崎津の漁村景観
　羊角湾の北側に位置する崎津は、歴史的に流通・往来の拠点として、現在は主に漁港として機能しています。平地の少ない密集集落内には、家と家の重なり合った軒下を通る「トウヤ」と呼ばれる小路が海に向かって伸び、その先には今富のシュロや竹を材料に海に張り出して設置される漁師の作業施設である「カケ」など、独特の漁村景観が広がっています。
　平成23年2月7日、国の重要文化的景観「天草市崎津の漁村景観」として全国で24件目、県内で2件目、漁村景観としては初めて選定されました。

Fishing Village Landscape of Sakitsu.
Located in the northern shores of Yokaku-wan (Yokaku Bay), Sakitsu was historically a trading village but is mainly a fishing port today. Level ground in the village is limited, and narrow alleys known as toya lead toward the sea from between tightly clustered houses. - On the seashore, protruding working areas known as kake create a unique fishing village landscape.
These kake provide working space for the local fishermen and are made from Chusan palm tree trunks and bamboo.
On February 7, 2011, Sakitsu was selected as the first ever Fishing Village Landscape to be registered as a Nationally Selected Important Cultural Landscape. It is the 24th Nationally Selected Important Cultural Landscape in Japan, and the second in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Located in the Nagasaki and Kumamoto prefectures in the northwestern part of Kyushu Island of the Japanese Archipelago, the ‘Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region’ is a serial property comprising 12 components, made up of ten villages, one castle remains, and one cathedral dating from between the 17th and 19th centuries. They reflect the era of prohibition of the Christian faith, as well as the revitalization of Christian communities after the official lifting of the prohibition in 1873. Hidden Christians survived as communities that formed small villages sited along the seacoast or on remote islands to which Hidden Christians migrated during the ban on Christianity. Hidden Christians gave rise to a distinctive religious tradition that was seemingly vernacular yet which maintained the essence of Christianity, and they survived continuing their faith over the ensuing two centuries.

かなり良さげなお寿司屋さんですが、お昼の時間からはかなり経過しておりパス。

この日は鹿児島で朝からホテルの豪華ビュッフェ、うなぎと過食気味。宿泊予定の旅館で豪華伊勢海老も待っているはずだし･･･

崎津教会
Sakitsu Church

崎津教会は、1934年にハルブ神父と住民の寄附によって建てられた教会堂です。初代崎津教会堂の老朽化により現在の場所に新築されました。
コンクリート造りの計画で建築されましたが、資金不足により途中で木造に切り替えられたため、灰色のコンクリート部分と白色の木造部分が混在する特殊な教会堂となりました。
教会の設計は、多くの教会建築に携わった上五島出身の鉄川与助によるもので、外観にはゴシック様式の特徴がみられ、堂内には、建設当初から日本の生活様式を取り入れて畳が敷かれており、信徒たちは床に座ってミサに参加していました。

Sakitsu Church was built in the present place in 1934 with the contribution of Father Halbout and residents to replace the original church in Sakitsu. It was designed to be reinforced with concrete, however, due to the lack of funds, this was only partially reinforced and the rest was constructed using wood. Thus, we can see the unique feature and constructing colors of concrete and painted wood. It was designed by Yosuke Tetsukawa from Kami -Goto (Nagasaki Prefecture) who was experienced in church designing. The exterior has a Gothic style feature, and the Japanese style was introduced to the interior. The floor is covered with tatami mats from the beginning on which believers used to sit during the Mass.

  下田♨。。。天草にもあるんだね～

  ☆関東人には。。。伊豆、下田が頭に浮かぶけれど。。。
  
  ☆天草と言えば「天草四郎」？熊本の一部なのに、何故か長崎の方が似合うなあと。。。
  
  ☆九州人である自分はもっと広く、深く熊本や長崎の歴史を知りたいと思いつつ、故郷から遠くへ来てしまい、昭和のノスタルジーとして見てしまう。～see you～
