1: The U.S. west coast&western

2006/04/20 - 2006/05/17

I left Japan for the U.S. at 20th April, then got around west coast & western for about a month.

Itinerary is this.

April
20th Departure. I left Japan for Seattle.

25th I arrived at Yosemite national park via Portland, Sacrament. by Amtrak(train) & Greyhound(bus)

28th King`s canyon NP. I was taken in someone`s car.
There is a tree which is largest on the earth.

29th L.A. by Greyhound
I got there at 11:30pm. I realized that leaving there was dangerous,so I stayed there until morning.

May
2nd Las Vegas by greyhound
I met a chinese person. We got around this city.
6th Flagstaff by greyhound
This town is located south of Grand canyon.
I met a English man. We joined Sedona tour.
7th Sedona This town is known as healing spot.

8th Grand canyon by bus
10th I returned to Flagstaff.
11th I rented a car at Flagstaff to get around Arizona then went to Lake Pouell.

12th Monument valley
This place is one of my favarit. This place is in the heart of Alizona. I cant express enough how it is.
As far as the eye could reach, ground was so reddish brown and sky was so blue whitout limit.
Scenery of Alizona was look like a another planet such as moon or mars. It is not until you go there that you can feel how vast this place is.

13th Four corner`s, Mesaveld NP
If you see a map of the U.S., you perhaps notice that where Four corners is and why it is called that.

14th Petrified forest NP, Meteor crater.
Petrified means some creature is changed stone.
There are a lot of tree which had been changed stone.
Meteor crater was so big that I didnt notice it until I closed enough.
I came back Flagstaff to return the car. Then I bought 2weeks Amtrak pass. I got on Amtrak to get San Diego at 9pm.

15th I arrived at San Diego about noon.
I visited ex-colleagues.
17th I left San Diego for New Orleans
