A relaxing restaurant to enjoy Gyutan dishes away from central Sendai

県道22号線沿いにあるたんや善治郎で、最も近い旭ヶ丘駅からでも台原森林公園内のアップダウンを通る必要があることから、利用者はほぼ車で訪れることになります。駐車場はあるもののそれ程スペースは広くなく（20台分もありません）、特に休日の昼食時間帯はほぼ確実に満車になると思います。
それでも、（私が利用した時間帯がラッキーだったからかもしれませんが）昼食時間帯を過ぎると、休日でも待つことなく入店することが出来ます。仙台駅から離れた場所にあるからこそ、だからかもしれません（仙台駅近辺の『たんや善治郎』では、15時台でも1時間超の待ちを要することも珍しくありません）。
店内は、白い壁に黒を基調とした木製の柱や梁、照明もやや暗めと落ち着いており、広くはあるものの開放的になり過ぎない程よい雰囲気を醸し出しています。テーブル席やお座敷の他、カウンター席もあるため、どのような人数構成でも気軽に利用できると思います。
提供される料理は、他の『たんや善治郎』と遜色ないように思います。私が利用した時は利用客も少なかったため、注文から給仕までそれ程時間はかかりませんでしたが、混雑した時間帯ではやはり注文から給仕までに時間を要します。各テーブルに設置されているブザーでスタッフを呼ぶスタイルで、近隣の大学生と思われる若い方が対応されていましたが、ハキハキとした受け答えでとても好感を持てました。
仙台の中心街から離れた場所にあるからこそ、ゆったりと牛タン料理を堪能するには、丁度いいレストランかもしれません。

This Tan-ya Zenjiro location is situated along Prefectural Route 22. Even from the nearest station, Asahigaoka, reaching the restaurant on foot requires walking through the hilly terrain of Dainohara Forest Park, so in practice, most customers arrive by car.
There is a parking lot, but it’s relatively small, with fewer than 20 spaces. It is therefore likely to fill up during the lunchtime rush, especially on weekends and public holidays.
That said, once the peak lunch period is over, you may be able to enter without waiting even on weekends - although I may simply have been fortunate with the timing of my visit. Its distance from Sendai Station probably works in its favor in this respect. At Tan-ya Zenjiro locations around Sendai Station, waits of more than an hour are not unusual, even around 3 p.m.
The interior has a calm and understated atmosphere, with white walls, dark wooden pillars and beams, and somewhat subdued lighting. Although the restaurant itself is spacious, the design prevents it from feeling overly open or impersonal. There are regular tables, traditional Japanese-style tatami seating, and counter seats, making it suitable for solo diners as well as couples, families, and larger groups.
The dishes are consistent in both selection and quality with what you would expect from other Tan-ya Zenjiro locations. There were relatively few customers when I visited, so my meal arrived fairly quickly after ordering. During busy periods, however, you should expect a longer wait between ordering and being served.
Customers call the staff using buttons installed at each table. During my visit, the restaurant appeared to be staffed in part by young employees, possibly students from nearby universities. The staff member who served me spoke clearly and confidently and was very attentive, leaving an excellent impression.
If you have access to a car and would prefer to enjoy Sendai's famous gyutan (grilled beef tongue) away from the crowds of the city center, this may be an especially good Tan-ya Zenjiro location for a more relaxed meal.
