《東京から日帰り》#5　広島県　広島・宮島・尾道

東京から日帰りで全都道府県めぐりの第5回目は広島県です。

広島県は見所が多い！そして散らばっている！

まずは世界遺産。1つの県に2つあるのは現時点（2013/5）で奈良と広島だけ。

日本三景の一つ、安芸の宮島をはじめ、風光明媚な場所も多い！おかげさまで撮影枚数は257枚と5回の中で最多。今回は写真をいつもより絞らないといけない・・・

そういえば広島では外国人観光客を多く見かけました。英語を話すフリーガイドも結構いました。

そんな国際観光都市　広島のベタな観光名所を東京から日帰りで廻ってみました。行程はこちらです。

A day trip from Tokyo #5 - Hiroshima prefecture
Hiroshima city, Miyajima Island & Onomichi

I took a day trip to Hiroshima Prefecture from Tokyo.
I took JL1601(6:50 Tokyo/Haneda to 8:15 Hiroshima) for outward, and Shinkansen for return.
But actually I don't recommend this trip for most foreigners as this trip was too busy :(
Three- or four-day trip for this area would be nice - maybe 1 day for Hiroshima city center, 1-2 day(s) for Miyajima Island and 1 day for Onomichi.

Hiroshima city has a major site, "The A-Bomb Dome," which has been preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you know, a B29 bomber, "the Enola Gay" for the United States Air Force, dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima to force Japan to surrender. Over 70,000 people were killed instantly by the blast, and over 200,000 people died due to after-effects.

At the convention of The World Heritage Committee, United States voted against the proposition to designate it as a World Heritage site (by using the phrase "USA is dissociating"), and forced to delete the text "the first use of nuclear weapons" from the report. China voted against it as well ("reservations on the approval"). According to the report, the reason is that "few people" (substantially Japanese) will use the dome for "harmful" purpose if it is designated as a World Heritage site.

Miyajima Island has Itsukushima Shrine, which is also a famous World Heritage site. This shrine has famous "floating" torii (the gate of the shrine), which is set in the sea. The virgin forest covers the island so that hiking or bird watching in Mount Misen is very popular for Japanese travelers. Miyajima is also known as the top 3 beautiful view in Japan from 17th century. I think visiting the island will definitely be a wonderful memory of trip in Japan for non-Japanese travelers.

I'd like to definitely recommend visiting Onomichi as well. This quiet small town preserves old town - narrow streets (mostly stone paths), old Japanese-style houses and many ancient temples and shrines. Wandering the street is best to feel traditional Japan.

ちなみに広島空港へレンタカーを返す旅程の方は、空港近くのガソリンスタンドは最低最悪なので、空港エリア外で給油してから戻る方が賢明です。しまなみ海道渡って広島空港に来た際に、これを知らなくてえらい目にあいました。

電話で確認したら間違えてたらしい。

いつも家の周辺はタクシーどころか人がいないし、電車じゃ間に合わない・・・

と、あたふたしていましたが、たまたま家の前を通りかかったタクシーがいたのでセーフ！

広島空港では空港内に市内への直通バスチケットを買う場所があります。

で、並んでいたら見知らぬ若者が「すみません、切符いらなくなっちゃったんで　安く買っていただけませんか？」

海外では1000%断るところ。結構迷ったのですが1000円で買っちゃいました。信じてよかったんですよね！？

今日は朝からいろいろあるわ・・・

券売機に並ばなかった甲斐もありすぐのバスに間に合いそう。
そして、おそるおそる先ほど受け取ったチケットを提示してみると・・・OKでした。

バスターミナルから出てきたところです。
付近に「シャレオ」という名の看板を発見。「おしゃれ」をモジった名前の地下街なんだとか。

写真右の建物はリーガロイヤル広島。150mだそうで、日本最古の超高層ビルの霞ヶ関ビル（147m）とほぼ互角。

バスターミナルを出た通りを左に進むと広島城に着きます。
原爆ドームに直行の予定で組んでいたため時間がないので、10分で見ます。

なんと自動ドアつきのお城！

広島城は戦時中原爆で吹き飛んだらしく、その後再建されたものなんだとか。
内部がどの程度再現されているのかは不明ですが、城全体がレプリカ。つまりお城という名のビルです。

