ヴェネツィア (ヴェネチア) (ベネツィア) (ベネチア) (ヴェニス) (ベニス) :
フィレンツェから列車で、世界遺産に登録されているベネチアに行きました。ベネチアでは幸運にも天候に恵まれました。多分、ベネチアの美しさを表すのに理想的な天候であったと思います。ときどき乳白色の雲が漂う青空の下、カナル・グランデ (大運河) はターコイズ・グリーンで、さざなみがまぶしいくらいの日光でぎらぎらしていました。特にサン・マルコ広場とリアルト橋の付近は、とても混んでいました。でも、部分的に日陰で優しい太陽光線があざやかな光景を作り出す小さな運河や小道には静けさがありました。

Venezia (Venice) :
I went to Venezia, which is listed in the World Heritage List, from Firenze by train. I was lucky to have beautiful weather in Venezia. Probably, I think it was ideal weather for Venezia to present its beauty. Under the azure sky sometimes with milky clouds hovering in it, the Canal Grande (Grand Canal) was turquoise green with ripples glistening in the dazzling sunshine. It was very crowded, especially in Piazza San Marco and around Ponte Rialto. But there was tranquility around small channel and paths partly shady with gentle sunbeams creating vivid scenes.

エリア ベネチア(イタリア)

リアルト橋 :
ヴェネチアでカナル・グランデ (大運河) にかかる最も有名な橋。１６世紀後期にそこにかかっていた以前の木製の橋を置き換えるため石材の橋として建てられた。橋には、小さな店と３つの通路があり、２つの通路は橋の外側の手すりに沿ってあり、１つは真中で２つの店の列の間にある。

Ponte di Rialto :
It is the most famous bridge across the Canal Grande (Grand Canal) in Venezia. It was built in the late 16th century as a stone bridge to replace earlier wooden one there. On the bridge, there are small shops, and three walkways: two are along the outer balustrades of the bridge, and one is in the centre between two rows of the shops.

リアルト橋から見たカナル・グランデ (大運河) :
逆Ｓ字型のカナル・グランデは、元は潟を蛇行して流れていた川であったと考えられている。ベニスの島々が街に形成されていくときに、それに沿って家々が建てられ、深くなっていった。大抵、それらの家々はカナル・グランデを通って輸送される商品を貯蔵するための倉庫を持っていた。

Canal Grande (Grand Canal) seen from Ponte di Rialto :
It is thought that Canal Grande, which is backwards S-shaped, was originally a serpentine river that ran through the lagoon. Houses were built along it, and it was deepened as the islands of Venice were formed into the city. Usually, those houses had warehouses that stored goods to be transfer though Canal Grande.

スカルツィ橋は、ベネチアのサンタ・ルチア駅の近くにあり、カナル・グランデにかかっている。

Ponte degli Scalzi is across Canal Grande near the train station of Venezia Santa Lucia.

アッカデミア橋から見たカナル・グランデ (大運河) とサンタ・マリア・デラ・サルート寺院 :
サンタ・マリア・デラ・サルート寺院は１７世紀に建てられ、疫病からの開放に感謝して聖母マリアに捧げられた。
アッカデミア橋はカナル・グランデにかかり、サン・マルコ地区とドルソドゥーロ地区を結んでいる。

Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute was erected in the 17th century, dedicated to la Vergine Maria (the Virgin Mary) in gratitude for relief from plague.
Ponte Accademia connects between San Marco district and Dorsoduro district over Canal Grande.

運河とその脇の通り -- ベネチアの光景の一つ :
ベネチアでは、運河はリオ (rio)、通りはカッレ (calle) またはサリッツァダ (salizzada)、運河の脇の通りはフォンダメンタ (fondamenta)、小さな脇道はラモ (ramo) と呼ばれている。

ルネッサンス様式の時計台で、羽のある獅子像の下に星座の印のある時計がある。

サン・マルコ寺院 :
ドームがあるギリシャ様式の大聖堂。宣教師の聖マルコの永眠の場所として、１１世紀後期に落成した。

Basilica di San Marco :
It is a Greek style basilica with a dome. It was inaugurated in the late 11th century as the resting place of the evangelist San Marco (St. Mark).

サン・マルコ鐘楼 :
れんがの鐘楼で、約１００メートルの高さ。1912年に突然壊れるまで約一千年立っていた。昔の設計を基に再建された。

Campanile di San Marco :
It is a brick bell tower and about 100 metres tall. It had stood for about thousand years before it collapsed suddenly in 1912. It was rebuilt based on the old plan.

ドゥカーレ宮 :
ゴシック様式の宮殿で、１４世紀から１５世紀に建てられた。議会の会議や裁判がそこで行われた。

Palazzo Ducale :
It is the Gothic palace and was built from the 14th to 15th century. Council meetings and trials used to be held there.

嘆きの橋 :
ドゥカーレ宮殿とパラッツォ・デッレ・プリジョーニ (牢宮) を繋げている。ドゥカーレ宮殿で裁判が行われ有罪者がその橋を通って牢宮に連れられた。名前の「嘆き」はその橋を渡らされた有罪者の悲しい嘆きから来たと言われている。

Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs) :
It links Palazzo Ducale and Palazzo delle Prigioni (the state prison). Trials were held in the Palazzo Ducale and the convicted were brought to the state prison through the bridge. It is said that the ”sighs” in the name came from the sad laments of the convicted ones forced across it.

サンタ・マリア・グロリオーサ・デイ・フラーリ教会 :
ベネチア・ゴシック様式の教会で、元は１３世紀中期に建てられた。

Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari :
It is a Venetian Gothic church, and was originally built in the mid 13th century.

サン・マルコ広場から見たサン・ジョルジョ・マッジョーレ島 :
島の上にあるサン・ジョルジョ・マッジョーレ教会が見える。そこには１０世紀から修道院があった。現在の教会は１６世紀に建てられた。

Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore on the island is seen there. There had been a monastery there since the 10th century. The present church was erected in the 16th century.

  はじめまして。
  書込み有難うございます。
  天気が良かったので良い写真が撮れたと思います。
  ベニスは大運河や小さな運河や複雑に走る小道や橋や建物が全体的に調和が取れているようで、確かに良いところですね。
  ヨーロッパの他の多くの街でも、曲線的な通りが作る街並みが長く見ていても飽きさせない景色を演出していると思いますが、ベニスはそれに大運河や小さな運河の曲線が美しさをいっそう引き立たせていると思います。
