可能な限り政治色を廃し、当時の資料や証言等、原子爆弾とは、原爆が落とされるまでの情勢、何故広島（及び長崎）に落とされたか、落とされた後の状況、復興までの道のりなど、社会学的・科学的に淡々と展示されている資料館。資料館の広さや資料の多さに比べると、大人200円（子供100円）は安く、広島に行った際は必ず見るべき一つのスポット、と言える。日本語だけでなく英語・中国語・韓国語の案内もあり、必要に応じて音声ガイドも貸し出されている。
展示の一部は、目を覆いたくなるような惨状が目に飛び込んでくる。しかし、一切目を反らしてはいけない。「原爆を、生きた人間に、人々の行き交う街に落とせば、こうなる」ことを教えてくれる。冷徹に、残酷に。
この資料館は、誰かを責めるためのものではない。過去を蒸し返すものでもない。全ては観覧した人がそれを元にどう未来を築くべきなのか、そのためにある。「原爆を落とせば、こうなる。その苦しみを今も負い続け、誰かに負い続けさせることになる。それでも貴方は、原爆を使うのか？」。政治に携わっていようがいまいが関係ない。これは、全ての人間が考えるべきことだ、資料館はそう伝えているように思えてならない。

The exhibition at the museum removes the political color as much as possible. About the atomic bomb, the situation until it is dropped, the devastation after it is dropped, the way to recovery is displayed socially and scientifically with matter-of-fact. Those exhibitions are explained not only in Japanese but also in English, Chinese and Korean. If you need, you can use an audio guide. Admission fee is 200 Yen for adults and 100 Yen for children. If you are going to sightsee in Hiroshima, it is one of the spots you should visit.
You'll want to cover your eyes for some exhibits. But never look away from them. They tell you with cool-headedly and cruelly, "If the atomic bomb will be dropped on the living persons, or the city where people come and go, it will be like this".
Those exhibitions are not for blaming someone, nor for dredging up the past. It is in order to display how all the viewers should build their future. It does not matter whether you are involved in politics. Do you want your future of the same fate?
