２６日の核心（？！）部分書くのを忘れたので付け足します。浦東からの帰り道、外灘の夜景を見て地下鉄を使って帰る時事件は起こった！そう、また交通カードが使えなかったのだ！今度は地下鉄の窓口で買ったのに！母は「また騙された」と騒いでいた。切符売り場でカードを調べてもらうがお金は入ってないとの事。何かが私の中でプチッと切れた。二度も騙されて黙って帰るわけにはいかない！窓口で「ここで３０元出して買ったものが使えないとはどういうことだ！ここに証拠だってある」と筆談で使ったノートも見せた。窓口の人がマネージャーを呼んだらしく、マネージャーらしき女性（５０代くらい）と通訳として女性職員（２０代くらい）がやってきた。また説明するが「交通カードの窓口はここではなく、もう営業時間は終わっているので明日来い」とのこと。摩邪じゃないけど、「は〜？」である。「それはあんたたちの問題であって私には関係ないので今すぐ使えるようにしろ！」と訴えた。

その後、男性の職員が二人来て、カードの内容をチェックしてくれた。その画面を見せられたがやはり「０円」だった。他の交通機関でも使えるので「タクシーとかで使ってないか」聞かれたが、使っていない。向こうは「規則は規則だからその窓口が開いてないと何もできない」の一点張りだったが、こちらも「それは私には関係ない。お金払ったのだからちゃんと使えるようにしろ」と譲らなかった。通訳の女性はこちらの身になって通訳してくれている感じだったが、マネージャーの女性は立場というものもあると思うが「絶対にこちらの主張は曲げられません。」というのと「外国人が面倒な事を言ってきてるので早く終わらせたいな」という感じもした。

延々３０分ほど口論をしていたら周りに野次馬が群がってその人たちまで口をだしていたようだ。私は絶対ここで負けるものかと思ったが、このカードなどもう使いたくないからお金を返してくれという気持になってきたので「カードを返すからお金を返してくれ」と言ったがマネージャーはやはり「営業時間が」と言い始めた。「何度も言うがそんなの私には関係ない！そっちの事情だ！とにかくこれを返すから今すぐお金を返せ！それ以外は受け入れられない！」と主張した。そして、一人の男性職員が根負けしたのか、ポケットからお金をだして、マネージャーに「まあ、いいじゃないか」という感じでお金を２枚分返してくれた。母曰く、この男性は最初から「お金返すくらいいいじゃないか」と言った感じでマネージャーの女性に言っていたように見えたらしい。あくまでも想像だが。通訳の女性には悪いと思ったので「嫌な思いさせて悪かったけど、私の立場も分かってね。」と言ったら「これは私の仕事だから気にしないで。」と答えて笑顔まで見せてくれた。なんていい人なんだ！その後もマネージャーは納得してなかったらしく、しばらく彼らは口論していたようだった。

その後、私が切符を買うため窓口にいたら、横から男性が割り込んできて、窓口の小さな穴からお金を入れて先に切符を買おうとした。これが、中国だ！割り込むのは当たり前のお国柄らしい。いままで何度も同じような光景を見てきて見逃してきたが、この時はまだ怒りがおさまらなかったので、「あんた私が今買ってるのが見えないの？」と英語で怒鳴ってその手をその穴に押し付けて睨みつけたら驚いて手をのけた。おとなしく見える日本人がそんなことをすると思わなかったようだ。もう、二度と交通カードなど買うものかと思った。

I forgot to write about “Nightmare” on Jun. 26 th. It was happened when we took the Metro after enjoying the night view of Bond. Again, we could not use the transportation card (Hereafter, I write t-card) even if we bought them at the metro booth!! I could not stand it anymore!! My mother said “They deceived us again!!” I made the staff at the booth to check my T-card but she said No money in it!! I told her “I bought it here today and I paid it already. See, this note? This is evidence.” She called the manager (around 50s) and the young staff as an interpreter. I told them the story but the manager said that “ Come here again tomorrow because the booth for the T-card has closed already.” I replied “ So what? None of my business it is your business!! Just put money into my T-card. That’s all!!”

