本土と江ノ島を結ぶ橋で、歩行者専用の橋である（自転車や軽車両を除く車両は、並走する『江ノ島大橋』を利用する必要がある）。
江ノ島大橋の西側に架けられた橋であるため、特に夕焼けの時間帯は（特に西側の）景色を遮るものが全くなく、絶好の夕日の眺望スポットとなる。歩道自体は広めに設定されているものの、夕焼けの景色を見るための大勢の観光客が訪れると途端に道が詰まるので、譲り合いながら夕焼けの景色を臨むといいだろう。
一方で、遮るものが無いため、日中を通して風が強く、帽子などが飛ばされることがよくある。加えてトンビがよく飛翔しており、食べ歩きをしている最中に油断すると食べ物をトンビに掻っ攫われる場合があることに注意が必要である。

On the other hand, because there are no obstructions, the wind is strong throughout the day, and hats and other items are often blown off. In addition, dragonflies often fly over the area, and if you are not careful while walking and eating, you may have your food snatched by them.
