This time, I visited Kyoto and Nara. I had already been to Kyoto a few times, but It was my junior high school trip to go to Nara. I did not remember mostly and I felt it new to me.

As usual visit, I went to the Kiyomizu Temple first.

Always beautiful. I visited in the morning and less people.

Ninennzaka in Kyoto.

Pagoda of Hogan temple, made in 1440.

I do not know they were tourist or not, but typical japanese old style photo.

Maruyama Park.

Chion in, founded in 1175, but it was burnt down a few times, and this building was made in 17th century.

Kamo river.

Kyoto municipal museum, by the Kamo river. It is on the way from Maruyama park and Heian Shrein. It was built in 1933.

Heian Shrine.

Konkai Komyo temple, famous for the shinsengumi during in Kyoto period. Founded in 1175, but most of the buildings were reconstructed in 19th century.

This is the entrance of Shinyo do, one of my favorite temple, almost best. There were many maple tree and visit in autumn would be excellent. This temple was founded in 984, but buildings were in the late 17th century.

This is 哲学の道(Philosopher's walk)from Ginkaku temple to Nanzen temple. Nice visit in March with cherry blossom.

Nanzen temple.

Nanzenji was founded in the late 13th century and had close related to emperor in old days. It was burnt down a few times and the current buildings were made in the early 17th century.

There was a water bridge behind the temple. It was made in Meiji Era, there were some discussion at that times because some thought it destroyed the traditional scenery of Nanzenji, but I think it fits into historical buildings.

Then I took the train to Nara.
The road to Todaiji. -
Three stories Pagoda in Kofukuji.
Kofukuji was established in 669 by the wife of Kamatari Fujiwara, the most powerful politician at that time and the founder of Fujiwara clan. This temple had a big power because of close relation with Fujiwara clan and emperor's family.
This pagoda would have made in Kamakura period, so means almost 900 years ago. -
The five stories pagoda, made in about 1426.

I do not sure, but it would be 北円堂(Kitaendo, North octagonal hall), built in 1210.

This is 南円堂(Nanendo, South octagonal hall).

東金堂(Tokondo, East golden hall)and pagoda.

There were a lot of deers in Nara park. Very famous.

Sleepy deer. They were very relaxed.

I ate 団子(Japanese rice paste ball with sweet soy sauce). Yummy!

It might be tough to clean... There are so many deers.

This is the entrance of Todaiji.

Ohhh, too many deers.

This 南大門(Great south gate)was built in 1199. Old and huge.

In the gate, there were wooden statues of 金剛力士(wrath-filled guardians of Buddha), 8.4metre high. They were made in 1203, took only 69 days.

Mirror pond.

金堂(Golden Hall, Daibutsu-den). It was founded in 8th century by the order of Shomu emperor, but the current building was built in Edo period, after a few times of fire.

One of the most famous Buddha statues in the world. Originally it was made in 8th century, only parts of sleeves, cushion and legs were left. Most of the body was remade in middle age, the head was in Edo period. This is 46.8metre high!

In the golden hall, there were other statues. It is 虚空蔵菩薩像, made in the 18th century.

広目天像, one of the four heavenly gods, who sees all.

多聞天像, this god hears everything.

A pillar has hole, and people gathered up to squeeze through it.
This hole is said the same size of the Buddha statue's nose hole... The meaning of this action is a wish for the health. -
It was good to come and feel historical atmosphere.

Sento-kun, the symbol character of Nara...

I stayed in Osaka, and went to Shinsekai for Kushiage again.

One of my favorite junky foods! It looks like onion, rice paste and something... I do not remember.

When I backed to the hotel, I found the stall of Takoyaki, Osaka's local food.

Mmm, I could not resist not to buy!
