Very valuable museum where you can learn about the wisdom and ingenuity of people who have lived with the sea

主に東南アジアやオセアニアの島々に住む、常に海が生活に密接に関わっている人々の暮らしと文化が一堂に展示・紹介されている博物館です。
博物館の入り口は1階ですが、チケット売り場は2階です（エレベーターもしくは階段を使用します）。展示スペースは2階と3階にありますが、展示室の大部分が吹き抜けになっており、3階の展示スペースは2階と比較すると限られています。それでも展示スペースそのものが非常に大きく、全ての展示をしっかりと鑑賞するには2時間は必要でしょう。
船だけでなく、衣装や入れ墨、踊りなど、海洋国や島々に暮らす人たちの風習や祈り、今も連綿と受け継がれている文化を学ぶことが出来ます。陸地の面積も狭く活用できる資源も乏しい中で、どのように知恵を絞り、現代に至るまで発展してきたのかを知ることが出来る貴重な博物館だと思います。

This is a museum that exhibits and introduces the lives and cultures of people who live on islands mainly in Southeast Asia and Oceania, where the sea is always closely related to their lives.
The entrance to the museum is on the first floor, but the ticket office is on the second floor (use the elevator or stairs). The exhibition spaces are located on the second and third floors, but most of the exhibition rooms are in the atrium, so the exhibition space on the third floor is limited compared to the second floor. Even so, the exhibition space itself is very large, and it would take about two hours to fully appreciate all the exhibits.
You can learn about the culture that has been passed down from one generation to the next of people living in maritime countries and islands such as the customs, prayers, including not only boats, but also tattoos, and dances. I think this museum is a valuable place to learn about how the people of these islands, with their small land area and limited resources, have managed to develop their wisdom to the present day.
