RE: この夏に行こうと思っています
はじめまして、アンテロープキャニオンは、日本発のツアーには含まれていない場合が多いスポットですよね。どのような方法を取られるかは、分かりませんが、あくまで私たちの主観が入っていますので、ご了承ください。。
まず、レンタカーを使ったのは、アンテロープに行くことを中心に考えてのことです。理由は、ラスベガス発の現地を含むツアーが高額であること、日程が限られてしまうということ、予定は未定と割り切れることです。
次に、現地はナバホ族の自治区内であり、ツアーはナバホ族の人たちが催行しています。現地のツアーオフィスは私たちの知る限りでは、3軒ほど並んでいて、近くではピザなどの食事も近く済ますことができます。ツアーは大型の四輪駆動車に15人程度乗せて、15〜20分ほどで入り口に到着します。トロッコ車みたいな乗り物ですので、落としやすいものは持ち込まないほうが良いですよ。
また、私たちが訪れたのは、アッパー側なのですが、注意点は次のとおりです。
日が差す時間を選ぶこと。光が差すことが良い条件であること。
撮影用のカメラは、感度の良いものを選ぶこと。
ガイドはナバホなまりが強い英語ですので、聞き取りづらいこと。
上流側の雨などによりキャンセルの可能性があること。
アッパー、ロアーともにおとづれる場合は、1日必要であり、ペイジの町で1泊を要すること。その場合は、レイクパウエルも含めて考えると良いと思います。
最後に、私たちは現地ツアー会社のHPで予約したのですが、連絡やリコンファームなどは、すべてE−Mailを使いました。特に難しくありませんですし、レイクパウエルのツアーも催行しているらしいです。下にメールの抜粋をコピーしますので参考にして下さい。

You pay the balance of $ _57.01____ upon arrival at the Antelope Canyon Tours office,
30 minutes prior to tour departure time. The office is located at 22 South Lake Powell Blvd. near the intersection of North Navajo Drive in Page. Ample parking nearby.
You may use cash, travelers' checks, and all credit cards (except Diners' Club) for the balance of the ticket price. Credit card left on reservation is just to confirm your seats; we do not charge your card until you arrive to Antelope Canyon Tours.
Reconfirmed your reservation by sending us an email or call us, ALSO INCLUDE in the email the name of your lodging if staying in Page the night before the tour date and when you will check in so we can email you directions to the tour office location. If arriving on the morning of the tour date, let us know from where so we can give directions to the tour office.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
To cancel, call 1-928-645-9102 by 9 a.m. one day prior to your tour date as the tour operator requires 24 hours notice prior to date of tour. If you do not show up or give 24 hours notice of cancellation, the tour operator will charge your credit card for the tour fare minus the tax and tribal fee and prior paid processing fee.
If weather prohibits entry into the canyon, there is NO charge though. You can receive a credit to take the tour at a future date IF the tour is cancelled due to bad weather.
The tour operator determines when weather will prevent the tour from taking place.
The tour company staff does everything they can to make the tour a good one for you; however, some elements are beyond their control.
