Friendship and Good will visit
We have always been wishing peace prevail all over the world.However it seems that we still have atmosphere of ignorance and prejudice from a troubled past. Why so we have had such a problem? I think it happens sometimes because no interest in others and sometimes we have misunderstanding.
We have developed various kinds of exchange programs with Edmonds. Our programs help remove them. Last year we, the twenty-four delegates visited Edmonds to have your warm hospitality. I remember “Friendship tree” symbolizing our permanent friendship at the beautiful coast and beautiful, calm streets. It is my sincere pleasure to see Mayor Haakenson and lots of friends of Edmonds. I am looking forward to having more opportunities to get know each other and deepening civil exchange further. by President of Hekinan Sister City Association

Hekinan Seaside Aquarium
A 200 ton tank with Lapanese coastal fish and migratory fish.
We can enjoy seeing aquatic lives, about 4,000 fish of 350 species throughout Japan from Hpkkaido to Okinawa.

We have truly thought of the way of welcoming you. We’ve heard that Mr. And Mrs. Okano’s daughter played the Japanese flute, Ryuteki. So we made a program of dram performance and flute performance.

First, we play the Japanese dram for festival, then, play the Japanese flute and finally the Japanese dram for big catch of fish.
