河津桜があまりにも早咲きで葉っぱがでていたので、梅の見ごろも終わってしまったのでは…！と急に心配になってしまい、月曜というのにＡＭ半休を取り、梅で有名な湯島天満宮(湯島天神）に行ってしまいました(^^;　ところがあいにくの雨で、しかも相当寒かったためか、梅は5分くらいしか咲いていないように思えました。河津桜のほうか早かったのですね〜。ぜひ次回は満開のときに見に行きたいと思います<br /><br />The Kawazu-zakura were too full blossomed and I could see even leaves, I was suddenly worried that the plum blossom season would be over soon.... So I knew it was not right thing though, I took the half-dayoff on Monday, and went and saw plum-blossom to the Yushima-Tenmangu (Yushima-Tenjin, Yushima shrine in Bunkyo-ku), where is famous for it. Unfortunately, it rained and was chilly, it might be too early to see blossom there, looked half-blossomed... I hope I can come again here in their full-blossomed season!

湯島天神の入り口です。都会の中のお寺って感じですね

It is the entrance of Yushima-tenjin, looks like it in the middle of city.
入ってすぐに、美しいしだれ梅がありました。花にしても花火でも、しだれって本当にキレイですね

Soon after entering, there was a beautiful weeping plum-tree. I like the beauty of weeping trees and also Hanabi (fireworks).
湯島天神は菅原道真公を祀っていることで有名であるということで、たくさんの合格祈願の絵馬が奉納してありました。

Yushima-tenjin is famous for enshrined Sugahara
no Michizane, a politician in more than 1000
years ago and later became a kami (god) of
scholarship. So there were many Ema (wooden
plaques on which prayers or wishes are written
by worshippers) of prayer for "pass the exams".

平日の午前中で、しかも雨なので、参堂のお店は甘酒屋さんのみあいておりました。土日や晴れた日はものすごい人手なのでしょう。広くないからものすごく混んでしまう気がします。

There were only 2 stalls opened (Amazake-ya, hot sweet sake stall). It must be very crowded on weekend and sunny day, because this shrine premises is not so spacious.
