてゆったり過ごすには丁度いいところと言える。

It is one of the most famous shrines in Kanazawa, but it is relatively new, having been built in the Meiji era. The shrine's buildings, such as the main shrine building, have a typical but modest atmosphere, but the most distinctive feature of the shrine is the Shinmon gate, a quasi-Western-style building. The stained glass in the tower above the gate stands out and is still a popular photo spot for tourists. On the other hand, the brickwork that forms the gate looks like a Chinese pavilion, it is not too incongruous as a building within the shrine, and it does not overwhelm the scenery.
The precincts of the shrine are not very large, but unlike Kenrokuen Garden and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, there are not so many people and it is surrounded by a quiet atmosphere. It is a good place to stop for a while and relax while experiencing the history of Kanazawa.

木調に設えた店内の内装やテーブル・椅子は、オシャレであるものの派手さはなく、落ち着いた雰囲気が醸し出されています。見たところ最大4名のテーブル構成であるため、大人数では利用しづらいですが、その分騒々しさは少なく快適な雰囲気で食事が楽しめます（とは言え、金沢駅の商業スペースの一角にあり、平日休日問わず人の往来が多く他の店舗もあるため、完全に静かな環境は難しいでしょう）。
オムライスやカレーなど、主に洋食のメニューが取り揃っており、盛り付けも素晴らしく見た目も楽しめます。このレストランを経営する会社が栽培する野菜が使用されている、ということですが、見た目や味だけでは分かりづらく、また、所謂『金沢らしさ』も希薄なため、『金沢の味を求める』という目的での利用では期待を外してしまうでしょう。
金沢駅周辺で昼食を求める際のレストランの一つとして押さえておくといいでしょう。

It is difficult to use the restaurant with a large number of people, as the maximum number of people at a table is four, but it is less noisy and you can enjoy your meal in a comfortable atmosphere (although it is located in a commercial area of Kanazawa Station, and there are many people coming and going on weekdays and holidays, so it is difficult to have a completely quiet environment).
The menu mainly consists of Western dishes such as omelets and curry, and the dishes are wonderfully arranged and visually pleasing. It is said that vegetables grown by the company that runs this restaurant are used, but it is difficult to tell from the appearance and taste, and the "Kanazawa flavor" is not very strong, so if you are looking for a taste of Kanazawa, you may not get what you are looking for.
This is one of the best restaurants to have lunch in the Kanazawa Station area.

明石の魚の棚商店街にある食堂です。地元在住のおばちゃんが調理と給仕をするため、完全な地域密着型のように見えますが、観光客も快く迎えてくれます。主に魚介類を取り扱う商店街の食堂なだけに活気あふれていますが、騒々しくないため気軽に利用できるのもいいですね。
やや空いている時間帯に利用したからか、注文から給仕の質やスピードも申し分ありません。ボリュームたっぷりの明石焼きは甘すぎない味付けで、生地の中のタコの歯ごたえも充分で、それだけでもお腹いっぱいになります。商店街には他にもたくさんのレストランがありますが、迷ったらお勧めしたいところです。

This restaurant is located in the Uo-no-Tana Shopping Arcade in Akashi. The women who live in this area cooks and serves the dishes, so it looks like a completely community-based restaurant, but tourists are welcome to visit. As the restaurant is located in a shopping district that mainly deals in seafood, it is lively, but not too noisy. You'll find it readily available.
Maybe it was because I used it at a slightly empty time of day, the quality and speed of service, from ordering to serving, was impeccable. The hearty Akashiyaki was not too sweetly seasoned and the octopus in the dough was crunchy enough.
There are plenty of other restaurants in the shopping district, but I would recommend this one if you're lost.