ちなみに展示室内は撮影禁止だそうですが、今回は展示物などには目もくれず天守閣をひたすら目指します。

一応二つの世界遺産が見えるんですね。

広島城内の護国神社前にタクシーがたむろしていたので原爆ドームまでピックアップ。

なんと運転手さん、芸人の有吉さんの小学生時代の少年スポーツチームの監督さんだとか。お話もおもしろく、終始にこやかな、感じのいい白髪紳士でした。
こういう出会いはとても嬉しいですね。

原爆ドーム！噂どおり、思ったより小っちゃい！

なぜか今工事しちゃっているのでなるべく足組みが見えないように撮ってみました。

なんともいえない気持ちになります。。

原爆ドームのすぐ横に相生橋があります。

原爆はこの橋を目標に投下されたそうです。実際の着地点はちょっとずれています。島医院の前に看板がありました。

A B29 bomber aimed the dropping point of the atomic bomb, but the actual point was slightly different.
It was not destroyed by the atomic blast, but it had a heavy damage.
It is located near the dome.

It is next to the dome, across the bridge.

平和の鐘。公園に入ってすぐのところにあります。

この日は天気も良くて外国人観光客がいっぱい！鐘を撞いて手を合わせていました。平和を願う心は世界共通。

Almost travelers ring the bell slowly to pray for the world peace.

鐘を突く部分には原子力のマークが刻まれているんだとか！

川を再び渡り、遊歩道を原爆ドームの反対方向に歩くと「ヒロシマの碑」なるものがあります。

上のオブジェは、もはや何だかわからなくなっていますが ”原爆の爆風に吹き飛ばされた犠牲者の姿” だそうです。

碑の下には次のような詩がありました（一部抜粋）。
　天が　まっかに　燃えたとき
　わたしの　からだは　とかされた

周辺には他にも様々なオブジェがありますが、この二つぐらいをみれば十分に戦争について考えられると思います。

慰霊碑、供養塔、被爆した墓石などいくつかまわりましたが、長くなってしまうので割愛してしまいます。

You can find a lot of monuments in the park.
But this gave me a strong impression.

The object shows a victim who was blown by the bomb's blast.

The poem under the object says as follows (excerpts);

I recommend visiting Peace Memorial Museum in the park when you come here. You can think more deeply about the war by means of photos and videos.

I was so busy (repeatedly mentioned :() that I couldn't go to the museum this day.

この先には平和の灯、広島平和記念資料館があります。写真にはないですが、平和祈念館というのもあります。

広島原爆死没者追悼平和祈念館は、展示内容は薄めですが無料なのがうれしい！

広島平和記念資料館は本来はぜひ訪れたいスポット。入場料は激安なのに、内容はめっちゃ濃い！ショッキングな写真も多々あります。混みすぎているのが難点で、1時間30分くらいはみたほうがいいです。別日に訪問済ですし、今回はそんな時間ないのでカットします。

I highly recommend to visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Admission fee is very cheap but exhibition is so great, definetely a must-see! Visit early morning to avoid overcrowded.

