ソグネフィヨルド :
フロムからベルゲンまでソグネフィヨルドを巡航するエクスプレス・ボートに乗りました。幸運にも天気が良くフィヨルドの美しさを満喫しました。

Sognefjord :
I took an express boat cruising from Flåm to Bergen through Sognefjord. I was so lucky that the weather was nice enough to thoroughly enjoy beauty of the fjord.

The Express Boat

アウルランフィヨルドの風景 :
アウルランフィヨルドはソグネフィヨルドの支フィヨルドの一つ。
フィヨルドはとても長く狭い湾で、たいていは高い山々で囲まれている。フィヨルドは氷河時代に氷河の侵食によって形成された。氷が融けて無くなったときに、そこに海につながった深い谷が残り、海水で満たされ、フィヨルドとなった。

Aurlandsfjord is a branch of Sognefjord.
Fjords are very long and narrow bays usually surrounded by high mountains. Fjords were formed by glacial erosion during the ice age. When the ice melted away, deep valleys connected to the sea remained there, and they were filled with seawater and became fjords.

ソグネフィヨルドの風景 :
ソグネフィヨルドは最も長く深いフィヨルドで、内陸に２００キロメートル以上入り込んでいる。最も深いところで約１３００メートルの深さがある。

A scene of Sognefjord :
Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord and stretches more than 200 kilometres inland. It is about 1300 metres deep in the deepest section.

ソグネフィヨルドの風景 :
ソグネフィヨルドは違った様子を見せてきました。エクスプレス・ボートが北海に近づくにつれ、フィヨルドは広くなり、山々は低くなった。風が強くなり、デッキに立っているのも大変となりました。

A scene of Sognefjord :
Sognefjord were presenting its different aspect: the fjord was wider and the mountains were lower, the express boat was approaching closer to the North Sea. The wind was getting stronger and it was very hard to stand on the deck.
