波照間港からも島中央部の集落からもやや距離があるため、穏やかに心地よく風が通り抜ける中でスイーツやドリンクを堪能できる、小ぢんまりとしたカフェです。客席は全て屋外で、一部の客席には屋根がありますが、風雨を遮る壁は無いため、悪天候時の利用はあまりお勧めできません。
注文カウンターで事前に注文し、カウンターで出来上がったドリンクや料理を受け取ります。食後は食器を専用の返却カウンターに戻します。会計は食後に行います。ご夫婦で切り盛りしているため、来客数が多いと給仕の速度が遅くなりますが、それでも丁寧に拵えられた料理の見た目・味に、穏やかな人柄を感じさせます。基本的に料理はカレーのみ、スイーツもかき氷のみですが、杏仁豆腐等のかき氷以外のスイーツが給仕されることがあります。波照間で産出された黒糖や黒蜜を使っているため、少しほろ苦さを含んだ甘さですが、とてもかき氷や杏仁豆腐に程よいアクセントになっています。
波照間の旅で、是非ともお勧めしたいカフェの一つです。
Because it's somewhat distant from both Hateruma Port and the village in the center of the island, this is a small, cozy cafe where you can enjoy sweets and drinks while a gentle, comfortable breeze passes by. All seating is outdoors, and although some seating is roofed, there are no walls to shield it from the wind and rain, so it is not recommended for use in inclement weather.
Order in advance at the order counter and receive your ready-made drinks and food at the counter. After eating, return the dishes to the dedicated return counter. The bill is taken after the meal. Because the restaurant is run by a couple, serving speed slows down when there are many customers, but even so, the appearance and taste of the carefully prepared dishes give the impression of a gentle personality. Basically, the cafe serves only curry as a dish and shaved ice as sweets, but sometimes other sweets such as apricot jelly are served. The brown sugar and brown honey produced in Hateruma give the shaved ice and apricot bean curd a slightly bitter sweetness, but it adds a nice accent to the shaved ice and apricot bean curd.
This is one of the cafes we highly recommend on your trip to Hateruma.
