この庭園ほど、雨天がよく合う日本庭園を私は知りません。木々や芝、池の緑が、雨天によって一層深みを増し、幽玄な雰囲気が園内を漂います。
庭園は回遊式で、複雑に入り組んだ道が特徴的です。園内の地図がないと自分がどこにいるのか分からなくなりますが、敢えて地図を持たずに周遊しながら景色を眺めるのもいいかもしれません。同じ道でも、季節や時間帯、向かう方向によって違う印象を与えるため、この庭園は何時間滞在しても見飽きません。掬月亭で一服の茶を楽しみ、寛ぎながら庭園の眺めるのもよし、周遊和船に乗って湖上から庭園を眺めるのもよし。心身ともにリラックスできる心地よい庭園だと思います。一部は砂利道になっているため、ハイヒールなどの歩きにくい靴は控えた方が良いと思います。
さらにこの庭園は、日の出の時刻から入場できます（季節によって入場時刻が異なります）。他の庭園では見られない、朝露に濡れた木々や湖面を漂う朝靄など、幻想的な風景を楽しむのもいいかもしれません。

I recommend you to take a walk in this garden in the rain, although the garden is beautiful even when it is fine. In rainy weather, the green of trees, lawn and lake shine more beautifully, and creates a mystical atmosphere.
The paths of the garden is very complicated. If you do not have map of the garden, you'll get lost your location. It may be interesting to take a walk in the garden without having map daringly. Even on the same paths, you may have a completely different impression depending on the season, time and direction of walking. You'll not get tired of how many hours you stay in this garden. However, since some of paths are gravel paths, you should refrain from using hard-to-walk shoes.
Another characteristic of the garden is that you can enter from the time of sunrise (the time you can enter according to the season is different)! You may be able to enjoy the scenery in early morning that you can not experience in other garden.
