天橋立を鳥瞰的に眺望できるスポットの1つで、アクセス方法はリフトかモノレールのいずれかになります。
展望台は、単に天橋立を眺望できる展望デッキがあるだけでなく、観覧車・メリーゴーランド・アーチェリー体験コーナー・展望レストラン等があり、複合エンターテインメント施設となっています（各施設によって利用料が異なります）。これらの施設を利用するには、事前にチケット売り場でチケットを購入する必要があります。これらの施設の多くは子供向けとなっており、ほとんどの大人は天橋立の遠望だけを目的に訪れるのがほとんどで、遊具を利用する姿はあまり見かけません（子供の付き添い程度です）。
『股のぞき』という、展望と写真撮影のスポットにはスタッフが常駐しており、写真撮影のサービスを提供しています。施設を利用しなければ、1時間程度で周遊できるくらいの広さです。
真っ青な空が見える晴れた日、もしくは一面が真っ白になった雪の日に訪れると、極上の景色を臨むことが出来るでしょう（雨の日でも、対岸にかかった霧や雲が幽玄な雰囲気を醸し出すことがありますが、これらの好条件には敵わないと思います）。各施設を利用しなくても、天橋立の景観を充分に楽しめますので、一度は訪れておきたいスポットだと思います。

It's one of the spots where visitors can enjoy a bird's-eye view of Amanohashidate, and can be accessed either by lift or monorail.
This spot has not only an observation deck with a view of Amanohashidate, but also an entertainment complex with a Ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, an archery experience corner, and an observation restaurant, etc. (The fee differs for each facility). To use these facilities, visitors must purchase tickets in advance at the ticket booth. Most of these facilities are geared toward children, and most adults visit only for the distant view of Amanohashidate, and are not often seen using the playground equipment (they are only accompanying their children).
The "Mata-Nozoki(crotch peepers)", a spot for viewing and photographing, are staffed and offer photography services. If you do not use the facilities, the area is large enough to tour around in about one hour.
Visit on a sunny day with a bright blue sky, or on a snowy day when the entire area is blanketed in white, and you'll be rewarded with a superb view (even on rainy days, the fog and clouds on the other side of the river can create an ethereal atmosphere, but it's hard to match these favorable conditions). Even if you do not use any of the facilities, you can fully enjoy the scenery of Amanohashidate, so this is a spot that you should visit at least once.