原爆ドームから宮島までは電車だとちょっと行きづらいのですが、直通の船があります。

原爆ドームから川沿いに歩くと乗り場があります。原爆ドーム前にも船がいますがそれではありません。

原爆ドームを見る前に買っておいたのですが正解でした。船の割に結構人が多いので、早めに買わないと希望の時間のに乗れないかもしれません。

チケットを買うとチケット（手前）のほかに番号札を渡されます。
船に乗るときに番号札を係員に渡すシステム。

途中、沿岸沿いの工場地帯や瀬戸内海の島々をながめながら45分程度で宮島に到着です。
本当は11:15に到着予定のところ10分遅れていますが誤差の範囲でしょう。

宮島、意外と山がすごい！

手前の夫婦は思いっきりカメラ目線くださったので修正させていただきました。

厳密には野生ではないとのですが、餌はあげてはいけないそうです。
お菓子をあげてたら鹿に囲まれて身動きが取れなくなったお婆さんがいました。気をつけましょう。

記念碑をちょっと歩くと表参道商店街（通称清盛通り）があります。

商店街の一角に「世界一の大杓子」というのがあります。

宮島は杓子が有名で、厳島神社でも杓子や杓文字をお土産で売っています。

食いっぱぐれのないように的な意味の縁起物としてあちこちの神社で売ってたりしますが宮島のはそれとは違い、臭いがつかないとか米がくっつかないとかで特別いい物らしいです。

町家通りをしばらく歩くと五重塔が見えてきました。近くまで登ってみます。

その向かいに千畳閣（せんじょうかく）という建物があります。
豊臣秀吉の命令で建てられた読経所なんですが、途中で死んでしまい未完成のままだそうです。

これは中に入れるので軽くのぞいてみました。

左を向くと厳島神社です。

この時間は潮が引いて陸地がみえています。絶対海に浮かんだ様子を見たい場合は、事前に潮見表をみていくといいですね。

写真では写っていませんが陸地っぽいところで遊んでいる人もいました。

神社内は回廊一本道になっていて、いくつかある神社を順番に回っていくスタイルです。

有名な回廊の床の構造ですが、本当に釘を使っていなくて、ちょっと感動。
少し隙間を開けておいて、高潮や台風のときに波で床が飛んでいかないようにしています。

It is a kind of cushion at high tide or when a typhoon comes.

And it is amazing that no nails use for it.

上の写真で人だかりができていたのは祓具待ちの人。
各自で祓具を左右左と振ってお祓いをします。

It is used for cleaning or purification of visitor's spirit before meeting with god.

お祓いを済ませると客(まろうど)神社というのがあります。
5柱の神様を祀っているようです。

Itsukushima shrine is a kind of collective of some small shrines.

First shrine is Maroudo shrine.
It is dedicated to five deities but I'm not so sure about them.

しばらく歩くと「鏡の池」なるものがあります。
この水面に映る月を詠んだ和歌が多く残されているようです。

厳島八景の一つらしいのですが八個全部見る時間はありません。。

It means a "mirror pond" in English.
There were a lot of "Waka" (Japanese ancient poetry) poets who wrote the scene that it reflects moon on its surface at night.

引き潮の厳島神社も美しいです。

今度は手水舎がありました。
ここは手を清めるだけで口は濯がないようです。

It's time for purification again.
It is used for purification of visitor's spirit to pour the "sacred" water over your hands.

3柱の女神が祀られているほかに、30柱の神様もいるそうです。

Main shrine

This shrine is dedicated to three deities, all are female.
It was founded in 593.

You can pray here even you are not a Shintoist (Shinto religion worshiper).

御本社のお参りを済ませるとお守りなどの厳島神社グッズコーナー。杓子も売っていました。

Right after the main shrine, you can buy some goods at the official shop of shrine.

Popular goods are, for example, many types of Omamori(amulet), Ema(a wooden plaque) and these rice scoop.

おみくじは神様のお言葉という位置づけですよね。

「始凶末吉」
はじめは凶だが終わりは吉なのでおとなしくしてろ、的なお言葉でした。

「商売」のところ、買ったものが届かないそうです（笑）そりゃ困ります・・・

It says the situation will be getting better so you have to keep easy or quiet.

It also says "goods you bought will not be delivered."
Oh, no...

