大阪城公園の北、大川沿いにある小さな美術館。元は実業家の藤田伝三郎の住まいで、蔵を改装し、収蔵されていた彼と彼の息子たちのコレクションが展示されています。基本的に年末年始以外は開館していますが、いずれの展示物も極めて貴重であり、且つ傷みやすい性質をもつものが多いこともあり、3カ月ごとに展示品を入れ替えているそうです（その代わり極力休館日を設けない、とのことです）。HP等で事前に開館の有無を確認した方がいいでしょう。
収蔵・展示されている古美術は、その多くが、日本では奈良時代からなど、中国では宋の時代以降などで、中には1000年以上も経過した美術品もあります。国宝や重要文化財級のものも多数あり、個人単位の所有の小規模な美術館でありながら、その素晴らしさは筆舌しがたく、全ての美術品を、くまなく、そして食い入るように見入ることでしょう。

隣接する藤田邸跡公園も、小規模ながら自然豊かでゆったりと散策できるところです。ちょっと喧騒から離れ、ゆっくりと大阪の時間を過ごすのもいいかもしれません。

This small museum is located along the Okawa River, north of Osaka Castle Park. Formerly the residence of industrialist Denzaburo Fujita, the storehouse has been renovated to house the collections of Fujita and his sons. The museum is generally open except during the year-end and New Year holidays, but since many of the exhibits are extremely valuable and fragile, the exhibits are changed every three months (they do their best to keep the museum not closed). It is best to check the website in advance.
Many of the antiques in the museum's collection date from the Nara period in Japan and the Sung dynasty in China, and some of them are more than 1,000 years old. Many of the works are national treasures or important cultural properties, and although it is a small museum owned by a private individual, its splendor is indescribable, and you may find yourself devouring every piece of art.

The adjacent Fujita Residence Park is also small, but rich in nature, and a relaxing place to stroll. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend some quality time in Osaka.
