『本展は、2021年のアメリカ・ボカラトン美術館を皮切りに、世界各地で開催され、高い評価を得ています。各国における開催での累計来場者数は54万人を突破しました。

ペルー政府公認の本展は、アジアでは初開催となります。日本初上陸となる本展では、ペルーの首都・リマにあり、世界的にも有名な考古学博物館「ラルコ博物館」より貸与された、貴重な文化財約130点を展示します。

2012年の「インカ帝国展」以来、国内では13年ぶりとなるマチュピチュ関連の巡回展としても注目

今回の巡回展に際して日本にやってくる約130点のペルーの至宝の中でも特に、王族の墓から出土した黄金の装飾品や神殿儀式で用いられた祭具などは、初めてペルー国外に貸し出される展示品です。日本で初公開の貴重な資料を通じて、古代アンデス文明の叡智や芸術を間近に体感できます。また、世界遺産マチュピチュを独自の技術で再現した没入型空間や、アンデス神話の英雄「アイ・アパエック」の冒険を軸に展開される壮大な物語とともに、来場者をかつてない知的冒険へといざないます。』とのこと･･･

About the Museum
The Museo Larco was established in 1926 by Rafael Larco Hoyle, a pioneer of Peruvian archaeology, and it houses a fascinating collection of pre-Columbian art composed of around 45,000 objects.
Situated in an 18th century viceroyalty mansion and surrounded by beautiful gardens, the Museo Larco is a space that stimulates and inspires, where it is possible to enjoy and learn more about the fascinating history of ancient Peru.

His next opponent is the Pufferfish whose Owl Crown grants Ai Apaec night vision and the power to see in the ocean's depths.

Ai Apac receives superpowers in return for his regenerating magic lima beans but each battle further drains his strength, energy, and vitality.

Ai Apaec confronts and defeats the Sea Urchin, whose sharp spines poison all who step on him.

アイ・アパエックはフグに姿を変えました。彼は身を守るためにトゥミカを持ち、貴重なフクロウの冠を身につけて、地下世界へと足を踏み入れます。

Ai Apac's body is transformed into the Pufferfish. He grasps a tumi knife for self-defense and wearing the prized Owl Crown, he enters the Underworld.

深海へ潜ったアイ・アパエックは、巨大な巻見、ストロンバスと対決します。神々は「プトウト」、つまりトランペットを使ってコミュニケーションを取っていました。この大きな螺旋状のホラガイの殻は、生命に不可な自然の永遠の循環を宿しています。

Descending deeper into the ocean, Ai Apaec confronts the Strombus, the Giant Snail. The gods communicate through the pututu, or trumpet-its large spiraling Conch shell that holds the perpetual natural cycles essential for life.

巻貝を破った後、アイ・アパエックは、甲冑のようなホラガイの殻を身につけます。後に彼は、共同体の永遠の存続を保証する毎年の恵みの雨と引き換えに、ホラガイを山の神に捧げます。

After defeating the Snail, Ai Apaec dons the armored Conch shell. Later, he offers the Conch to the God of the Mountain in return for annual life-giving rains that ensure the community's eternal survival.

年老いて衰弱したアイ・アパエックは、海の最も深く暗い領域へ潜り、そこで恐るべき処刑人と対決します。サメ、エイ、アシカの要素を同等に併せ持つ海の神は、アイ・アパエックの首をはねます。

Weak and aged, Ai Apac enters the darkest ocean depths where he confronts the fearsome Decapitator. Equal parts shark, ray, and sea lion, the sea god slices off Ai Apac's head.

処刑人に打ち負かされたアイ・アパエックは、祖先の世界へと足を踏み入れるのです。死を迎えた彼は、丸い目を持った死体となりますが、その姿はトランス状態のシャーマンによく似ています。

Defeated by the Decapitator, Ai Apaec enters the World of the Ancestors. In death, he becomes a cadaver with round eyes, like a shaman in a trance.

疲れ果て、皺の刻まれた顔をしたアイ・アパエックは、今や老人の姿をしています。フクロウの冠は失われましたが、ヘビの頭の耳飾りはまだあるため、彼は地下世界へ入ることができます。

Exhausted, with a wrinkled face, Ai Apaec has become an old man. The Owl Crown is gone but, snakehead ear ornaments intact, he can enter the Underworld.

英雄アイ・アパエックは、生ける者たちの地を去らなければなりません。2羽の鳥、カツオドリとハゲワシに支えられ、彼は祖先の地へ下っていきます。

The heroic Ai Apaec must leave the Land of the Living. Supported by two birds-a booby and avulture - he descends into the Land of the Ancestors.

ヒーラーやシャーマンは、フクロウの持つ女性的な癒しの力と結びつけられていました。アイ・アパエックより受胎したパチャママは生命のを樹を産みます。彼らの結合は、この英雄の力の復活を示し、共同体全体の存続を保証するのです。

Healers or shamans are associated with the restorative female power of owls. Fertilized by Ai Apaec, the Pachamama gives birth to the Tree of Life. Their union signals the return of the hero's potency and guarantees continued life for the whole community.

The powerful and healing female Shaman Owl welcomes Ai Apaec into the Land of the Ancestors. She cares for him, restoring his life and his fertilizing male powers.


アイ・アパエックは、大地と豊穣の女神パチャママと結合し、彼女の持つ強力な女性的な力によって、再び完全な存在となるのです。

Ai Apaec unites with the Pachamama, the Earth and Fertility Goddess, whose formidable female powers make him whole again.

この杯は、祖先の肥沃の力を讃える儀式で、儀礼用の飲み物や体液を捧げるのに使われていたと思われます。銀は金と同様、貴重で神聖なものでした。支配階級だけがこれを所有し、使用できたのです。

This cup was likely used to present ritual drinks or body fluids during ceremonies to celebrate the fertilizing power of the ancestors.Silver, like gold, was precious and sacred. Only the ruling elite could own and use it.

こうして共同体は豊作を保証され、3つの世界すべてがつながりました。暗闇から救われた太陽は、毎日戻ってくるでしょう。大地には恵みの雨が降り、種は芽吹いて成長を始めるのです。生命の循環は続きます。

The community is guaranteed successful harvests and all three worlds are united. The Sun has been rescued from the darkness and will return each day. The life-giving rains will fall, seeds germinate and grow. The cycle of life will continue.

アイ・アパエックは故郷に戻る前、旅のしめくくりとなる最後の場所へ向かいます。彼は犬とトカゲを伴って山へ巡礼に出かけ、ホラガイを生命の液体を司る神に捧げ、引き換えに毎年の恵みの雨を得るのです。

Ai Apac makes one final stop before returning home. Accompanied by the dog and lizard, he makes a pilgrimage to the mountain. He offers the Conch to the God of the Vital Liquid in return for the guarantee of annual rains.
