武蔵御嶽神社の境内にある宝物殿。平安時代末期から江戸時代中期にかけての、甲冑や刀剣が展示されており、それらは国宝や重要文化... 続きを読む財に指定されている程の極めて貴重な品々である。特に畠山重忠が奉納したと伝わる『赤糸威鎧兜・大袖付』は、多くの箇所で明治期の補修されているものの、約900年の時を経てもなお現存しているのは、非常に目を見張ることだろう。
宝物殿は2階建て構造で、入口には段差、2階との昇降は階段であり、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方の利用は不向きである。また建物自体が狭く、周遊するだけであれば30分程度で済む。展示物保護のためか、一部の展示箇所の照明は暗めに設定されており、展示の説明文が読みづらいと感じるだろう。加えて説明文はほぼ全て日本語のみで、入場の際、スタッフから展示物説明補助のためのタブレット端末が手渡されるが、それも日本語のみであるため、外国人観光客にとってはとっつきにくい場所と感じるかもしれない。
館内は全て撮影禁止となっている。いくつかの要素から、入場料500円ではやや割高と感じるかもしれない。
The Treasure Hall is located within the grounds of Musashi Ontake Shrine. Armor and swords from the late Heian period to the mid-Edo period are on display, and are so valuable that they have been designated as national treasures or important cultural properties. The “Akaito-odoshi no Yoroi (Armor with red-thread)” dedicated by Shigetada Hatakeyama is particularly remarkable, as it has survived for almost 900 years, although many parts have been repaired during the Meiji period.
The Treasure Hall is a two-floor structure with steps at the entrance and stairs to the second floor, making it unsuitable for wheelchair users and other visitors with disabilities. The building itself is small, and it takes only about 30 minutes to walk around. Perhaps to protect the exhibits, the lighting in some areas is dimmed, making it difficult to read the explanations of the exhibits. In addition, most of the explanations are in Japanese only, and the staff will give you a tablet terminal to assist in explaining the exhibits when you enter the museum, but it is also in Japanese only, so foreign visitors may find it difficult to understand the exhibits.
Photography is prohibited inside the museum. Several factors may make the admission fee of 500yen seem somewhat excessive. 閉じる投稿日:2024/08/27

ＪＲ御嶽駅からバスとケーブルカーを乗り継いで。ケーブルの終点御岳山駅からは歩いて20分ほどです。ここは、山岳信仰の神社なの... 続きを読むですが、犬に関わりがある神社。ヤマトタケルが関東討伐のため武蔵国から上野国に向かう途中に付き従ったとされるオオカミを祀っていることからだそうです。写真の右に白く写っているのは畠山重忠の像。国宝赤糸威鎧を奉納した人物で、平安時代末期から鎌倉時代初期の武将。鎌倉幕府の有力御家人です。宝物館で公開していまして。江戸時代には徳川吉宗が上覧したとも伝えられます。赤い糸はまだらまだらに残っているだけでしたが、兜のイボイボが頑丈そうでした。国宝としては螺鈿の鞍、鐙のセットもありました。
