様々な動物を観察できるだけでなく、園内の季節の移り変わりも含めて楽しむことが出来る、動物園と言えば、真っ先に思い浮かべる動物園でしょう。特に降り頻る雪の中でも活発に動き回る動物を観察できるのは貴重な体験と言えます。
大型だったり、他ではあまり見られないような動物が多いため、触れ合える機会が持てるエリアはそう多くありませんが、広めに誂えた区域の中で悠然と過ごしたり、まず見ることのない脚の裏が見えるしかけだったり、見どころ満載です。飼育係の手作りの掲示物や近隣の大学との共同研究の発表の場もあり、単に動物を展示するだけでなく動物を飼育することの苦労や死生観に触れる機会も多いことが魅力的だと思います。
旭川に観光に来た際は、まず行っておきたいスポットの一つだと思います。

If you go to Asahikawa as a tourist, this is one of the places you must visit at least once!
