6歳のゴーリは日本でお仕事中のパパに会いにニューデリーからやってきました。パパは東大で海洋科学技術の研究をしています。
Gauri, 6 years old Indian girl came to Japan to see her Dad who is
researching Marine Science and Technology as a postdoctoral
research fellow at the Tokyo University.

今日はママと唐辛子婆と一緒に昭和記念公園へやってきました。
Today, Gauri visited Showa Kinen Park with her Mom and Tougarashibaba.

池の前にたくさんの蓮の花が咲いてる。
We found a bunch of lotus flowers in front of the pond

東大の農場から連れて来られたんですって。
which were brought from the farm of Tokyo University.

Mom was so pleased

to see the fantastic scenery.

唐辛子婆もこの池でボートに乗るのは初めて！
It's also the first time for Tougarashibaba to ride on a boat in this pond.

好奇心がいっぱいで頭のいいゴーリは日本でママの話す外国語の会話を
おどろくほどピックアップ！
Being smart and curious, Gauri amazingly picked up her mom’ｓ
conversation in other languages .

日本滞在のわずかなうちに英語と日本語をしゃべってる。
She is speaking English and Japanese despite her short period of stay in Japan.

オレンジの浮きと草のところには近づかないでと言われたって
６歳児のハンドルさばき。
Although adviced not to get too close to bush and orange colour buoys,
It was difficult for 6 years old girl to avoid those obstacles.

草むらにつっこんぢゃってあらま！どうしやう？
We got stuck at the bush! Oh my god!

漕ぐのを逆転させたら脱出できました。
We could escape from the bush at last after reversed the pedal.

池の中から岸辺をながむるの新鮮！
It's so refreshing to look around the bank from the pond.

メタセコイヤの並木が美しい。
A beautiful row of metasequoia!

わっ！鯉がついてくるよ！
Look! Carps are following us!

名残惜しさうなゴーリ。
Gairi looks sooooo sorry to leave here.

カキ氷に夢中
Gauri is enjoying shaved ice.

夏の公園の手入れは大変ねえ！
凶暴な草たちと格闘です。
It's hard to maintain the summer park!
They are battling with the wild grass.

子供の森めざして走るゴーリ。
Gauri is running to the Children's Forest.

靴擦れができてひと休みのママ。
Mom took a rest because she got blisters on her heels.

「ここに連れてきてくれて本当にうれしいわ。
私は植物が大好きなの。
インドでPHDとったのも植物と農業のコラボに関するもので。」
"I'm very happy to be here. I love botany.
The PHD I got in India is about botany and agriculture collaboration."

樹木のどこをとっても農業的利用価値のある木についての研究
だそうですが唐辛子婆はその名前を忘れてしもて。
She mentioned that every single part of a certain species of tree
(which she studied) is useful for our life.
Unfortunately I forgot the name of the tree.

Sliding on a long slide again and again.

時間が無くなってきたので日本庭園は盆栽園だけ。
As we have almost run out of our time,
we visited only the Bonsai Area in the Japanese Garden.

奥に盆栽の手入れの仕方を習っている人がいました。
Someone was learning how to take care of bonsai.

先生はいつもここでピンセットを使って手入れをなさってます。
This teacher is always trimming bonsai with tweezers.

百歳以上の盆栽に目を見張る。
Wao!
Is it true this bonsai 's age more than 100 years old?

木の幹が枯れているのにこんなにイキイキしてるなんて！
It's amazing although the trunks look dead, branches are so fresh!

Is this tiny one also bonsai?

ブーゲンビリアの盆栽の前で。
とびきりの美少女ゴーリ。
There is a beautiful girl in front of the bougainvillea.

After visiting the Bonsai area, Gauri enjoyed this place

3か月後くらいにはバンクーバーに移ることになっているゴーリたち。
パパはブリティッシュ・コロンビア大学で研究を続けるそうです。

Within 3 months from now they are supposed to move to Van Couver in Canada.
Dad will continue his research study in the British Columbia University.

また会えたらいいね♪
