Quiet temple with very small precincts

座間駅から徒歩で10分程度のところにある寺院。坂東三十三観音第8番札所で、星の谷観音とも称される。
この寺院の周辺の住宅街も静かであり、この寺院も祭事でもない限り休日でも人の訪れはほとんどなく、終日静かである。一方でこの寺院入口の道路は比較的車の交通量が多く、（時間帯に依るかもしれないが）車の往来の騒音がやや煩わしいと感じるかもしれない。
境内は小さく、周遊するだけであれば30分も要さない。境内にベンチ等は無いため、周辺散策途中の休憩目的で立ち寄るのには向かない。一方で境内には、入口の仁王像、宝篋印塔、弘法大師像等、見応えのある像や石塔がある。特に仁王像は非常に迫力があるため、それらの像を愛でながら境内を周遊するのもいいだろう。

The temple is about a 10-minute walk from Zama Station. It is the 8th temple of the Bando Sanjusan Kannon, also known as the "Hoshi-no-tani Kannon".
The residential area around the temple is quiet, and this temple is also quiet all day long, with few visitors, even on holidays, unless there is a festival. On the other hand, the road at the entrance to the temple is relatively busy, and the noise from the traffic may be bothersome (depending on the time of day).
The temple grounds are small, and it does not take more than 30 minutes to walk around. There are no benches in the grounds, so it is not a good place to stop for a rest during a stroll around the area. On the other hand, there are some statues and stone pagodas worth seeing, such as the Niou statue at the entrance, a Hokyointo (a Japanese box-shaped pagoda), and a statue of Kobo Daishi. The Nio statues are especially powerful, so it's a good idea to walk around the temple while admiring them.
