「綺麗」「美味しい」「面白い」！

12日間にわたり各地の春の風景を堪能した、日本・再発見の旅でした。

雨の夜、その旅はフェリーで始まりました。（小樽〜舞鶴航路）

The journey started with a 22 hour long ferry ride.

姉妹船が行き交う貴重な瞬間。あっという間の出来事でした。
体感速度、60ノット？近そうに見えるけど、1kmの間隔があるそうな。

The twin ferries crossed with an 1000m interval from each other.

鰊の燻製。春の味覚。この後、船長さんと茶話会も。

日本三景の一つ：天橋立。（京都府）

ベタだけどやらないとね、「股のぞき」。初代・股のぞきスト？は小野小町と聞きました。

昔の人はこんなところにお城を築いて凄いとしかいいようがないです。

How could people in old times build a castle on a mountain like this?

何気ない石垣のカーブも、意味があるのです。

A slight curve of the stonewall is an embodiment of the then architectual
engineering based on defense.

桜見物が旅のテーマの一つでしたが、それ以外にも数々の可愛らしいお花が咲いていました。これはユキヤナギ。


Cherry blossom viewing was one the the main themes of this trip but we
were lucky enough to encounter other flowers as well.

お見事としか言いようのない枝垂桜。「醍醐の花見」で太閤様もたいそうお楽しみだったことでしょう。（京都　醍醐寺）

醍醐の花見の後は、清水の門前にあるお料理屋さんで昼食。湯豆腐、ゴマ豆腐、天ぷら、湯葉、味噌....好物ばかりでうれしい！

この日、音羽山清水寺では、観音様の化身と言われる青龍の行道がありました。

A blue dragon (said to be in disguise of Kannon, the Diety of Mercy) appeared in the temple during our visit.

清水寺は高校時代の修学旅行以来何度か訪れていますが、こんな行事に遭遇したのは初めてでラッキー！

ジャジャーン！お化粧直しを終えたばかりの姫路城。さすがに「白鷺城」と呼ばれるだけあり、桜とも相俟ってなんとウツクシイことでしょう！天守閣見学は1h＋待ちで、再訪問を密かに決意する私であった....。

違うアングルの姫路城。　桜が素晴らしいのはもちろんですが、松やその他の樹木にもぐっときます。

もはや犯罪レベル？の艶やかさ！

姫路城の天守閣基礎部分。青空が見えてきた！

お城の見学を終えた方たちが次々と出てきます。

Visitors are coming out of the keep. Wish I was one of them.... (Had to
wait more than an hour so I had no luck/chance to enter this time.)

黒田孝高（のちの黒田官兵衛/如水）はここで生まれました。当時はもっと質素な
お城だったようです。

Kambei KURODA (an immediate loyal who served
Lord Toyotomi in the late 16th century) was born here.

車中のお弁当で、旅気分がアップ！

Having a pretty bento like this makes me feel more excited
about the trip!

岡山から熊本まで九州新幹線にて移動。「ビジネス」よりも「旅行」寄りの、ややゆとりのある内部でした。

路面電車で熊本市内へでかけ夕食を。熊本城がほんのりライトアップされています。

雨の水前寺公園。東海道五十三次の縮景を配した池泉回遊式庭園だそうで、真ん中のお山は「富士山」のイメージなのですね。

I love koi! (The colorful breed of carp) They are indeed "moving art."

ハクサンボクでしょうか。雨の中でもきちんと咲いていてなんとかわいらしい。

生まれて初めての馬刺しでしたが、なめらかでひんやりして美味！

熊本〜長崎航路のフェリーにて。デッキ上で差し出されるえびせんの争奪戦です。

This surely reminds us of "The Birds", a famous Hitchcock's film.

This explains why this bridge is called "Spectacles bridge", right?

この日のお宿は、市内で最も高い標高に位置する温泉ホテル。バスの運転手さんの技術がものを言いました。

The bus rides to and from the hotel were quite an experience, as this is a hotel located at the highest altitude among all in Nagasaki city and
you know, Nagasaki is famoust for steep hills everywhere you go.....

長崎名物　卓袱（しっぽく）料理。
華やかでとても楽しいお食事。器も異国風のデザインやモチーフが多く興味深かった。

Shippoku ryori-Nagasaki local cuisine to welcome and entertain guests.
Chinese and foreign cultures' influences observed.

卓袱料理は汁物に始まり汁物（お汁粉）の止め椀で終わるそうな。

The waitress told us that Shippoku cuisine starts with a bowl of soup and ends with a bowl of sweet bean soup.

雨に煙る長崎の夜。お歌の通り「長崎は今日も雨だった。」

すでに廃墟と化している軍艦島（長崎・端島）。石炭の採掘事業で、一時は東京よりも人口密度が高かった時代があり、人々の暮らしがありました。

Gunkanjima, a former mining town and an island. People used to live here
but not any more.