神戸には何度も足を運んでいますが、このような素晴らしいお店を知ることが出来たのは幸運と言えます。
お茶漬けを含んだ日本茶を活用した料理やドリンクが堪能できる喫茶店で、和のテイストをふんだんに取り入れていながら決して堅苦しさはありません。昔の日本の一般家庭の台所に見られる、竈のような雰囲気に、無駄を削ぎ落した現代風の雰囲気を組み合わせたような内装で、日本人だけでなく外国人も容易に受け入れられると思います。
様々な日本茶の茶葉を楽しめます。基本的にお茶の淹れ方は自由ですが、美味しく飲むための淹れ方が記された簡単な手順書が各テーブルに置いてあります（残念ながら全て日本語です）。和菓子の盛り付け方もシンプルながら独特で、味だけでなく見た目も楽しめます。オーナーも気さくな方で、お茶の知識も非常に豊富です。気軽にお茶の話題に花を咲かせることが出来るでしょう。店内では、茶葉の他器も販売されているため、いいお土産になると思います。

This is a cafe where you can enjoy dishes and drinks that make use of Japanese tea, including oatmeal. The interior of the cafe has an abundance of Japanese atmosphere, but is not stuffy. The interior design is a combination of the stove like atmosphere seen in the kitchens of ordinary Japanese homes in the past and a modern atmosphere with a minimal amount of waste. I think not only the Japanese but also foreigners will find it easy to enjoy.
You can enjoy a variety of Japanese tea leaves. There are basically no restrictions on how to brew tea, but simple instructions on how to make a good cup of tea are available at each table (those are written in Japanese). The way the Japanese sweets are arranged is simple but unique, and you can enjoy not only the taste but also the appearance. The owner is also a friendly and has a great deal of knowledge about tea.
It also sell tea leaves and vessels, so you'll have a good souvenir to take home.

典型的な沖縄の居酒屋という雰囲気のお店です。日曜の夜ということもあり、客の数もそれほど多くなかったため、すぐに着席出来ましたし料理の注文から給仕までのスピードも申し分ありません。スタッフも総じてフレンドリーですが、テキパキと動いており、サービス面でも特に不愉快な点は見当たりません。
ソーキソバやゴーヤチャンプルー等、沖縄料理の定番料理をいただきました。盛り付けや味付けに奇を衒ったところはありませんが、その分特に気構えることなく安心して食べることが出来ます。
1人や少人数でのんびり、もしくは大人数でワイワイ楽しむ居酒屋として丁度いいお店だと思います。

The atmosphere of this restaurant is typical Okinawan Izakaya. As it was a Sunday night, the number of customers was not so many, so we were seated quickly and the speed from ordering to serving was perfect. The staff are generally friendly, but they work quickly and efficiently, and I didn't find the service to be particularly unpleasant.
We were given standard Okinawan dishes such as Soki-Soba and Goya Chanpuru. There is nothing fancy in the presentation or seasoning, you can enjoy your meal without feeling like you're in a stuffy state of mind.
I think it's just the right place for one person, a small group of people to relax, or a large group of people to enjoy a good time.

東急ハーベスト有馬六彩内にあるビュッフェスタイルのレストランです。レストラン内は広々としており、落ち着いた色合いのセンスのある調度品が使われています。Tシャツなどのカジュアルな格好で行くと少し委縮してしまうかもしれませんが、ドレスコードの指定はなく、気兼ねなく利用できます。
一皿一皿盛り付けられた料理と比較すれば質はやや落ちますが、バラエティ豊かで種類も豊富にあり、温度調節も丁度いいため、総じて質は高いように見受けられます。ウィルス感染予防・感染拡大防止も、使い捨て手袋の用意や席は宿泊客ごとに決められているなど、独自の工夫が採られています。
素晴らしい食事の時間を楽しむことが出来ると思います。

It is a buffet-style restaurant in Tokyu Harvest Arima Rokusai. The restaurant is spacious, with tasteful furnishings in muted colors. If you wear a casual outfit such as a t-shirt, you may feel a little delegated, but there is no dress code and you can feel free to use it.
The quality of the food is a bit lower than the individual plates, but the variety of dishes is richer, and the temperature control is just right, so the overall quality appears to be high. To prevent the spread of viral infections, disposable gloves are provided and seats are reserved for each guest.
I think you'll enjoy a great mealtime.

