A unique and relaxing Starbucks in the former home of a Manga Artist

鎌倉駅から徒歩で5分程度、というアクセスしやすいところにあるスターバックスですが、鎌倉駅隣接の商業ビル内にもスターバックスがあること、鎌倉駅周辺に限定すれば、鎌倉駅東口に商店・レストラン・観光名所が集中していることから、このスターバックスを利用する客は休日でもそれ程多くは無いように見受けられます（確かに休日は混雑しますが、席の確保が困難、という程ではありません）。店内も開放的な造りになっているため、ゆったり過ごすにはピッタリなカフェの一つだと思います。
提供されるドリンクや軽食の種類及び質は、他のスターバックスと遜色ありません。
オープンテラス席のすぐそばには、藤棚やプールがあり、四季折々の花々を愛でることが出来ます（さすがにプールは利用出来ません）。元は漫画家・横山隆一氏の自宅で、一部、当時の面影が残っています。店内には彼の往年の作品が展示されており、それらを愛でながらくつろぐのもいいかもしれません。

This Starbucks is conveniently located about a five-minute walk from Kamakura Station. However, there is another Starbucks in a commercial building directly next to the station, and most of the shops, restaurants, and major tourist attractions around Kamakura Station are concentrated on the East Exit side. Perhaps for these reasons, this particular location does not seem to attract overwhelming crowds, even on weekends. It certainly becomes busier on holidays, but I have not found it so crowded that getting a seat becomes particularly difficult.
The interior has a spacious and open feel, making this one of the better cafés in the area if you would like to sit down and relax for a while.
The selection and quality of the drinks and light meals are comparable to what you would expect from other Starbucks locations.
What makes this branch particularly interesting, however, is its setting. Beside the outdoor terrace are a wisteria trellis and a swimming pool, surrounded by plants and flowers that provide different scenery throughout the seasons. The pool itself, of course, is not available for customers to use.
The property was formerly the home of Ryuichi Yokoyama, a well-known Japanese manga artist, and parts of the building and grounds still retain traces of that history. Some of his works are also displayed inside the café, adding a distinctive cultural element that you would not normally find at a Starbucks.