おみくじはここに結び付けましたが、持って帰ってじっくり読み返してみてもいいと思います。

People often tie Omikuji to communicate his thought to god.
I tied my Omikuji here - praying that "please deliver goods I bought!"

おみくじ付近はこのように回廊が出っ張っていて、海の際まで近付くことができます。

一番突端にある灯篭の手前だと鳥居が正面に写るので、みなさん記念写真を撮っていました。

気付けば結構水面が高くなっているような・・・

中州で遊んでる人たちはそろそろ陸に戻ったほうがよさそうな感じですね。

おみくじを結ぶところの裏あたりにひっそりともう一つ神社があります。
大国神社（だいこくじんじゃ）。大国主命が祀られているそうです。

Last shrine - Daikoku Shrine

It is dedicated to Ookuni-nushi-no-mikoto (a god who made Japan in ancient myth).
Actually a lot of shrines are dedicated to him, for example Izumo Taisha in Shimane prefecture, and this shrine as well.

出口付近に能舞台がありました。日本で唯一海上にあるものだそう。
これを見終わると厳島神社も終わりです。

This is the last attraction of Itsukushima Shrine.
In Japan, this is the only Noh stage on the sea.

ものの30分弱で世界遺産の神社を見終えた後はお待ちかねの腹ごしらえ。
広島の人に勧められた「ふじたや」のあなごめしに挑戦です。

ものの10分ちょっとであなごめし屋を後にし厳島神社に戻ってみると、海水が！

もう1時間もすればきっと海の中の神社っぽく見えるでしょうね。

淡い水色と神社の朱色が綺麗。今度来る機会があったら水のある時間帯にお参りしたいです。

宮島の商店街ではあちこちで焼き牡蠣を売っています。相場は2個で400円くらいっぽいです。

You can easily find the oyster shops around Miyajima.
I had a couple of grilled oysters.

牡蠣を鹿に取られず無事食べ終わり、宮島を満喫したところでそろそろ本州へ戻ります。

宮島松大汽船とJR西日本フェリーの2社が宮島口へのフェリーを出しています。
今回は宮島松大汽船をチョイス。

行きだとJRに乗ると船からも大鳥居をみられるんだとか。

First, I went to Hiroshima station by a local train.

駅の中に観光案内所があるのでそこで無料の地図を入手したらさっそく尾道散歩にでかけます！

注意しなければいけないのは千光寺ケーブルカーの下りの最終便が17:15と1時間後なこと。遅くとも17:00の便で登っていないと下りに間に合いません。

もう夕方でほとんどのお寺は閉まっているのでお寺ではあまり時間を使わず風景を楽しみながら行きました。

タクシーの運転手が言っていましたが尾道はなんでも閉まるのが早いそう。ケーブルカー、お寺、お土産屋のみならずラーメン屋も遅くまでやっていないそうです。

観光案内所でもらった地図に古寺めぐりのルートが書いてあったので今回はそれをなぞって歩いてみます。地図では道が赤く塗られていてとてもわかりやすいです。

ちょっと歩いたらもう最初のお寺の入り口です。

「にぎり仏」といってお土産用の粘土細工のような仏像を作ることが出来るそうです。予約不要とのことですので時間のある方は是非。

今日は時間がないのでパスします。。

軽くお参りを済ませ次のお寺へ。
細い路地を進みます。石畳と相俟って素敵すぎます。

It was a very narrow street, but somehow I felt relax around here.

光明寺です。

すでに閉店ガラガラでした。

光明寺のお墓です。失礼して1枚撮影しました。

変わったかたちのお墓が多いですよね。一説によると船をかたどったものだそうで、舟形光背（ふながたこうはい）というそうです。

This temple has unique gravestones, which are in the shape of the cockboat.

I wonder they are fisherman's graves.

