ウィーン☆ビフォア・サンライズ

1995年の映画「ビフォア・サンライズ」ロケ地と行き方。
英語で記載したのは映画のスクリプト。

ロケ地めぐりは今回の旅行の目的のひとつでもありました。
リサガス一族が写り込んでいてアップできない写真が多いのが残念。

写真はカールス教会。
ロケ地ではないけれども、映画のポスター、背景になっているのはきっとこれだと思うので。

エリア ウィーン(オーストリア)

応用美術館。
あの橋を探してカールスプラッツ近くのホテルから歩いて見る。
早朝、まだ誰もいない。

ウィーンの朝は夕方の色に近い。

応用美術館側の橋。
ウィーン川にぶつかるこの道を北に歩く。

あの橋、見つけた。

列車を降り、ウィーンを朝まで歩くことにしたふたりが最初に来る場所。

Jesse: Yeah, this is kind of weird isn't it? I mean, I feel a little awkward. Um...But it‘s alright, right? It‘s okay.

Celine: Yeah, this is great, this is great. Let's go to
some places. Look at your book.

Jesse: Yeah, we're in Vienna, let's go to some places.

夕暮れ、ふたりはプラーターにくる。
とてもにぎやかな、おもちゃ箱をひっくり返したような、お祭りでよく見る出店のような遊園地。

観覧車に乗る。

ウィーンの町を見下ろす。

Jesse: We got the Ferris wheel. It seems like, um, this would be a...

Celine: What?

Jesse: Uh, you know, uh.

Celine: Are you trying to say you want to kiss me?

クライネスカフェが有名なフランツィスカーナプラッツ。
手相を占うジプシーの女性に出会う場所。

クライネスカフェはどのガイドブックにも載っているだろうから行きかたは省略。

このあたりはこじんまりとした人気店が多く、リサガスが行った夜9時ごろにはどこのお店にも空席は見つからなかった。

Gypsy: You are both stars, don't forget. And the stars
exploded billions of years ago, to form everything that is this world.

マリア・アムゲシュターデ教会に向かう。

シュテファン寺院前のグラーベンからナーグラーガッセに入る。

ナーグラーガッセのエンゲル薬局。

ナーグラーガッセがアム・ホーフ教会前の道と合流する。
右に折れ、ドナウ運河方面に進むと見えてくる。
クエーカー教徒の挙式の話をした場所。

入っていくシーンは間違いなくこの教会。
ただ、この教会には天井画がないので、中の撮影は別の教会を利用したんだと思う。

Jesse: Well, I went to this Quaker wedding once, and it was fantastic. What they do is the couple comes in and they kneel down in front of the whole congregation, and they just stare at each other, and nobody says a word
unless they feel that God moves them to speak, or say something. And then, after an hour or so of just uh,
staring at each other, they're married.

ふたりは夜、この坂を下りて行く。
自立した、でも守ってほしい女、男女の違いについて会話するシーン。

ベートーベンの住んでいたPasquatialahaus裏。
エリーゼのためになどをここで作曲した。

Celine: You know what? I don't think women really want to destroy men, and if, even if they want to, they don't...they don't succeed. You know what I mean?

同じような石畳の風景で、まるで同じところを歩き続けているように見えるけれども、二人が出産のダンスを見るのは上記のPasquatialahausからは結構遠いMuseumQuarter裏のシュピッテルベルグ地区。

シュッピテルベルグ地区は散策する場所としてもすごくよかったんだけれど、どの写真にもリサガス一族が写っていてアップできないのが残念。

Celine: Yeah. The woman in labor enters a tent, and the women of her tribe surround her, and dance, and they
encourage the birthing woman to dance with them as...
so as to make the birth less painful.

カフェ・シュペールに入る。
二人がそれぞれの友人に電話をかけるフリをするシーン。

この時期皆オープンエアの場所にいた。
木陰がくっきりと光を切り取っている。

外はにぎやかだけれど、中は静まっていた。
夏の夕方は暑く、エアコンのないカフェの空気は温まっていた。

Celine: Well...he convinced me. Well, actually I was...
I was ready to get off the train with him after talking to him a short while. He was so sweet, I couldn't help it.
We were in the lounge car, and he began to talk about
him, as a little boy, seeing his great-grandmother's
ghost.
I think that's when I fell for him. Just the idea of this
little boy with all those beautiful dreams.
He TRAPPED me.

ふたりは夜のアルベルティーナ、バルコニーにいる。
オペラ座が目の前に見える。

Celine: Yeah, I know. Maybe that's why this feels so
otherworldly.
But then the morning comes, and we turn into
pumpkins, right?

Yeah, I know. But at this time, I think you're supposed
to produce the glass slipper, and see if it fits.

シェーンブルン宮殿の庭でワインを飲みながら朝を迎えた二人が再びアルベルティーナに戻ってくるシーン。
騎馬像の足元で二人は会話する。

橋の上であった二人に誘われた芝居に行かなかったことを思い出す。

Celine: When you talked earlier about after a few years, how a couple begin to hate each other...
by anticipating their reactions...or getting tired of their mannerisms.
I think it would be the opposite for me.
I think I can really fall in love when I know everything
about someone. The way he's gonna part his hair...which shirt he's gonna wear that day...knowing the exact story he'd tell in a given situation. I'm sure that's when I know I'm really in love.

セリーヌは9年後の映画「Before Sunset」でこの時のことを口にする。

I remember the way your beard had a bit of red in it and the way the sun was making it glow in the morning right.
