『本展は、2021年のアメリカ・ボカラトン美術館を皮切りに、世界各地で開催され、高い評価を得ています。各国における開催での累計来場者数は54万人を突破しました。

ペルー政府公認の本展は、アジアでは初開催となります。日本初上陸となる本展では、ペルーの首都・リマにあり、世界的にも有名な考古学博物館「ラルコ博物館」より貸与された、貴重な文化財約130点を展示します。

2012年の「インカ帝国展」以来、国内では13年ぶりとなるマチュピチュ関連の巡回展としても注目

今回の巡回展に際して日本にやってくる約130点のペルーの至宝の中でも特に、王族の墓から出土した黄金の装飾品や神殿儀式で用いられた祭具などは、初めてペルー国外に貸し出される展示品です。日本で初公開の貴重な資料を通じて、古代アンデス文明の叡智や芸術を間近に体感できます。また、世界遺産マチュピチュを独自の技術で再現した没入型空間や、アンデス神話の英雄「アイ・アパエック」の冒険を軸に展開される壮大な物語とともに、来場者をかつてない知的冒険へといざないます。』とのこと･･･

About the Museum
The Museo Larco was established in 1926 by Rafael Larco Hoyle, a pioneer of Peruvian archaeology, and it houses a fascinating collection of pre-Columbian art composed of around 45,000 objects.
Situated in an 18th century viceroyalty mansion and surrounded by beautiful gardens, the Museo Larco is a space that stimulates and inspires, where it is possible to enjoy and learn more about the fascinating history of ancient Peru.

Mission and Vision
The Museo Larco’s mission is to inspire our visitors and encourage them to discover, understand and appreciate pre-Columbian Peru. In order to achieve this objective, we have worked to transform the museum into a complete experience.

これは、神話的英雄アイ・アパエックの物語です。彼は西暦100年から800年頃、ペルー北部の緑豊かな肥沃な谷を耕したモチェ文化の指導者です。

太陽が沈んだ時、アイ・アパエックは自分の土地が永遠に暗闇に包まれてしまうのではないかと恐れました。彼は、共同体の存続に必要な太陽を取り戻し、エネルギーと温かさを回復することを固く決意して旅立ちます。それはアンデスの生と死の循環を象徴する旅でした。

3つの世界を旅した彼は、手強い課題に直面し、超自然的な力を身につけ、命を失いますが、生まれ変わって故郷に帰り、こうして生命の継続を確実なものにします。

This is the story of the mythological superhero Ai Apaec, a leader of the Moche who farmed the green, fertile valleys of northern Peru from100 C.E. - 800 C.E.

As the Sunsets, Ai Apac becomes alarmed that his land will be enveloped forever in total darkness. Determined to retrieve the Sun and the energy and warmth needed for the survival of his community, he embarks on a journey that characterizes the Andean circle of life.

He travels through the three worlds, faces formidable challenges, gains superpowers, sacrifices his life, and returns home reborn, ensuring the continuity of life.

袋に入った魔法のライマメを持ち、仲間のトカゲと犬を従えて、ハゲワシの背に乗ったアイ・アパエックは山を飛び越えていきます。

異世界を行来するトカゲの能力は、砂漠と太陽を表す金色と、空と水を表すターコイズという補色の組み合わせで表現されています。

Atop the buzzard with his bag of magic lima beans and friends, the lizard and dog, by his side, Ai Apaec ascends the mountain.

The lizard's ability to shuffle between worlds is expressed in the complementary colors of gold for the desert and Sun and turquoise for sky and water.

忠実な犬とトカゲを従えて、アイ・アパエックはアメリカハゲワシに乗ります。この鳥は彼らを地上世界から天空の世界へと運んでくれます。太陽がすでに去ってしまったことを知った3人の仲間たちは、その消えゆく光を海の果てまで追いかけます。

Accompanied by his faithful dog and lizard, Ai Apac climbs onto a turkey buzzard who transports them from the Terrestrial to the Upper World. On discovering that the Sun-has. already left the three friends chase its fading rays to the edge of the ocean.

この容器には、アイ・アパエックの水中の旅、その死と再生が記録されています。器を振ると、空洞の台座の中で陶製のビーズが転がり、この器に命を吹き込みます。

This vessel records Ai Apaec's underwater journey, his death, and rebirth. Ceramic beads roll around inside its hollow pedestal when shaken, animating the bowl.

水辺でアイ・アパエックは、海の入り口を守る番人であるカニと戦わなければなりません。この戦いの報酬として、カニは強靭で硬い脚の力を彼に授けます。

At the water's edge Ai Apaec must fight the Crab, the guardian of the entry to the sea. In return, the crustacean will bestow the power of his strong, hard legs.

カニに姿を変えたアイ・アパエックは、その超自然的な力を呼び起こして岩や砂を上り、水中を歩き、太陽を追って海の内なる世界へ入っていきます。

Transformed into a crab, Ai Apaec summons the crustacean's superpower as he clambers over rocks and sand and walks underwater, following the Sun into the Inner World of the ocean.

彼の次の相手はフグです。フグのかぶっていたフクロウの冠は、暗闇で物を見る能力と深海を見通すカをアイ・アパエックに授けます。

アイ・アパエックは、再生する魔法のライマメとひきかえに超自然的な力を授かりますが、戦いのたびに彼の体力、気力、生命力は耗していきます。

His next opponent is the Pufferfish whose Owl Crown grants Ai Apaec night vision and the power to see in the ocean's depths.

Ai Apac receives superpowers in return for his regenerating magic lima beans but each battle further drains his strength, energy, and vitality.


アイ・アパエックは、踏みつけた者を誰でも中毒させる鋭い棘を持ったウニと対決し、これを破ります。

Ai Apaec confronts and defeats the Sea Urchin, whose sharp spines poison all who step on him.
