Visible from the park road, Skyline Arch may be reached by a short walk along a good trail. Like most of the 90 or more arches in the park, it is the product of erosion in a narrow fin of Entrada sandstone.

LANDSCAPE ARCH

Now in the final moments of its "life", Landscape is an outstanding example of delicate sculpturing by erosion. Wind, rain, and other forces have carved it from a solid wall of sandstone, creating a ribbon of stone nearly the length of a football field. The same forces will someday bring it crashing down.

THE SPECTACLES
Arches National Park, Utah
Composed of the South Window (125 feet by 65 feet) and the North Window (98 feet by 60 feet), this unusual view rewards the visitor who hikes to the far side of the Window's Section of the park.

DELICATE ARCH

Like most of the 90 or more arches protected in the park, Delicate began as a hole in a narrow sandstone fin. Erosion gradually enlarged the arch, and gradually removed the fin left and right of the growing arch, thus producing this very rare feature, a free standing arch 65 ft. wide and 85 ft. high.
