高崎市役所の隣にあるギャラリーホールで、絵画や彫刻・写真の展示だけでなく、講演会や演奏会も行われるという、幅広く芸術を楽しむことが出来るギャラリーです。講演会・演奏会等は有料ですが、展示は基本的に無料。建物の雰囲気からも敷居の高さがあまり感じられず、また高崎市だけでなく群馬県出身もしくはそこで活動しているアーティストさんの作品が多く、市民に広く且つ気軽に楽しんでもらうことが目的のギャラリーのように思います。古典芸術や著名作家のアートを楽しむのそうですが、地域に根付いたアートを楽しむのも、いい思い出になるかもしれません。
This is located next to Takasaki City Hall. The building consists of several small and medium scale galleries and hall, you can enjoy painting, sculpture and photographic arts in those galleries, and playing and dancing in the hall. Especially in galleries, you can appreciate the arts for free in most, many of those works on display are by artists in Takasaki city and Gunma prefecture, or working in there.
Although it is good to enjoy classical arts or arts of famous artists, it may be also good to enjoy contemporary art rooted in this area.