この角度から見た姿が、第二次大戦中の軍艦「土佐」にそっくりだそうです。

The tour guide told us that the whole island from this angle apperes
to be exactly like "Tosa", a battle ship during the WWII.

平和公園。噴水は平和の象徴「はと」がモチーフ。今でこそひっそりと美しい公園ですが、70年前には想像するのも恐ろしい光景がここで実際に起きたのですね。

Nagasaki Peace Park. The fountain water looks like a dove, a peace
symbol. Now it is a pretty quiet place but 70 years ago, people had to
encounter something we can never really imagine...

長崎皿うどんをはじめ中華料理で〆た後、長崎を後にしました。

いつもお世話になっています。

聞きしに勝る吉野の桜。雨が却って春の風情をより醸し出していたかも。

A small mountain full of cherry blossoms (Yoshino, Nara Pref.) One of the most impressive places I visited during this trip.

吉野には金峯山寺というお寺があり、その参詣道にはおいしいお店がずらりと並んでいるのです(笑)

Along the way to Kimpusenji Temple, there are lots of souvenir/snack
stands and stores.

日頃お目にかかれない秘仏ご本尊にお目にかかることができました。でも、その直後に忌まわしい液体かけ事件が！許せん！！

How lucky I was to be in this area when these statues made public
appearances after several years of absence!

金峯山寺蔵王堂(国宝) 寺・神社・教会

同じ枝に色がかすかに違う花がついているのです。神秘的！

長浜城(滋賀県)-秀吉公が初めて築城したお城です。小谷城からの資材がリユースされているなんて、なかなかのエコ。

永平寺そば、ごま豆腐、おろし長芋...「精進」度合がアップしています。

永平寺は座禅をはじめとする修行のお寺、全国からいらしてるのでしょうね。

ややばかり細め....？(因みにお隣は薬局でした。）山代温泉（石川県）

This one is a bit thinner than an ordinary one, isn't it?

バスガイドさんおすすめの温玉ソフトを食してみる。うーむ、ほぼ想像通りでまずくはないが、激ウマ！というわけでもなく.....でも、やはり旨い！？

A soft-served ice cream with toppings of a soft-boiled egg (Onsen tamago)
and soy sauce flavored syrup. It wasn't bad but didn't think it was
delicious either but again, definitely a flavor to remember for sure..... Maybe I should try eating it once again next time I see it somewhere else.

開湯から1300年以上の歴史がある山代温泉。ヤタガラスがシンボルです。この下に源泉が湧いています。

Yamashiro onsen spa has over 1300 years of history since its foundation.
This crow is the symbol/mascot of this spa area

すぱクロ君、お店毎にデザインが違うのです。（こちらは理容室）

Spacro、the crow mascot of Yamashiro spa resort comes in a different
appearance for each shop/business.

”Born this way”な女将さんたちでしょうか？

"Kaga" is the old name for Ishikawa prefecture in which this spa is
located. They are the hostesses of hotels and inns.

見た目にも美しく、美味しい郷土料理の数々....。
体重計に乗るのは家に帰ってから！

If this type of dinner is served every evening for the whole trip, what
will happen in the end.....WEIGHT GAIN!!!

今もこんなに美しく咲いているのは、いろんな人が丹精込めてお世話をしてきたからでしょうね。

金沢城公園を車窓より眺める。お城にはやはり松がなくちゃ。

数え年で7年に一度の御開帳期間だったので、歓迎ムード一色！

Lucky enough to be here in the time of "Gokaicho", when the replica of
the hidden image of the Zenkoji temple is on exhibition for the first
time in the last 6 or 7 years.

筋骨隆々!

All the evils will go away by the force of this guardian!

この期間、秘仏のご本尊と同じ造りの「前立本尊」が本堂に置かれています。その手に結わえられた紐がこの回向柱とつながっており、柱に触れた人はご本尊様に触れたのと同じご利益があるため皆さん並びます。混んでいる時は2-3時間待ちだとか！

This pillar is tied with the standing Amitabah image (replica) of this temple placed in the main building. We cannot touch the image so instead we touch this pillar to be blessed.

善光寺(長野県長野市) 寺・神社・教会

思いがけず貫主様から「お数珠頂戴」していただきました。しかも、二回も！！

The bald gentleman is a high priest (Abbot?) and he's mercifully sharing
merits with the believers/visitors, placing his beaded rosary on the head of every visitor along the way.

現存する天守閣が日本最古の松本城。姫路城（兵庫）、彦根城（滋賀）、犬山城（愛知）と並ぶ国宝です。近代の歩みと共に、名城の多くが解体されたので、残っているのは奇跡！

特大サイズで、やっつけることができませなんだ....

あまりに有名なアサヒビールのオブジェ。実はフランス人のデザイナーが燃える心をイメージして作った「金の炎」だとか。左はジョッキのビール、そして真ん中はスカイツリーです。観光プログラムが無事終了しました。

the sightseeing.