境内に第12代横綱の手形がありました。

こちらもすでに閉店ガラガラ状態。

境内にお地蔵様がいました。

右上の張り紙に書いてあるのは、幸せの「はひふへほ」
は　半分でいい
ひ　人並みでいい
ふ　普通でいい
へ　平凡でいい
ほ　ほんの少しでいい

This temple has six Jizo (Buddhist stone statues).
The poster above Jizo says the five things to be happy in life;
1. Don't be greedy
2. Don't be beyond your means
3. Don't be special
4. Don't be stimulative
5. Don't be too much
I think these kind of ways of thinking are truly like Japanese.

線路をはさんで左側（北側）は古い町並みですが、右側（南側）は新しい建物が並んでいます。

のどかでいい風景です。

千光寺新道をひた登ります。

すごい階段！

5月の夕方だというのに汗ばんできました。。真夏の昼間だとどのくらい暑いんだろう。。

近くに三重塔がありました。これは天寧寺というお寺のものです。尾道で有名な三重の塔は西國寺のものでこれとは違います。
天寧寺のは室町時代（1388年）に、西國寺のは1429年に建てられたそうなのでこちらのほうが先輩です。

こちらが天寧寺の本堂。塔から少し下ったところにあります。

五百羅漢！本堂ではなく、境内の奥の方にある別の建物にあります。

This temple has Gohyaku-rakan (five hundred rakan).
Rakan means the follower of Buddha.

When I saw this, I couldn't help praying...

その他境内にはおかしな格好の木が生えていたりちょっと不思議な空間。

写真手前の石碑には合掌の妙徳なるものが。
神仏に合掌すれば信となり
父母に合掌すれば孝となり
お互に合掌すれば和となり
長上に合唱すれば敬となり
無私に合掌すれば慈となり
自分に合掌すれば人造となる

Teaching is written on the stone in front of the strange tree.

Praying for the god is to be religious devotion,
Praying for parents is to be filial piety,
Praying for people is to be harmony,
Praying for seniors is to be respect,
Praying without favor is to be affection,
Praying for yourself is to be enlightenment.

This is more persuasive than the five things to be happy.

天寧寺から階段をくだりいよいよロープウェーに向かいます。時間が微妙・・・

途中、線路をくぐるのですがガードがなくて、びっくり。

17:00発の登りに間に合いました。下りもロープウェーに乗りたかったのでこれが実質最終。

千光寺山へ向けて出発です。

たった3分の移動なのですがもっと見ていたいくらいです。

島並みも綺麗！

海側の景色を眺めまくっていたらうっかり千光寺を撮るのを忘れてしまった。。折り返しの下りでチャレンジします。

山頂駅では猫の駅長（レプリカ）がお出迎え。

山頂駅のそばにも何箇所か眺めのいい場所があります。

折り返しまでの10分ちょっと、周辺の文学碑などを見学していました。

本来はここで戻らずに、近くにある展望台にのぼり千光寺を途中通りながら下ってくる、というのが王道な気がします。。

さて、麓への折り返しの時間！最終便です。

今度は駅の方向をチェック。

工場みたいなのが見えてややテンション下がりますが、それでもトータルではいい景色です。

そしてお待ちかね！
千光寺です。

ロープウェーから見るお寺が一番かっこいい気がします。
よく見ると、半分崖からはみ出して建っているんですね。

続いてさっきの天寧寺三重塔。
さっきは近すぎてうまく撮れませんでしたが、ロープウェーからだと良く見えます。

そうこうしているうちに着いちゃいました。

ロープウェーは実は神社の上を通っているのですが、その神社に行ってみました。
艮（うしとら）神社といいます。尾道では最古の神社だとか。

This is the oldest shrine in Onomichi.

ちょっとシャッターチャンスを逃してしまった感が否めないですが、神社の上をロープウェーが行く様子が見えるかと思います。

お参りをすませ、恒例のおみくじです。

ずばり、「中吉」！
「旅行　何れに行くも損なし」

後ろには神の教えが書いてありました。
「胸のむら雲、はらえばすぐに、神の光がてりわたる」

It says that you don't get a bad deal when traveling.
That's so nice!

