Since we had an early-morning flight, we were out around 7 p.m. and saw many groups of elderly people practicing tai chi.

My bf got the map wrong, and we ended up at a depressing-looking restaurant, where we paid way too much for a not-so-good crab roe noodle soup.

I was surprised by how many MUSINSA stores there were in Shanghai, even though I don’t think they have any physical stores in Japan yet.

After hanging out around Nanjing East Road, there was a fight between me and bf.
He started feeling unwell and said he couldn’t enjoy the trip. I blamed him for being physically and mentally weak. Looking back, I was pretty harsh. He hadn’t slept properly because of our late-night flight, after all.

On Day 2, we took the high-speed train to Suzhou.

As a foreigner, you need to show your passport when entering and leaving the station, which was a little inconvenient. We took second class, but it was comfortable and only took about 25 minutes.

We planned to take the 11 a.m. train to Suzhou and return to Shanghai on the 7 p.m. train. However, we were late returning our traditional Chinese outfit from the photo experience and missed our train.
We ended up taking the 8 p.m. train back to Shanghai.

Revenge for yesterday ? this time, I chose rice instead of noodles.

I was surprised to see the restaurant selling its menu through TikTok LIVE right inside the store. Apparently, it’s actually cheaper to order through the livestream than to order in person!

Day 3 breakfast: Shanghai-style pan-fried xiaolongbao. The filling was packed tightly and had a rich, savory flavor. Surprisingly, the congee and whole-grain cornflakes were the best parts of the breakfast?they were seriously good.

On this day, we stayed at the hotel and relaxed until right before check-out, then took a Hello Bike to Jing’an Temple. After nightfall, we headed to Yuyuan Garden.
We also tried a huge soup dumpling that you drink through a straw.
Huffing and puffing, we flew back to Tokyo on a Peach Aviation flight departing at 1 a.m. and arriving at Haneda at 5 a.m. Most of the passengers on the late-night flight were in their 20s or 30s.

I had always imagined China as being loud and chaotic, but this trip made me realize that there’s also a very relaxed and laid-back side to it. The level of digitalization also makes everyday life incredibly convenient.

I’d love to visit another city in China next time.

The atmosphere was much more casual and approachable than bars in Japan, and even the bartenders were dancing.

We actually came across a　ワンホン real-life Chinese internet influencer here. She was over 175 cm tall, wearing fitted sportswear and flat shoes. The man she was with looked pretty ordinary.