有馬温泉の温泉街から少し離れたところにありますが、その分静かでゆったりと寛ぐことが出来るホテルです。充分な広さの部屋からの眺めも良く、自然豊かな空気を堪能できます。部屋の広さと比較するとバスルームはやや狭いように感じますが、広々とした大浴場があるため、ほとんど気にならないでしょう。
ホテル内には、大浴場やレストランだけでなくプールやフィットネスジムも併設されています。ホテル内でほとんどの生活に必要な施設が整っているため、ある程度まとまった期間の滞在にもうってつけのホテルと言えます。子供やお年寄り、障碍者も利用しやすいような配慮も多く、誰でも気兼ねなく利用できるのも素晴らしいです。

有馬温泉街の高台にあるため、有馬温泉駅から徒歩での移動は、それほど遠くはないとは言え坂道を上がるのに苦労します（特に大きな荷物を持っている場合）。大人数であれば車での移動が最適ですが、温泉街の道は狭く一部の道はすれ違いが出来ないので注意が必要です。また勾配にホテルが建てられている関係上、ホテルの内部構造はやや複雑です。小さな子供は迷子になりやすいので注意が必要です。

一部でやや難がありますが、スタッフの接客対応を含めても総じて素晴らしいホテルだと思います。

The hotel is located a short distance from the hot spring resort of Arima Onsen, but that doesn't stop it from being a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The view from the ample sized rooms is good and you can enjoy the natural atmosphere. The bathroom seems a bit small compared to the size of the rooms, but you'll barely notice because there is the spacious large bathrooms.
The hotel has a swimming pool and fitness gym as well as a large bathroom and restaurant. The hotel has all the facilities necessary for most of the activities, making it a great choice for a stay of some length. It's also great that there are many facilities for children, the elderly, and the physically challenged, so everyone can use the hotel without hesitation.

The hotel is located on high ground in the Arima Onsen town, so if you're walking from Arima Onsen Station, you'll have a hard time getting up the hill, even if it's not too far (especially if you're carrying a lot of luggage). If you're traveling with more than one person, it's best to drive, but be aware that the roads in this area are narrow and you can't pass each other on some of the roads.
Also, due to the fact that the hotel is built on a slope, the internal structure of the hotel is a bit complicated. Small children can easily get lost, so be careful. There is free internet service available, but it is very slow, especially upstream. If you are staying for work purposes, you may find it somewhat inconvenient.

Although there are a few difficulties in some points, the hotel is generally excellent, including the staff's treatment of guests.

沖縄戦の残酷な運命を辿った資料が展示されている資料館。どれ一つとっても目を背けたくなるような凄惨な光景が目に飛び込んでくる。戦争によって、沖縄にもたらされた残酷な運命を学ぶのに重要な資料館と言える。

一方、展示の仕方はどこまでも『沖縄に暮らしていた住民の目線』であり、戦争全体の大局の部分はほとんど無い。現地住民を虐げたのは、敵対国の兵士だけでなく味方のはずの日本兵も多くいた、という。恐らくそれは事実なのだろう。しかし沖縄戦は特に凄惨を極めた戦場で、そこに兵を投入すれば誰もが極限状態になり、生き残るためになりふり構わなくなる。
そういった心理状態は想像に任せるしかなく、いくら事実でもミクロの視点ではどうしても偏った情報のみになってしまう。

これからの未来に戦争を避けるために必要なことを学ぶ上で、この資料館の情報だけを鵜呑みにすることは良くないが、それでも無視することは出来ない。戦争を知らない世代なら猶更のこと、あらゆる視点を持ち、当時の全ての当事者の心象を想像しながら、戦争を起こさない、平和を維持し続けることの意味を学ばなければならない、そのように感じた資料館だった。

"Whatever the cause of that war, killing people against another, friend or foe, drives all of us crazy."
It is a museum where the materials that led to the brutal fate of the Battle of Okinawa are on display. Most of the materials on display depict a horrific scene that makes you want to turn away from it. It is an important museum to learn about the cruel fate brought to Okinawa by the war.