境内には樹齢900年とか1000年いう超高齢な楠がありました。某所では樹齢2600年とか書いてありましたが、何が本当やら。
とりあえず有り難い楠だということがわかりました。

そろそろ夕飯時ということで尾道名物、尾道ラーメンを食べに行きました。代名詞ともいえる朱華園。
ここは、メニューは中華そば（ラーメン）とワンタンの2種類のみ。シンプル・イズ・ザ・ベスト。

初めて尾道ラーメンを食べました。
麺はものすごく好みでした。小麦な感じが強く、パスタみたいな食感です。スープは普通の醤油ラーメンと同じな感じかな。背脂が特徴的なくらいでしょうか。

I thought it may be suitable for foreigner's taste.

近くの商店街をぶらり。

ぶらりしようと思ったのですがすでに半分閉店ガラガラ状態。
おみやげに「はっさくの風」を購入。これが意外と好評でした。

This is the main shopping street but almost already closed.

I ought to say again, cheking opening hours is the most important thing for all Onomichi visitors.

It would be the shortest ferry boarding in Japan.

答えは「車は徐行」

なぜこんな小さい字！？

もとは車道って書いてあったっぽいです。

船を降りてすぐ、映画「あした」ロケセットがありました。
リアルのバスの停留所として使われているようです。

待望の尾道ビュー。きれい！！
しばし見とれていました。

駅方面！廃墟のお城風建造物が映えますね。
（注）お城風建造物は、もとはリアルのお城ではなく、博物館だったそうです。

Actually it is not the castle, it was a museum.
But the museum is bankrupt... so it's just a ruin now.

そろそろ帰る時間。船に乗って本州側に戻り、駅に向かいます。

ギャラリー兼雑貨屋さんだそうです。

帰りの電車の時間まで駅前の広場で夕景を見ていました。
駅から海が近くていいですね。

尾道駅に戻ってきました。

東京に戻ります。今回は飛行機ではなく新幹線で戻ります。
まずは普通電車で福山まで。

新幹線ホームから福山城が見えました。
今度は本物のお城。空襲で焼け、再建されたものだそうです。

最後にまとめ。

【広島市内】
・原爆ドーム・平和公園は戦争を考える場所として必見。
・広島城は時間なければパスしてOK。

【宮島】
・厳島神社は絶対必見！
・あなごめし、焼き牡蠣もオススメ。
・時間があれば弥山もいいのかも？

【尾道】
・古寺めぐりは好きな人にはよさげ。路地は趣があり楽しい。
・本当は朝から半日がかりでまわるものかも。

  今までの旅も想像以上にスゴすぎるのかも!!

  古寺巡りとラーメンどころか向島までも!!
  ツボを抑えられた旅プランに完全脱帽です(>_<)
  
  原爆ドームですが
  ５月連休空けから２５年ぶりの耐震調査が始まってしまって・・・。
  
  宮島の弥山でも展望台を建替中で機材搬入の関係で
  山頂封鎖が時々されている模様。
  ある意味、今しか見れない風景を見られたのかもしれません。
  
  
  平和公園のモニュメントや厳島神社の手水鉢など
  まだまだ私の知らない場所がありました(>_<)
  
  見慣れてあたりまえになった風景

  再発見させて頂き旅行記楽しませていただきました（●＾o＾●）

  広島は初上陸だったのですが
  過去5回の中で1番見ごたえがありました。
  島なみ、めちゃくちゃ綺麗ですね！
  
  当初は往復飛行機にする予定だったのですが
  尾道を入れると最終便に間に合わず
  どうしようか悩むこと3ヶ月（汗）
  
  結局終電から逆算して無理やり尾道部分をつくったのですが
  そのせいで西國寺がカットになりました。。(>人<)南無阿弥陀仏
  何事にも合理性を求めすぎてはいけませんね。。
