The existing castle tower and the view from there are wonderful

現存天守の中で最も高いところにある山城です。途中の麓の駐車場まで車で行くことが出来、そこからバスに乗り換え。ですがそのバスも山頂（天守）まで行くことが出来ず、中腹のバス停からは徒歩。とは言え、そこまで厳しい山道でもなく、またある程度整備もされていますので、杖なし、スニーカー等で登ることが出来ます。
備中高梁駅から徒歩で登る、という方も多いです。ちょっと距離がありますが、挑戦してみるのもいいかもしれません。
山の頂にあるお城であるだけに、そこから高梁市の市街地、そして山並みの景色が美しい。また、遮る建物等が無いため、現存天守の白い漆喰に当たる陽の光が一層白く輝き、美しさを放ちます。城の内部は、無骨な木造の構造展示や城の成り立ち、城主の遷移等が主体です。城マニアとしては、あまり内部をごちゃごちゃ整備されるよりはいいかもしれません。一方で、車いすや松葉杖等の方にとってはちょっと訪ねるのに不向きかもしれません。

The castle is the highest of all the existing castles tower. You can drive to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain, and then transfer to a bus. However, the bus does not go to the top of the mountain (the castle tower), so we had to walk from the bus stop in the middle of the mountain. However, it is not that tough a mountain road and it is well maintained to some extent, so you can climb without a walking stick or sneakers.
Many people walk up from Bicchu Takahashi Station. It's a bit far, but you might want to give it a try.
As the castle is located on the top of a mountain, the view of the city of Takahashi and the mountain range is beautiful from there. Also, since there are no buildings to block the view, the sunlight hitting the white plaster of the existing castle tower makes it even whiter and more beautiful. The inside of the castle is mainly a display of the rugged wooden structure, the origins of the castle, and the transition of the lord of the castle. As a castle enthusiast, it would be better than having the inside of the castle messed up. On the other hand, it may not be suitable for people in wheelchairs.