On the other hand, the exhibition is presented from the "perspective of the Okinawan people" and there is almost no overall picture of the whole war. It is said that not only enemy soldiers but also many Japanese soldiers, who were supposed to be allies, abused the local population. Perhaps that is true. However, the Battle of Okinawa was a particularly horrific battlefield, and if you throw troops into it, everyone goes to extremes and does what they have to do to survive.
We can only imagine such a state of mind. Even if they are true, they will inevitably be biased only if they are told from only micro perspective.

In learning what we need to do to avoid war in the future, it's not a good idea to rely solely on the information in this museum. But you can never ignore it, either.
If you don't know about the war, you have to learn what it means to not start it and keep the peace by taking all perspectives and imagining the mental images of all the parties involved at the time. That's how I felt at the museum.

衣はサクサク、肉厚な肉は歯ごたえもよくジューシーに仕上げられているトンカツを堪能できるトンカツレストランです。比較的リーズナブルな価格で食べられる定食でも丁寧に拵えられているのが分かります。接客もとても丁寧で、特に申し分はありません。
一方、営業日であるにもかかわらず、入り口の灯りが灯っているのかどうか分からないくらいに暗かったので、やや不安に思いました。
同じ系列の店が池袋にもありますが、こちらは、特に夜間は地域密着型の食堂の役割を担っているようにも感じます。前述の通り特に夜間は地域密着型の食堂のような雰囲気であるため、夕食にふらっと立ち寄る、という利用はややしづらい印象を持ちます。店内の構造も関係するのか、酔っぱらった客の大きな声が響き、あまり落ち着いて食事をする雰囲気ではありませんでした。接客も馴染みの客や地域客に比重が置かれ気味なところも、気にする人はするかもしれません。
素晴らしい料理が提供されるだけに、一部残念な点が見られたレストランです。

This is a Tonkatsu restaurant that serves a very high quality Tonkatsu set meal. Even the reasonably priced set meals are carefully prepared. The meat is never too richly seasoned and you'll feel fully satisfied after your meal. The customer service is basically polite and perfect.
On the other hand, even though it was a business day, I was somewhat concerned because it was so dark that I couldn't tell if the lights at the entrance were lit or not.
There is a similar restaurant in Ikebukuro, but this one has a more community-oriented atmosphere. This may make it difficult for first-time customers to use the restaurant for meal. The structure of the restaurant makes it sound like a loud, drunken customer. This made it difficult to eat in a very relaxed manner. The customer service was courteous, but I felt that it put more weight on the familiar customers.
The restaurant is a disappointment in some respects, as the food is excellent.

東京駅丸の内口のシンボルである煉瓦造りの駅舎を真正面で見ることが出来る広場です。
広場といっても公園ではないため、遊具は無く休憩場所も皆無です（街路樹があるところで腰かけている人が居ますが、いわゆるベンチはありません）。当然、ここで遊びに興じることは出来ません。
煉瓦造りの駅舎を背景に写真撮影する人が大勢いるため、待ち合わせには最適ですがあまり長い時間滞在することはお勧めしません（特に夜間）。また東京駅丸の内口は複数の出入り口があるため、待ち合わせには具体的な場所を指定することをお勧めします。

You can see the symbolic brick building of Tokyo Station's Marunouchi Exit directly in front of the plaza.
The plaza is not a park, and there are no playground equipment or places to rest (some people sit on the street trees, but there are no so-called benches). Naturally, you can't play here.
The brick building is a great backdrop for photo ops, and while it's a great place to meet people, it's not recommended to stay for long, especially at night. The Marunouchi Exit of Tokyo Station has multiple entrances and exits, so it's best to have a specific location in mind when meeting up.
