At the 20-year anniversary, I made the first visit to Shanda since my graduation in May 2004. Jinan has been changed drastically, in particular at the city centre. However, we can find a lot of things which still remain the same shape as our memory in the Shanda campus or Hongjialou area.

留学生楼門
大学の組織が変更になり、以前の｢･･･系｣が｢･･･学院｣に変ったようです。留学生教育は「国際教育学院｣の管轄下になっており、以前食堂だったところには5階建ての立派な校舎が建っていました。
看板は｢国際教育学院｣になっていますが、門や塀、留学生楼はまったく昔のままでした。

The Gate of the Dormitory
University organization has been changed. "Departments" were changed to "Colleges". Education to foreign students is managed by "College of International Education". A new 5-story building has been constructed where our canteen existed.
The gate, fence and Liuxueshenglou still remain unchanged, though the sign board on the gate shows "College of International Education"

The Dormitory from the Back Yard
The Liuxueshenglou from the back yard where there was a basket ball court. Please see the A/C at every window.
新留学生楼
今は何と500人の留学生がいるそうです。最も多いのは韓国人とのこと。

New Dormitory
Can you imagine there are 500 foreign students in Shanda now. The biggest population is Koreans.

2階の廊下、当時の女子宿舎側です。
今は、当時の男子宿舎側は招待所となっており、私はこの1室に泊めてもらいました。当時女子宿舎だったところが現在の留学生宿舎で、2〜3階が女子、4〜5階が男子だそうです。

First floor of the dormitory. Female students lived this side at that time.
All students stay in this side now. First and Second floors are for female students and third and forth floos are for male.
The previous area for male students were renovated to become guest rooms. I stayed one of these rooms.

We bacame friends with the old guards, who were quite strict to other Chinese students.

柳の木がこんなに大きくなってしまって、最初に着いた時には、あの中庭だとは思えませんでした。
でもよく見ると、池などは当時と同じです。

As the trees grew so much, I could not recognise the garden when I first arrived there by taxi.
