『飛鳥Ⅱ』や『クイーン・エリザベス2』等、5万トンを超えるクルーズ客船を同時に2隻着岸可能な程の規模と機能を持つ、言わずと知れた横浜の玄関口。しかし単なるターミナル機能に留まらず、飲食店や土産物店、イベントホール等多数の施設が存在し、『くじらのせなか』の愛称で知られる屋上は横浜の夜景を楽しむスポットとして親しまれている。
施設内は非常に広々としており、柱が無いためどこに何の施設があるのかが分かりやすい。しかも屋外を除いて上下フロアの昇降がスロープもしくはエレベータであるため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ人、大きな荷物を持つ人もストレスなく施設を利用することが出来る。出入国ロビーの床はほぼ木版張りで、少し弾力性を持たせている、という面白い構造になっている。但し各木版には僅かに隙間が空いているため、コインなどの小さいものを落とすと二度と戻せなくなる可能性があることに注意したい。
東京湾クルーズや旅の発着だけでなく、施設そのものを楽しむことも出来るエンターテインメントスポットの一つと言える。

It's the well-known gateway to Yokohama, with the capacity to berth two cruise ships of over 50,000 tons at the same time, such as the Asuka II and the Queen Elizabeth II. However, it's more than just a terminal, the rooftop, nicknamed "Kujira no Senaka" (Whale's Roost), is a popular spot to enjoy the night view of Yokohama.
The facility is very spacious, and the lack of pillars makes it easy to see where all the facilities are located. Moreover, with the exception of the outdoor areas, the upper and lower floors are accessed by ramps or elevators, making it easy for people with disabilities such as wheelchairs and people with large luggage to use the facilities without stress. The floor of the entry-exit lobby is almost entirely covered with wooden panels, which have an interesting structure that makes them slightly elastic. However, there are small gaps between the wooden panels, so if you drop a small object such as a coin, you may not be able to put it back again.
It's one of those entertainment spots where you can enjoy not only the cruises and journeys to and from Tokyo Bay, but also the facilities themselves.
