Weekend Trip to Hokuriku, 2009 (stayed in Toyama)

Actually I did not travel in Toyama... just stayed one night. So I should not to put a travel journal but I wanted to make the map colored in Toyama on this web site, just proof I go there:P

I stayed at Toyama Manten Hotel.

Toyama castle with illumination. This castle is the replica made about 60 years ago, but the original was built in the middle of 16 century and lasted till Meiji Era, in Meiji Era, after Haihan Chiken ( the municipal system changed from Han to Ken ) they dissolved this castle, except for a little part. I guess that many castles and old historical building destructed because of the image of old government.

I went to the Izakakaya "Oazy" for dinner, I did not remember which Oazy restaurant, they have several there. I wanted to eat something special there and checked the internet, and found "Yam potate pancake".

I think this is "Liver Sashimi", my favorite food... but after the fraud case by meat company about 5,6 years ago, and the government prohibited to serve liver sashimi. They had the food poisoning with Ukke (raw minced beef, not liver sashimi) and found the company cheated the date or something. Liver sashimi was a kind of victim, I felt. But I heard liver would be also dangerous to eat as raw... so Tant pis. So Liver Sashimi is now food cannot eat in Japan anymore, a kind of dream food for me.

This is the "Tororo Teppan Yaki" (Yam potato pancake), spongy texture like omelette la mere poulard.
