都心よりやや離れたところにある庭園からか、休日でも比較的空いており、ゆっくり周遊できる庭園です。晴れた日には絵を描く人もいる等、都心の喧騒を感じさせないのどかなひと時を味わうことが出来ます。
典型的な回遊式の日本庭園で、高低差もほぼなく、誰もが自由に利用できます。庭園の景観を極力損なわない造りとなっているため、舗装されている小路はほとんどありません。それでも、車椅子やベビーカーを持ち込んでも自由に庭園を鑑賞できるように整備されています。
飲食類を持ち込んで、園内のベンチで食事が出来る、というのもこの庭園の魅力の一つです（酒類は持ち込めません）。しかし園内にはゴミ箱は無いため、ゴミは持ち帰るか園外の所定のゴミ箱に処分する必要があります。可能な限り庭園としての景観を楽しんでもらうためか、橋や飛び石には柵等は設置されていません。飛び石も雨に濡れると滑りやすくなるため、特に小さな子供連れで訪れている場合は注意が必要です。
庭園の南側には、小規模ながら自由広場があります。回遊式の庭園の芝生内には入ることが出来ませんが、自由広場の芝生は立ち入ることが出来ます。広場とは言えところどころにベンチが点在するように設置されているため、ボール遊び等は出来ないようになっています。
梅やツツジ、花菖蒲と言った花々が植えられ、それらが咲く季節になると園内も華やぎます。一方で植えられた花の種類は比較的限定的で、どちらかと言えば松を始めとする植物の緑を愛でるような庭園になっているように見受けられます。それもあってか晩秋の紅葉が見頃を迎えると店内は紅葉で鮮やかに染まり、この時期が最も混雑するかもしれません。
園内には『涼亭』と呼ばれる、日本庭園でよく見られる茶屋のような建物がありますが、完全予約制であることに注意が必要です。

On sunny days, visitors can enjoy a peaceful moment without feeling the hustle and bustle of the city center, as some people paint pictures.
The garden is a typical Japanese-style garden, with almost no difference in elevation, and anyone can freely use it. The garden is designed to minimize the landscape, so there are almost no paved paths. Nevertheless, the garden is maintained in such a way that visitors can freely appreciate the garden even if they bring wheelchairs or baby strollers.
One of the attractions of this garden is that visitors can bring their own food and beverages and eat on benches inside the garden (alcoholic beverages are not allowed). However, there are no trash cans inside the garden, so visitors are required to take their trash home or dispose of it in the designated trash cans outside the garden. There are no fences around the bridges and stepping stones, perhaps to allow visitors to enjoy the garden scenery as much as possible. Stepping stones also become slippery when wet with rain, so care should be taken, especially if you are visiting with small children.
On the south side of the garden, there is a small but free open space. Visitors are not allowed to enter the lawn of the Japanese garden, but they can enter the lawn of this free space. But benches are scattered throughout the space, so ball games are not allowed.
Plum blossoms, azaleas, irises, and other flowers are planted, and the garden becomes more colorful when they are in bloom. On the other hand, the variety of flowers planted in the garden is relatively limited, and the garden is more like a place to enjoy the greenery of pine trees and other plants. This may be the reason why the garden is most crowded in late autumn, when the leaves are at their best and the garden is brightly tinted with the changing colors of the leaves.
There is a teahouse-like building called "Ryo-tei" in the garden, which is often seen in Japanese gardens, but it should be noted that it's by reservation only.
