シャルトル :
パリのモンパルナス駅から列車に乗って、穀倉地帯のボース平野のほぼ中央に位置しているシャルトルにあり、世界遺産に登録されているシャルトルの大聖堂に行きました。
Chartres :
By taking a train from Paris Gare Montparnasse, I went to the Cathedral of Chartres (la Cathédrale de Chartres), which is listed in the World Heritage List (la Liste du patrimoine mondial), and is in Chartres, located about the centre of Beauce Plains, a grain belt.

シャルトルの大聖堂 :
一番最初の教会は４世紀ごろに建てられたと言われている。現在のものは、１２世紀中期に建てられた大部分が焼けた後に、１３世紀初期に再建が始められた。左の尖塔は１６世紀初期に完成し、それは右の尖塔の約３００年後のことであった。結果として、非対称な尖塔を持つこととなった。右がロマネスクで左がゴシック。
La Cathédrale de Chartres (The Cathedral of Chartres) :
It is said that the very first church was built around the 4th century. They started to rebuild the current one in the early 13th century after major part of it, which was built in the mid 12th century, was burnt. The left steeple was completed in the early 16th century, about 300 years later than the right one. As a result, it has asymmetrical steeples: the right one is Romanesque and the left one is Gothic. -
