中国と日本、そして沖縄ならではの建築様式や資材が絶妙に組み合わさった庭園です。歴史的な建築様式美を除くと、これと言った特徴があまりない回遊式庭園ですが、それは見どころを作るのではなく心を落ち着かせるための庭園であることがわかります。那覇市街地からやや離れたところにあるため、市街地の喧騒も聞こえません。御殿でゆっくり座り、庭を眺めながら心を落ち着かせるのもいいかもしれません。
