ラスベガスには1990年〜2002年までの間に何回か行きました。1990年代初期には、ニューヨーク−ニューヨーク、パリ、ルクソール、など世界の有名な場所を似せたホテルはありませんでした。その時代は、カジノとステージ・ショウで街の個性を守っていたと思われます。1990年代半ばと後半のラスベガスの猛烈な変化を見ることになりました。そのときはラスベガスには建設中や取壊中の場所が幾つもあり、人気が無いホテルは取壊され新しいホテルが建てられていました。ここには 1995年の秋にラスベガスの夜景を撮った写真を載せます。
I went to Las Vegas several times between 1990 and 2002. In the early 1990s, there was neither New York - New York, Paris, Luxor, nor etc -- hotels that mimic some famous places in the world. It seems that it kept its personality of the city with casinos and stage shows in those days. I happened to witness its ferocious change in the mid and late 1990s. During those times, there were many sites under construction and destruction there: unpopular hotels were destructed and replaced with new hotels. I post here some photos of night scenes in Las Vegas in the fall of 1995.
