段葛の通り沿いにある、早朝から営業しているカフェで、鎌倉を訪れる外国人観光客を中心に、早朝から多くの利用客で賑わいます。休日でも早朝利用であれば席の確保はほとんど苦労しませんが、午後にもなると店内はかなり混雑し、席の確保も一苦労するのは否めません。
オープンテラス席もあり、それに加え指定されたエリア内であれば、ペット同伴でも利用可能なカフェであるのが魅力的です。
注文カウンターで注文と会計を先に済ませるスタイルのカフェです。プレスサンドウィッチやワッフルといった調理を要する軽食を注文した場合、空いている時間帯でも注文から給仕までやや時間を要するように感じます。注文したドリンクや軽食が出来上がると名前を呼ばれ、受け取りカウンターでドリンク・軽食を受け取りますが、空いていてスタッフの動きにも余裕がある場合、スタッフが席まで運んでくれる場合があります。
コーヒーは、やや酸味のあるスッキリとした軽やかな味わいで、渋みはほとんど無く、一方で香りはやや弱めのような感じでしたが（使用しているコーヒー豆に依るのかもしれません）、誰もが気軽に飲める味に仕上がっていたと思います。軽食のプレスサンドウィッチやワッフルは、一部のメニューは朝早めに訪れても品切れになるようなトッピングメニューもある程で、じっくり調理され整った味付けに仕上がっているのが高い人気を誇っていると伺えます。
段葛の通りは時間帯を問わず車の往来が多く、特に夏季は出入口の扉を開けている場合があり、車の往来の騒音がやや耳障りとなる場合があります。また多くの調度品、特に椅子の座面が木材もしくは丈夫な植物繊維で作られており、こだわりを感じるものの、腰痛が持病である方の場合、やや利用しづらい椅子のようにも感じました。

Located along Dankazura, this cafe opens early in the morning and attracts many customers from early in the day, particularly international visitors to Kamakura. Even on weekends, finding a seat is generally not difficult if you come early in the morning. By the afternoon, however, the cafe can become quite crowded, and finding an available seat may take some effort.
One of the appealing features of this cafe is its outdoor terrace seating. Pets are also welcome as long as you remain within the designated pet-friendly area, making this a useful option for visitors traveling with their pets.
This is a counter-service cafe where you place your order and pay at the counter first. If you order food that needs to be prepared, such as a pressed sandwich or waffle, it can take a little while before your order is ready, even when the cafe is not particularly busy. Once your drinks and light meals are ready, your name is called and you normally collect them from the pickup counter. When the cafe is quiet and the staff are not too busy, however, they may occasionally bring your order directly to your table.
The coffee I had was clean, light, and refreshing, with a slightly acidic character and very little bitterness. The aroma seemed somewhat mild, although this may depend on the particular beans being used. Overall, I thought it was an approachable style of coffee that would be easy for most people to enjoy.
The pressed sandwiches, waffles, and other light meals appear to be particularly popular. Some toppings or menu options can apparently sell out even relatively early in the morning. The food seems to be prepared with care and is well balanced in flavor, which may help explain its popularity.
There are a couple of points worth keeping in mind. Dankazura has a considerable amount of vehicle traffic throughout the day. Particularly during the summer, the cafe doors may be left open, and the noise from passing vehicles can sometimes be a little distracting.
The interior furnishings also have a distinctive, carefully chosen appearance. Many of the chairs in particular have seats made from wood or sturdy woven plant fibers. While this adds character to the cafe, I felt that some of the seating might be less comfortable for anyone who suffers from chronic lower-back pain or otherwise needs a softer, more supportive chair.
