岡山県西部に該当する備中国の324社を合祀した神社である。東総社駅から徒歩6〜7分程度でアクセスすることが出来るが、総社駅からでも2km程度のところにあるため、総社市の散策がてら参拝するのもいい。
備中国の神社を合祀した神社であるが、拝殿や本殿、境内は特別感がほとんどなく、街中の神社の一つ、と言ってもいいかもしれない。境内を周遊するだけであれば30分程度で済み、庭園や複数の末社があるものの、宝物殿等、この神社が受け継いできた物品を展示する施設も無い。そのため、祭事を除いては休日でも参拝に訪れる人は少なく、ゆったりと境内を散策することが出来る。
この神社の大きな特徴の一つとして、随身門から拝殿に向かうまでの回廊が挙げられる。途中で休憩するためのベンチが置かれているが、全長は100mにも満たないため、途中で一休みをすることはほぼ無いと思う。
