The tomb of the Prophet Daniel, located in the city of Shush in southwestern Iran, has a rich historical background. According to the Old Testament, Prophet Daniel lived during the 6th century BCE and served as an advisor to several Babylonian and Persian kings. After his death, it is believed that his remains were buried in what is now known as the Prophet Daniel's tomb.

The construction of the tomb dates back to 1870 when a conical-shaped white tower was built to house the prophet's coffin.
