ブルキナファソ西部のとある村訪問（バマの町近郊）

首都ワガドゥグからブルキナファソ第2の街ボボ・デュラッソへ路線バスで向かった。
そこで現地に住んでいる友人と待ち合わせ、乗り合いタクシーにて田舎町バマ（Bama)へ。
本当になーんにもないのどかな町で、ただただゆったりと静かな時間が流れているだけだった。
町の近くに小さな村があって、そこからピロッグ（木製の小舟）に乗って行くとカバが見られるということだったので、村の訪問を兼ねカバのいる池へ向かった。
カバは凶暴で人を襲うこともあり近づくことはできなかったけど、確かに遠方にカバの姿をとどめることができた（豆粒ほどの大きさではあったが…）。

それにしても、この村人たちのあたたかい歓迎ぶりや屈託のない笑顔にはまったくもって心が癒された。
子どもたちの腕白さや元気さも弾けんばかり。
ちゃんとした名前も聞かずじまいだったけど、素敵な思い出として残る村訪問となった。
