The shrine enshrines quietly in a quiet residential area, where the noise and vibrations of airplanes are barely perceptible, despite the fact that Haneda Airport is 1km east. The shrine was originally located in what is now Haneda Airport, and was revered as a shrine to protect the fields from flooding caused by holes in the embankment. It is also said to have been worshipped by prostitutes since the Edo period because of its name, "protecting the hole".
It was not until after the Pacific War that the shrine was moved to its current location, so the buildings on the grounds are relatively new. Entering the precincts from the south side of the shrine through the torii gate, you will get an orderly impression, but towards the back, you will see a miscellaneous array of small torii gates and fox statues that can be seen in other Inari shrines. You will get a completely different impression from the entrance and the back of the shrine. The shrine precincts are dotted with many small shrines that are dedicated to various benefits such as "victory," "success," "prosperity," and so on. Perhaps because Haneda Airport is nearby, there is also a small shrine called "Aviation Shrine" where people come to pray for the safety of air travel.
Even though it's close to Haneda Airport, there are not that many visitors even on holidays, so it may be perfect for a leisurely stroll around the precincts.
