The Hotel WBF, chosen by her hasband Naddy was a clean nice
bussines hotel located near the Sensouji Temple.
Niiのご主人の選んでくれたホテルWBFは浅草寺にほど近い
清潔なビジネスホテルでした。
As the front lady was from China mainland,
they talked in Chinese without any problem.
I think there must be a lot of differences between Chinese and
Taiwanese languages.
Why can they understand each other so easily?
フロントは中国から来た人だったので
二人は中国語で何の不自由もなくやりとりしてました。
本土語と台湾語はかなり違うはずなのに
どうしてそんなにやすやすと通じるんでせう？
Let's go to the Sumida River Park to see the cherry blossoms!
It takes 5 minutes from the hotel to the park on foot.
さあ墨田川公園まで桜を見に行きませう！
ホテルから公園までは歩いて15分ぐらいです。
"Woow, how lovely! I have never seen like this in Karachi!"
「うわ～、なんて可愛いの！カラチではこんなの見たことないわ！」

Gardening is one of her hobbies.
She belongs to a gardening group in Karachi and
one day she took me to one of their group parties.

彼女の趣味の一つが園芸です。

because we had very cold days after they bloomed.

今年は咲いてからの花冷えが長かったのでいつもの年より
きれいでいてくれて。

As the security situation became deteriorated since we left Pakistan,
we thought that we could never visit Karachi again.
" It has become much better after Imran Karn took the
presidencial office. He used to be a famous cliket player, you know?
As for the power supply in Karachi, we have less frequent incidences of blackout after the privatization of an electricity company."
私たちが去った後、治安がとても悪くなったので
もう二度とカラチには戻れないと思っていました。
「最近はかなり良くなったのよ。
もとクリケットの選手だったイムラン・カーンが大統領になってから。
停電も民営化されてからはずいぶん少なくなったし。」

Then, we would be able to visit Karachi again!
It was much fun for me to see those colourfully decorated trucks!

We had a great conversation about good old days.
" You were so brave that you saw a gaot being slaughtered
during the Sacrifice Festival.
I have never been able to see it although I live in Pakistan
for so many years."
昔話は続きます。
「犠牲祭の山羊の屠りを見るなんて勇気があったわよねえ。
パキスタンに長く居ながら私はまだ見たことがないのよ。」

Cherry blossoms have a special meaning for Japanese.
Every year, we have a picnic party only under cherry blossoms.
日本人にとって桜は特別なの。
桜の木の下でだけこうしてみんなが毎年宴会するのよ。

And then we returned to the Sensouji Temple.
それから浅草寺まで戻ってきました。
Nii saw Japanese sandal curiously.
草履をめずらしそうに見るNii。
"You pronounce 'KU' of Asakusa very lightly."
That's great!
Your keen observation is wonderful!
Nii speaks not only English but also Taiwanese, Urdu and
Tagalog languages fluently.
「あなたはASAKUSAのKUをとても軽く発音するのね。」
さすが！
英語、台湾語、ウルドゥ語、タガログ語を難なく操るNiiならではの観察力！

We pronounce some Japanese consonants not exactly
as written arphabet. We usualy pronounce vowels very lightly
or almost silent when they follow consonants such as K, S and H.
日本語の子音はローマ字で書いた通りに発音するのではなく
KとかSとかHとかの子音につく母音はとても軽いか
ほとんど聞こえないぐらいの時もありまする。

Foreigners wearing kimono has been increasing in number recently.
ちょっと見ぬ間に浅草は着物姿の人の増えたこと増えたこと！
It means rental kimono shops are increased.
着物の貸衣装店が増えたってことよね？
Wearing kimono must be a nice memoly for them.
However it was very cold on that day.
Did they have a Hokkairo(heat pad) in their kimono?
とってもいい思い出になるでせうね。
でもこの日はと～～っても寒かったの。
みんな懐にホッカイロでも入れてるのかしらん?
Not only girls but also boys are wearing kimono recently.
最近は男の子も和服に着替えてる。

No one notices this beautiful angel painted on the ceiling of the
Sensouji Temple.
誰も浅草寺の天井の美しい天使に気がつかないのよ。

After we had chicken bowl and nigiri-sushi at the
Halal restaurant,we went to the daifuku confectionery shop
which Nii kept her eyes on in advance.
ハラルのお寿司屋さんでNiiはチキン丼、唐辛子婆は握り寿司の
ランチのあとデザートは目をつけていたお店にいきました。

"This one I wanted to eat!
Recently they grow strawberry in northan part of Pakistan,
but taste and looks are quite different."
「これこれ、これが食べてみたかったのよ。
パキスタンでも北部の方でイチゴが作られるようになったけど
見た目も全然違うの。」
Strawberry was so juicy and sweet!
It was a wonderful Daifuku!
ジューシーでと～っても甘いイチゴの大福でした！
