吾輩は虎である。名前はなかったが、このたび「mocoちゃん」となった。

生まれは18世紀の朝鮮半島。王室専用の白磁の官営工房・広州官窯において、優れた「画青匠」（画工）の手によって誕生した。遠くに見える山並みの上に満月がかかる夜、断崖の上を闊歩する堂々たる姿には我ながらほれぼれとして、思わず笑みがこぼれる。ツートンカラーの毛並みにスマートな胴と尻尾が自慢だ。虎は朝鮮半島で霊獣として信仰され、崇められてきた。幸せをつげる鵲（カササギ）と一緒に描かれることも多い。壷の裏側では猫のように丸まっている。

猫に似ているとよく言われる。吾輩はもしかしたら虎ではなく、猫なのか？

I am a tiger. I didn't have a name, but now I've got one. It's "moco-chan."

I was born in the eighteenth century on the Korean Peninsula. I was created by the hands of a skilled painter at one of the official court kilns in Gwangju, which made white porcelain exclusively for the royal family. I cannot help but smile whenever I take a look at this porcelain jar?I look so fabulous, even if I say so myself, walking with my head held high along the cliff at night with a full moon over the distant mountains. I am particularly proud of my two-tone fur, slim body, and elegant tail. The tiger is believed to be a sacred animal and worshipped on the Korean Peninsula. We are often depicted together with magpies, which are believed to herald the approach of happiness. On the opposite side of the jar, you will find me curled up like a cat.

People often say that I look like a cat. Perhaps I'm a cat instead of a tiger?
