『恐竜の卵』を模した巨大な球状の建物だからか、存分に高さ・広さを活かせる展示が、この博物館の強みになっていると思います。それによって、模型や骨格とは言え、遥かに巨大な身体が、どのような生活をしていたのかが分かります。加えて展示方法もユニーク。周回できるようなスロープを設けることで、背丈の高い恐竜の模型や骨格を、眼下や目線と同じ高さで見ることが出来ます。動く模型だけでなく、より近くで、より様々な角度から観察してもらう、というのが最大の魅力であると思います。
恐竜だけでなく、恐竜と同じ時代を生きた他の生物の骨格標本や、進化の過程をつぶさに観察できる展示物が多いのもこの博物館の魅力です。これまでの博物館では、下から見上げて観察する展示手法が多いですが、この博物館では様々な角度で観察できるため、子供も全く飽きません。むしろ、恰好の学びのスポットと言えそうです。
福井駅から少なくとも1時間に2本は電車が出ていますし、有料のシャトルバスもあります。交通の面ではそれほどの不自由は感じません。連日の人気でお土産屋・レストランは常時混雑していますので、買い物や食事は、ピークの時間を割けた上での利用がよさそうです。

The transportation to go there(or Katsuyama station) is never bad. While it is a very popular museum, restaurants and souvenir shops are very crowded.