Afterwards, two man’s staff came and one of them checked the record of my T-card and it said “No money in it”, I also checked it at the monitor. They asked me I used it at the taxi or some other transportation (you can use it at all transportation inside of the Shanghai) but I answered I did not use it. The manager persisted in saying; “This is a rule I can not pay you back now, so just come back here tomorrow again” But I persisted in saying “Just put money back to my T-card. I do not care booth is closed it is not my business, it is your business!!” It seemed that the young interpreter woman was thinking about my situation but the manager was thinking about only her situation. I understand her position to insist to not paying back Although, it seemed that she wanted to end up early this matter because the troublesome foreigner complained too much.

We were quarreling this matter about 30 minutes and the curious onlookers were surrounding us and intruded into this matter. I did not lose this matter but I felt like not using this STUPID T-CARD anymore and said “ I give these cards back and pay us back our money RMB60 right now! “. But, the manager insisted to say “Come back again tomorrow.” Of course, I insisted the same thing, “JUST PAY US BACK RIGHT NOW!! I CAN NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS!!” Finally, the man said, “O.K. We would pay you back right now” and paid us back from his pocket money. My mother said from the beginning, he seemed to have been persuading the manager to return money for us. It was just the imagination of her, though. I felt sorry for the young interpreter who understood my situation and said “Sorry for make you getting this trouble but please understand my situation.” She replied “This is my job so do not worry about this” and smiled. She is such a nice person!! The manager did not satisfy herself and they were arguing after all.

The man tried to interrupt from the side when I was buying the ticket. Yes, this is China. It is the natural world to do interrupt anything without permission in China. It seems their customs. I overlooked until then, but this time, I was irritated so much, I pressed his arm against small hole at the booth window said “ CAN’T YOU SEE I AM BUYING THE TICKET RIGHT NOW?” and glared at him. He was so surprised and gave up his interrupting. Maybe they think most Japanese are obedient but not me. Ha! Ha! Ha! I JUST DO NOT WANT TO USE T-CARD ANYMORE!!

上海達人の皆様はたぶん、もう気付いていることでしょう。後日、持ってきていた資料を見て愕然としました。そう、交通カードのデポジットは３０元。そして私は３０元しか払っていないのでお金が入ってないのは当然だったのです！！デポジットは分かっていましたが、まさか３０元とは！初乗りが３元のお国柄。デポジット１０倍はとり過ぎじゃないですか？交通カードはすぐ使うんだからデポジットと使うお金入れるのが当たり前なんじゃないですか？と日本人が考える事、押し付けてもしかたありませんね。あの時、関係した職員の人々にお詫びしたいです。特に通訳してくれた女性には本当に悪いことをしたと思いました。「騙された」という強い思い込みが招いた事件。思い込みはいけない、又、ちゃんと調べないといけないとういことを学んだ事件だったのでした。これから行く皆さんは私のように現地の人に迷惑かけないようにあえて自分の馬鹿さ加減をここで発表しました。交通カードはデポジットが３０元（４５０円）です。それにプラスお金を入れてもらいましょう。

I checked the material which I brought it said that
T-card has deposit and it was RMB30. Yes, I just paid RMB30!
It was natural; no money in it!! But, the base fare of the Metro
is RMB3. It is 10 times more!! I know about deposit but it is RMB30!
Naturally, anybody use T-card soon after buying it, why they did not tell
me deposit was RMB30 and I should put some more money?? In Japan, it is unusual!!
But, this is China, “DO IN ROME AS THE ROMANS DO” I want to say apologize to them, especially the young interpreter woman. I was convinced that we were deceived. This was made me to do foolish behavior at that time. People who will go to Shanghai! DO NOT ACT FOOLISH BEFAVIOR LIKE ME.! PUT MONEY EXCEPT DEPOSIT!
